Chapter 26 - [26] : Hiring the Clefairy

There were still several Clefairy that remained calm. They looked at this human with such a generous heart standing before them and couldn't help but ask, "Clefairy?" So what did they need to do?

Kawaki couldn't understand Pokémon language, but Bewear beside him answered this Clefairy's question for him.

"Guu... Guu!" (The work is all pretty easy - you just need to clean up, make food, pick herbs, and feed the other Pokémon in the Daycare!)

"Clefairy..."

Although it sounded like a lot, if everyone did one job each, it didn't seem like too much!

"Clefairy!"

The desperate Clefairy decisively agreed.

However, they also had one requirement - they absolutely had to bring their spaceship along too!

What if the spaceship was left here and some other bad guys took it? That would be terrible.

Looking at how the Clefairy surrounded their spaceship, Kawaki was stunned. "You're saying you want to bring this spaceship along too?"

"Clefairy!" The Clefairy nodded vigorously.

Kawaki: "..."

It was possible, but this thing was so huge - even if he wanted to, he was willing but unable!

Seeming to sense Kawaki's thoughts, Bewear suddenly stepped forward.

Under everyone's shocked gazes, it stretched out both hands, grabbed the bottom of the ship, then with a mighty effort, lifted it over its head.

The Clefairy: "!!!"

Kawaki: "!!!"

"Woof woof woof!" Growlithe's face was full of admiration - so amazing!

Bewear suddenly jumped up and actually leaped straight out from the top of Meteor Falls, disappearing from everyone's sight in the blink of an eye.

But the next second, its figure appeared again, tucking Kawaki and Growlithe under its arms with its elbows, jumping once and instantly arriving outside.

Kawaki only felt a wave of dizziness hit him, then his vision blurred.

When he opened his eyes again, he was shocked to discover he was already back at the entrance to Meteor Falls.

And the Clefairy's spaceship was right there beside them.

Bewear's movements didn't stop.

In just a few trips back and forth, it had brought out all the Clefairy as well.

Kawaki: "..."

His Bewear was becoming more and more like Tapu Bulu.

Having accomplished their goal for this trip, it was time to return to the Daycare.

Bewear shouldered the spaceship, but just then, something fell out from inside the ship.

Kawaki looked over and discovered it was actually several stones, and the stones were faintly glowing.

"This is..."

The Clefairy also looked over, then happily picked up the stones: "Clefairy~!"

These were the stones they used to decorate their ship!

Without the Clefairy needing to answer, Kawaki could already see the stones' information.

[Meteorite: A meteorite infused with terrifying cosmic energy. It radiates seven-colored light and feels faintly warm to the touch. Extremely rare on Earth, it is a priceless treasure that may hold other uses.]

There were six of these strange stones in total.

The moment Kawaki saw them, a peculiar expression appeared on his face.

These stones... couldn't they be the same meteorites that Team Magma collected in their storyline, the ones thrown into Mt. Chimney to revive Mt. Chimney and make the Land God Groudon active again?

"You'd better keep these things safe," Kawaki said to the Clefairy.

However, after hearing this, the Clefairy that Kawaki had saved happily ran forward and handed him the stone in its hands.

Kawaki was slightly stunned: "For me?"

"Clefairy!" This Clefairy nodded repeatedly.

This was just an ordinary stone! On their home planet, there were loads and loads more!

This human seemed to really like it, and he had saved it from that big monster, so it would give it to him to play with! the Clefairy thought.

Seeing this Clefairy's actions, the other Clefairy who had originally planned to casually toss these useless decorative stones by the roadside weren't stingy either, happily throwing all the stones to Kawaki.

Kawaki: "..."

He had no doubt that if he didn't want them, these Clefairy would definitely just dump these stones on the roadside.

Putting away the stones, Kawaki cleared his throat and said to all the Pokémon: "Alright, let's head back first!"

The Daycare was quite a distance from Meteor Falls - if they walked, it would take at least half a day.

When coming here, Kawaki had relied on Bewear, but now Bewear was carrying the spaceship and couldn't take them, so they could only walk.

Plus, Kawaki was somewhat worried that Bewear might get tired carrying such a big chunk of rock, so every time they walked a certain distance, he would stop to rest.

Along the way, they occasionally encountered a few trainers, all of whom stared in shock at this scene.

When the group returned to the Daycare, it was already 2 PM.

Under Kawaki's direction, Bewear placed the Clefairy's spaceship in an open area of the backyard to create the Clefairy's cosmic playground.

This spaceship could both shelter them from wind and rain and serve as scenery. Not only that, but the internal space could let the Clefairy sleep inside - absolutely perfect.

"Alright!"

Having settled the spaceship, Kawaki clapped his hands and looked at the group of Clefairy behind him, saying:

"This is the Daycare, and it's where we live. You'll be staying here from now on, repairing your ship while collecting Moon Stones. Bewear and I will help you search for them too. But for now, I need to go prepare lunch. Bewear, Growlithe, you take the Clefairy and show them around this place first."

"Guu~"

"Woof woof!"

Both Pokémon responded in unison.

Clefairy were the optimistic type of Pokémon. Even though this was their first time at the Daycare, they showed no timidity whatsoever, instead curiously observing everything around them.

Under Bewear and Growlithe's guidance, they began familiarizing themselves with this Daycare.

Meanwhile, Kawaki went to the kitchen to start preparing food for the Clefairy.

Of course, he didn't go back on his word. Before officially starting food preparation, Kawaki wrote "BUYING MOON STONES IN BULK" on the small blackboard by the door.

Currently, the Clefairy had agreed to come work at the Daycare to earn Moon Stones and meal expenses.

The relationship between them was an employment one. As the boss, Kawaki began thinking about what kind of work the Clefairy would be suitable for.

Chef Clefairy, repairman Clefairy, mechanic Clefairy, janitor Clefairy, harvester Clefairy, caretaker Clefairy, doctor Clefairy, server Clefairy...

Although these jobs were quite complex for the current Clefairy.

But Pokémon were, after all, creatures with very strong adaptability, just like the Chansey working as nurses in Pokémon Centers.

Kawaki believed that as long as they taught them carefully, the Clefairy would definitely be able to perfectly adapt to life at the Daycare and these jobs.
