There were many things that needed to be done, and Kawaki planned to tackle them one by one.
He first went to the town's supermarket, where he bought a large quantity of non-perishable food items for Bewear to carry.
Next, Kawaki planned to inquire about Poké Ball transfer machines, but unfortunately, there wasn't a single one of these devices in all of Fallarbor Town.
When the shopkeepers heard him mention machines that could transfer Pokémon, they all looked shocked, saying things like "How could such a thing be possible?" and "We don't carry anything like that in our store."
Kawaki: "..."
So at this point in time, Poké Ball transfer machines really hadn't been developed yet?
In that case, this matter would have to be postponed for now.
Carrying the food supplies he'd purchased, Kawaki and Bewear continued on to the department store, where they bought a wall-mounted TV and a Berry Blender for making Pokéblocks.
Now he had the Berry Blender, but he'd need to make the Pokéblocks himself. Different Pokéblocks had different effects, and every Pokémon had different taste preferences.
Kawaki had plenty of time to experiment on his own, but that would take time. For convenience, he also purchased several recipes for Pokéblocks suited to Grass-type and Fairy-type Pokémon tastes.
The recipes were a bit pricey, but Kawaki could afford it.
Before leaving, the shop owner said to him: "If you ever develop any new recipes in the future, feel free to bring them here to sell."
Kawaki nodded, making a mental note of those words.
With everything purchased, Kawaki prepared to head home.
After confirming the customer's address, the department store staff immediately arranged for installation, and Kawaki and Bewear hitched a ride with them.
By the time they returned to the Daycare, evening had arrived.
Growlithe, Oddish, and the Cleffa had indeed been obediently staying in their room until he returned home.
Kawaki unlocked the door, and the group of Pokémon immediately showed delighted expressions.
Kawaki said with a smile: "Alright, we're back! You can come out and play now!"
Growlithe wagged its tail while excitedly running circles around Kawaki.
The Cleffa looked relieved as they happily ran out of the bedroom to play outside.
Oddish also let out a gentle sigh of relief, hopping and bouncing as it followed the Cleffa downstairs, returning to its orchard.
In the main hall, the department store worker was installing the TV on the wall.
He hammered and tapped, and in no time at all, the installation was complete.
The Daycare's electricity had been restored, presumably the technician from Fallarbor Town had made repairs while he was out.
Kawaki picked up the remote and tested it out, quickly seeing various TV programs appear on the screen.
There were movies, news shows, and even Pokémon child-rearing programs.
Seeing this, Kawaki slowly exhaled, feeling satisfied. Now he could use this TV to stay informed about what was happening in the outside world.
The worker installing the TV was a man who looked to be around thirty years old.
The man looked around and said: "There used to be a Daycare here a few years back, but unfortunately it closed down later. I never expected it would reopen!"
Kawaki smiled and said: "That was run by my parents before. Three years ago they passed away, and now that I've grown up, I want to carry on their legacy and continue operating this Daycare."
The man clicked his tongue: "You look about the same age as my son!"
After saying this, the man realized something and quickly dropped the subject.
Poor kids have to grow up fast - this kid's really been through a lot!
"By the way, since you just opened not long ago, do you have any Pokémon eggs for sale? I'd like to buy one for my son. He'll be turning ten in another month!"
When talking about his son, the man's whole face lit up, his voice filled with pride.
"Of course we do." Kawaki looked at the man, a father preparing a birthday gift for his son: "What kind of Pokémon does your son like?"
The man carefully recalled his son's usual preferences, then asked: "Do you have any really strong and cool-looking Pokémon?"
Strong and cool-looking?
That would be easier if this were one of the later regions.
The Alola region had Incineroar and Buzzwole, the Galar region had Obstagoon, Grimmsnarl, and Urshifu, the Paldea region had Koraidon...
But the Hoenn region really didn't have many strong and cool-looking Pokémon.
Did Machamp count?
But the problem was that the Daycare didn't currently have any Machop eggs.
After thinking briefly, Kawaki decided to take the man upstairs to the incubation room for a look.
"Please follow me. The Daycare's Pokémon eggs are all upstairs."
"Thanks for the trouble!" The man nodded.
The two went upstairs together to the incubation room.
The Hoenn League had originally sent twenty Pokémon eggs.
Excluding those that had already been sold these past few days and the Castform he planned to keep and raise himself, the Daycare currently had thirteen eggs remaining.
Poochyena, Zigzagoon, Wurmple, Trapinch, Cacnea, Chingling, Wynaut, Lotad, Aron, Miltank, Swablu, Shroomish, and Wingull.
Kawaki's gaze swept over these eggs, and the names of each Pokémon floated up from his memory.
If we're talking about strong and cool-looking...
Kawaki turned his attention to one particular egg.
"How about this egg?" He picked up that egg.
[Aron's Egg: A Pokémon egg capable of hatching the Steel/Rock-type Pokémon Aron.]
[Health Status: Healthy]
[Father: Aggron (Ace Level)]
[Mother: Aggron (Ace Level)]
"What Pokémon is this?" the man asked.
"Aron. The Pokémon inside this egg is Aron, a Steel and Rock-type Pokémon. Its final evolution, Aggron, belongs to the category of monster Pokémon. It's both strong and cool-looking, making it a very reliable companion," Kawaki explained.
Aggron... his son should like that kind of Pokémon, right?
The man's mind filled with images of his son's joy after becoming a trainer, and he immediately made his decision.
"I'll take this egg!"
"Alright, that'll be ₽150,000 total."
The man paid and left excitedly, cradling the egg.
Another egg sold! The Daycare now had twelve eggs remaining, with the shortest incubation time being just one day away.
This meant that egg would hatch tomorrow.
Kawaki turned his attention to that egg, and its information immediately surfaced in his mind.
[Chingling's Egg: A Pokémon egg capable of hatching the Psychic-type Pokémon Chingling.]
[Health Status: Healthy]
[Father: Chimecho (Ace Level)]
[Mother: Chimecho (Normal Level)]
