Ares's POV
I didn't remember crossing the boundary. One second I was at the door, the next I was inside, fury dragging me forward like a chain I couldn't break. My hand had pulled the handle so hard the wood splintered faintly near the lock, but I didn't care. All I could think of was the headline, the images, the humiliation.
Jasmine stood by the couch, frozen in place. Her face was pale, her phone lying face-down on the coffee table like a weapon she had already fired and abandoned. Leonard hovered close to her, his body stiff, trying too hard to act calm. His suit was neat, his tie straight, but his eyes gave him away… darting, nervous, flashing like warning lights.
"What the hell did you do?" I snapped. My voice cut through the room, sharp and heavy, leaving no space to hide.
