Chapter 46 - Chapter 46

The moment Professor Descar left, Asfil, Selis and Mart left together for the cafeteria. As they walked through the halls Mart asked Selis:

-Would you like to accompany me this weekend to the city?

Selis looked at Mart with her innocent, beautiful green eyes and said in a tone of voice that showed she was happy:

-Yes, I do.

Mart nodded and they continued walking, when they reached the cafeteria, Mart was met with a most unpleasant surprise:

-Mart Sevec! You seem to be enjoying your days at the academy; don't introduce me to your friends. -Eriant Lizerit expressed in a cordial and friendly tone.

-Go first, order for me what I usually eat. -Mart looked at Asfil who took Selis and continued his way to the cafeteria.

-What's the matter Mart? Are you afraid I'll steal them? Don't worry, I won't touch my friend's women. -Eriant expressed with a narrowed gaze while exposing his demonic energy at the starting point of the third rank.

"Are you bullying me?" thought Mart who, remembering the memories of the real Mart, felt his blood boil.

[Trait anger activated: host's strength temporarily increases by +30].

Eriant surprised to see Mart's angry look said to him in a joking tone:

-Why do you look at me like that? Back then you liked to accompany me, I even introduced you to friends in higher classes; you won't be sorry because of that low caste bitch.

Bang!

Eriant's palm trembled as he held Mart's fist.

[Angrily facing a stronger enemy: special reward].

Mart stepped back and told Eriant firmly:

-I'm not that damned Mart who doesn't know how to value what he's worth; don't ever come near me again, let alone what I care about.

-So that's how it is. -Eriant expressed with a malicious attitude as Mart turned his back on him.

Eriant infused demonic energy into his body and jumped towards Mart who only reacted in time to cover his face with his demonic energy.

Bang!

Even though his vision was blurred and he felt dizzy, Mart stood upright after he backed up a few meters after receiving a punch on his right cheek, Mart spat blood, but his gaze was calm.

Selis who saw what happened wanted to run to Mart's side but Asfil held her back and shook his head.

-At least you deserve that, for trying to hit a duke's son. Do you think that having reached the second rank makes you a new person? Goodbye, Mart, it's a pity, I liked you.

"Sure, what can you expect from two scumbags; if nothing else you must think I'm much weaker than you, maybe then you'll leave me alone, otherwise I'll kill you at the first opportunity," Mart thought as he watched Eriant walk away, however, everyone rumored that he had attacked first, his reputation only got worse.

Mart sat down, and began to eat his lunch, Selis seeing the red cheek from the blow, placed his hand and used his spiritual and demonic energy to help heal the wound.

-This way he will recover faster. -Selis said with warmth and concern.

-Do you have problems with Eriant? -Asfil asked.

-We just resolved issues from the past. -Replied Mart who watched as Asfil looked in another direction, "I'm sorry, but I can't tell you the truth, at least not yet".

In the end, Mart looked at the two of them and said seriously:

-Stay away from that guy, he's trouble.

After they both nodded, they continued eating, after which Mart said goodbye and headed for the library.

••••

Mart arrived at the entrance of the library, and although Selis had done a great job to heal his cheek was still slightly red and burning a bit as Eriant had concentrated his demonic energy at the exact moment he struck causing the residual demonic energy from his blow to cause a slower healing. Mart on his part, was circulating his demonic energy to disperse the residual energy of the blow to heal. Standing in front of the reception desk, Emy looked for a few seconds at Mart's cheek.

-Yes, your cheerful reading partner got beaten up, you must be disappointed. -Mart said, pretending to be sorry as a joke.

-It would be stranger for you to win at beating when you study spells and curses without stopping. -Emy said in a sympathetic voice.

-I knew you would understand, I'll say goodbye, I have a book to read. -Mart walked away after saying goodbye between the shelves of the library until he disappeared inside what seemed to be only a black wall for those who didn't have authorization.

Emy just watched him and sighed the instant he disappeared into the dreaded mouth.

••••

Mart entered the restricted library and saw no one at the front desk, so he took out of his demonic bag the booklet he had been given earlier and as he held it in his hands he thought of the book entitled "Demonic Hearts".

When the outline of the library appeared on the brochure, Mart noticed that they had put the book back in its place, so again he had to go looking for it. As Mart walked among the shelves, all he could think about was the book he wanted to read, upon arriving at the indicated place, Mart climbed the ladder that slid up to where he was, took the book carefully, went down again and headed towards the desks; this time, with nothing and no one to interrupt him, Mart opened the first page of the book that had the following message from the author written on it:

Merac Grensad

Are we demons such powerful beings? Do you know what a demon is? You are mistaken if you still believe that you are a demon, you who read this book are only degraded remains of what the demons really were; but, perhaps as in everything there are always one or two that stand out, but believe me, those that stand out do not even reach a third of what the true demons were. I am not insulting them, I am only asserting, because I witnessed the last vestiges of greatness of the demon race. And believe me, to achieve the power of a true demon, one must be a true demon.

Still I hope that someday my words will be the way for the successors of the demons to rediscover the essence of what it is to be a true demon, only then will the demon race prosper again.

Turning to the next page, the first chapter Mart read was titled:

Pandemonium.

Ruin.
