Chapter 27 - [27] The Assignment!

[Ding! Quest Completed]

[Objective: Listen and comprehend the meridian opening method]

[Reward: Unlocking ten meridians]

Before the words could sink into Theon's brain, his body shuddered as his primal energy along with his Symbiote gathered within him, forming a massive drill that locked into a location within his body.

Just as Theon was stunned, trying to figure that was happening, the drill made of primal energy and Symbiote turned with incredible speed as they drilled toward a particular point in his meridian.

In that moment, there was a cracking sound as a barrier seem to shatter within him. Energy surged into the meridian point, filling it. As the energy surged into that point, the purity and quantity of his primal energy increased by a significant amount.

But the drill didn't stop there, it moved and locked onto another spot in his body and drilled further.

Within a minute, ten muffled 'bang's exploded within Theon, jolting his body upwards and down as his body trembled.

As the tenth special meridian unlocked, Theon felt an extreme feeling of refreshness overwhelm him, making him shudder, casing goosebumps all over his skin.

The putty of his primal energy had increased by 50 percent and the quantity also by 50 percent!

Theon couldn't help but grin happily. "Just the reward increased my strength by this much, I'm definitely looking forward to my future."

-----

"Three-Step Kill. First move: Instant Kill!"

Theon gripped the massive saber with both hands and he felt his primal energy surge as his cells boiled as though on fire as they slammed repeatedly against each other, creating a humming sound that echoed the throughout his body.

The air around him suddenly seem to solidify as Theon felt an explosion of electric current surges through him.

Suddenly, his blade shivered and released a 'Ding' sound.

At that instant, Theon vanished. There was no blur, no afterimages, just complete, utter disappearance of his body.

In that split second, the world seem to turn completely black as a single white line as thin as a spider's thread stretched forwards with incredible speed.

Just a second later—

"BOOM!"

The surrounding where he was previously standing exploded, sending shockwaves that blasted everything in the training room away.

At that moment. Theon had appeared on the other side of the room, crossing over fifty meters in just a few milliseconds.

Suddenly, the combat bot at the center of the room trembled and its iron body trembled violently as it took a step back.

The ground trembled as its iron feet slammed heavily to the ground.

If it wasn't for the fact that the combat bot was made with a special material making it incredibly hard to destroy, That strike would have completely severed the neck of the combat bot.

But it only left a white mark on it.

Theon gasped as he felt his heart clenched and then released, pumping blood into his body with incredible speed.

But apart from the inconvenience, he was alright. At this state of comprehension, the first strike of the Three-Step Kill had been completely mastered to the extreme, voiding all side effect of the strike.

Relaxing his stance, he turned back and faced the Combat Bot.

At this moment, the Combat bot released an holographic image.

"Attack = Genetic Soldier 5."

Theon didn't even read through it as he spoke.

"Second move: Silver Lining!"

The entire room seem to tremble as a devastating amount of primal event erupted out like a wave.

The void shook and a white mark turned the entire world dim as a silver light surged through the room, slashing forwards like a shooting star towards the Combat bot.

"DING!"

Sparks flew off the entire room as the blade collided heavily against the combat bit with double the strength.

In the other side of the room, Theon's face flushed read as his blood circulation seemed to have been forcefully paused but fortunately, it wasn't able to reverse.

Theon gritted his teeth and circulated his primal energy through his body, forcibly calming his nerves.

After a few seconds, he finally managed to return to normal.

"What a crazy move."

He couldn't believe someone actually create such a self inflicted move just to double the power of a single strike. It was borderline suicidal.

"Attack = Genetic Soldier 6."

Theon was incredibly satisfied. He had managed to raise his primal energy to Level 3 but with this two moves and the Tier II relic, he was actually able to leap through and possess the power comparable to three stages ahead of him. Moreover, he hadn't even used his Symbiote form yet.

He couldn't help but want to test it but he realized he might be late.

Satisfied with his current strength he went ahead to wash up, sort some things and exited the building.

It was finally time to upgrade to an Elite-Grade student.

Theon had exited the building when he saw several groups of first year students gathered at the foot of the mountain, discussing with excitement and nervousness on their faces.

At first he ignored them but then his sharp ears began to overhear a few words.

"…can't believe the academy is sending us first-year students…"

"…dimensional overlap in Helium City…"

"…F-grade catastrophe zone…"

Theon slowed his foot step as he strained his ears for more information.

A nervous-looking young man gestured frantically with flushed face.

"I checked the announcement three times to make sure I wasn't seeing things," he time was mixed with anxiety.

"The dimensional world has overlapped with Helium City. The entire population has been evacuated, but dimensional beasts are pouring through the breach."

"I think the beasts from the zone are from Rank 1 to Rank 9 Primitive Beasts but there might be some Rank 1 Origin beasts there." A student spoke.

"That's why it's classified as an F-grade catastrophe. The academy has decided to use this crisis as a practical training exercise for new students."

Theon didn't have a single change in expression.

Dimensional overlaps were serious threats that could devastate entire regions if left unchecked.

But to Theon, he wasn't really interested in it.

"The assignment requirements are brutal though," another student added, checking his holowatch nervously.

"Each new student must kill at least one Rank 9 Primitive Beast to pass. Thankfully we have to form groups of five people to enter the dimensional zone together. Otherwise, we might be in trouble."
