Chapter 4 - Hanse Belmorn (2)

With the defeat of demon king. recovery comes naturally, but not all managed to fit back into the "new" society.

The new society were built by eight legendary heroes. It was an effort to control others and build a hierarchy, high level awakeners were given their own territories and titles, while the less fortunate suffered even more.

This system gave birth to a movement, wich then quickly grew into the most dangerous organization. They were commonly called villains, a bunch of criminals trying to take over everything.

The story follows a young prince, Feron Fendwyr. Son of Novius Fendwyr. King of Eryndor, the Kingdom of light.

The biggest and strongest out of eight.

Feron at the age ten, attended the coming of age ritual. Where noble kids his age will receive a blessing from the Goddess of life Irithiel. They are given different kinds of elements fitted to them.

When Feron received his, everyone was shocked. As he was the first ever to get four different elements.

Light, fire, earth, and air.

Feron quickly became a rising star, genius of all geniuses. The chosen one.

At the age of 16 he attended Thaloria Academy, the most prestigious school in the world. It's where the real story would start.

.

"I remember now... This is the novel i had been reading before i died."

The reason i had died in the first place.

I still don't know.

"What the!?"

The world around me started spinning.

*Drip ~ drip*

My nose started bleeding, followed by a sudden urge to puke.

*Urrked*

I tried to cover my mouth but it kept going.

Cassemir and Angar looked over to see what is going on, but when they saw what was happening. They were horrified.

I was vomiting blood.

Finally, it was over.

"Was me almost dying from losing blood, really necessary?"

I said to myself.

Opening the book once again, I looked at my stats.

.

"Damned to roam the world for eternity. That means I can't die, I won't be able to go back!"

I shouted inwardly.

I wanted to scream and shout curse, but out of decency. I kept it all inside.

I have bothered Cassemir and Angar enough, the least i could do is to shut up.

Having no energy left to think, i decided to just rest for the night.

...

When i woke up, Angar was sleeping next to me. He looks exhausted, dark circles under his eyes. Likely from operating the carriage the whole night.

How was your sleep?

Cassemir asked.

It was... Surprisingly good

I answered.

"I slept like a baby, as if i don't have problems"

Sighing inwardly. Scratching my head.

There's food in the boxes over there. Help yourself.

Thank you.

I made my way over the boxes, and opened one.

Truthfully, i was a bit disappointed at what the food is.

The box is full of canned tomatoes and biscuits.

But who am i to complain, i reminded myself that i was nothing but an extra mouth to feed. An extra weight.

I opened one canned of tomatoes and biscuits. then, ate it in silence.

By the way, what were you doing in that woods.

Cassemir asked. Breaking the silence.

I..i ran away from home.

I said hesitantly.

Home? You don't mean...

If you're thinking about "that" village before you enter the forest. Yes, i ran away from that place.

Cassemir seemed taken a back from my rather calm answer, considering the brutal fate it faced.

But i pay it no mind, and continued eating.

Cassemir, sensing my reluctancy. Did not press for anymore questions.

.

After traveling for about 10 hours. The carriage stopped. Cassemir explained that we have to set camp and let the two horses rest.

We should be able to reach the border of Feyrath, tomorrow morning.

Upon hearing the name, i felt a cold chills down my spine.

Feyrath is known for it's endless war against the void creatures, it has been 213 years since the rifts appeared. They only managed to close 3.

So far, another four out of fifteen, biggest rifts are located in feyrath.

But there's another issue. Feyrath, is also famous for it's unending winter. Just like the monsters, the cold is brutal and unforgiving.

"I'm fucked"

I grimaced.

Hanse, you can have this.

Pulling me out of my thoughts. Angar tossed me a small dagger.

Gather some dry sticks so we can start a fire. Oh and don't wander too far.

I nodded and went off.

.

"Haaah, i wonder what will happen to me once we reached feyrath. Will they force me to fight those ugly things."

Sighing, i picked up a nearby fallen branch.

Suddenly i heard a rustling sounds around me.

Unsheathing my dagger, i used one of the sticks i picked up and threw it on the direction of the sound.

One second.

Five seconds.

Nothing happened, so i planned to head back. But once i turned my back against the bushes.

The rustling sounds came back, but this time. Much louder.

And when i turned around again, Something big is charging towards me at a very fast pace.

Shit!

I could only curse in horror.

.

"The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time."
