Chapter 96 - Makoto's Little Sisters

The week crawled by in tense anticipation. Now it was Saturday morning, and Makoto groaned as consciousness pulled him from sleep.

He cracked open an eye and realized he was now a human pretzel. Yuna was draped over him like a possessive, sleeping blanket, her face buried in his chest. Mika was curled against his back, her hand still loosely holding his.

"Wake up, Mika, Yuna. We're leaving at lunch. Did you two remember to buy me some proper clothes?"

"Ugh, five more minutes," Yuna grumbled from under a pile of blankets. She was a small lump in the middle of his bed, refusing to move.

A soft, musical giggle came from behind him. Mika was already awake, sitting up and stretching with a graceful, cat-like motion. She was wearing one of his old hoodies, the sleeves completely swallowing her hands, and nothing else.

Her hair formed a messy halo around her head. "Good morning," she said, voice husky from sleep. "And yes, we remembered."

She pointed to a neatly folded pile of clothes at the foot of the bed. The outfit surprised him: dark, well-fitting jeans, a soft charcoal-gray Henley shirt, and a clean black jacket. It was the kind of outfit that said, "I'm a responsible, dependable adult," and not, "I just spent the last forty-eight hours in a non-stop, three-way incestuous orgy."

"Yuna picked the jeans," Mika explained. "She has very specific ideas about how your ass should look. And I picked the shirt. It brings out your eyes." A small smile crossed her face.

Yuna, who had been shamelessly eavesdropping, finally sat up. Her unicorn pajamas were wrinkled and twisted. "We both agreed on the jacket," she said, yawning wide enough to show her surprisingly sharp canines. "To hide your disgusting fat belly." She stretched. "Now, who's making coffee?"

Makoto chuckled, a low, affectionate sound. "Well, that was better than I expected. I was worried you two would buy me some cringey web shirt instead." He grinned at them and pecked each of them on the lips before getting up to change. "Morning coffee and breakfast are on me. I love you both."

Yuna swatted at him half-heartedly, a furious blush spreading across her face. "D-Don't say weird, mushy crap like that in the morning!" she sputtered. But she leaned into the kiss anyway, sighing softly.

Mika, on the other hand, just smiled, a slow and radiant smile. She caught his face in her hands as he leaned over her, her thumbs tracing the curve of his jaw. "We love you too," she said, her voice a soft, gentle murmur. "Even when you're being an idiot." She kissed him back, slow and lingering, tasting of sleep and morning breath.

Yuna watched the exchange, a thunderous expression on her face. The moment Mika released him, Yuna scrambled across the futon and grabbed his face. "Hey! That's not fair! I'm the main wife, I get the last kiss!" she demanded, crashing her own lips against his in a messy, demanding, and possessive kiss that was pure, unfiltered Yuna.

He left them tangled in blankets and headed to the kitchen. As he made coffee, a loud shriek came from the bedroom.

"HEY! GET YOUR FILTHY HANDS OFF MY BIG BRO'S BOXERS! THEY STILL SMELL LIKE HIM!"

A soft giggle from Mika. "But Yuna-chan, you just had the real thing right here." Silence. Then a soft murmur from Yuna. "...Fine. But I get to lick the drool off his pillow first."

Makoto shook his head with a fond smile. He pretended not to hear anything and called out, "Toast and coffee are ready. Come get breakfast when you're changed."

They emerged a few minutes later, looking surprisingly normal. Yuna wore her usual slightly-too-small band t-shirt and shorts. Mika had on a simple sundress, her hair brushed and tied back. You'd never know they'd just been fighting over territorial rights to his dirty laundry.

They ate in comfortable silence, just the clink of silverware and quiet chewing. Then, as if on cue, both looked up at once. "So," Yuna said. "The game plan."

Mika nodded. "We're your little sisters. Sweet, innocent, and maybe a bit overprotective." She took a delicate sip of coffee. "And very observant. We notice things. Like when a girl is too friendly with our big brother."

A mischievous glint appeared in her eyes. "And when we notice things, we might get creative."

Makoto shrugged casually. "Fine. But at least try to contain it until after her parents leave, okay? It would be a mess to explain if you two act weird."

Yuna snorted. "Contain it? Where's the fun in that?" But she relented slightly. "Fine. We'll be good. Until they leave."

Mika smiled sweetly, though it didn't quite reach her eyes. "Of course. We wouldn't want to make a bad impression." She took another sip of coffee, her gaze never leaving his. "But after they leave..." A slow, wicked smile spread across her face. "All bets are off."

She looked at Yuna with an unspoken challenge. Yuna grinned, feral and triumphant. "Right."

They looked like two sharks who'd just scented blood in the water.
