Chapter 39 - Beat ³⁵★Let's check☆

Let's check

It was almost night, and the entire city looked stunning under the starlight.

Smart stepped out onto the balcony, savoring the view he adored.

Even though his eyes were fixed on the sky, his mind wandered elsewhere.

Before him appeared the alluring image of that person…

What exactly was he trying to do?—this question had haunted Smart for the past two days, a question he couldn't answer.

His thoughts drifted back several hours, to Jin's office.

Damn it… even though he teases, even though he's so authoritative and cold in appearance, why does that face seem so cute to me?

A faint smile crossed Smart's face.

Let's see how long you can resist this face… he thought, mimicking a smirk, as if he were already plotting something in his mind.

Those thoughts were interrupted by a shout from below:

"Smart! What are you doing up there? Counting stars? Come on, get down!" Han yelled at the top of his lungs.

Doesn't he have a phone to shout like it's the Middle Ages? Smart thought, signaling him to stop.

But once Han started, he wouldn't stop:

"How many stars are there? Did you count them all?"

Smart ran down quickly and shot him a warning glance.

"Okay, okay, I messed up. Let's go," he said, opening the car door.

Smart fastened his seatbelt and asked quietly,

— Where's Ren? Did you talk to him?

— I did, but he might not come tonight. Maybe he has some personal things to take care of, — Han replied, giving him a sly look.

— Behave yourself, don't make me hit you, — Smart said seriously.

Han chuckled, studying him carefully.

Do you know that your face and actions... hmm... theu're hard to match?

Smart didn't answer; he just gave a crooked glance.

— Uhuhu… okay, still… that face of yours is cute anyway…

As soon as they arrived at Light and started getting ready for their shift, Ren suddenly appeared behind them.

— Ren, what are you doing here? — Han asked, nudging him lightly with his elbow.

— Hmmm, aren't you going to spend the night with someone special? — he added teasingly.

Ren reacted quickly, grabbing him by the neck and holding on tight.

— -Should I dump all my anger on you?

— Smart, help me! — Han shouted, struggling to break free.

Smart smiled lightly and leaned closer to his face.

— This is something I should have done the moment I saw you… — he said, then walked away to start working.

The atmosphere was on another level. Soft lights fell across everyone's faces, making it feel like the stress of the day had completely melted away. Shots clinked to the rhythm of the hip hop music, filling the air with energy. Everything felt almost perfect.

Less than an hour later, Jin and Leo appeared at the entrance. Both looked striking in their outfits. Jin was dressed all in black—tight jeans and a fitted t-shirt that showed off his shape. Leo's outfit was almost identical, with just one difference: a cap and a pair of black sunglasses .

They went and sat in their usual spot, settling in comfortably. Their goal was clear—they were there to watch the two people they cared about.

Jin lit a cigarette and, without turning his head from Leo, began speaking.

"So scared of Ren that you had to hide yourself?" A teasing smirk appeared on his lips.

"Scared? Are you sure you're talking to me?"

"Leo shot back, trying to pull out a cigarette

"Did Ren actually manage to get your pants down?" Jin asked Leo, his voice low, teasing, and full of challenge. His eyes locked on Leo's, daring him to answer.

Leo looked him in the eyes and let out a light laugh.

"How do you think? You really know me? You think there's anyone who could pull my pants down?"

"Hmm… you know there was someone who nearly did, right?" Jin said, keeping his gaze locked on Leo.

Leo remained silent, resting his hand on his face.

Jin leaned closer, his gaze sharp. "If I hadn't shown up in time that day… you know what would have happened, right?"

"Jin… you never told me… what happened with him?" Leo asked in a low voice, as if the weight of the past was pressing down on him.

"Some things are better left unknown in this life, aren't they?" Jin replied calmly.

"Now tell me… how far has your relationship with Ren gone? You know the mission's over, and you can leave him anytime…"

"I know… but I feel like I'm having fun with him, yet I still can't seem to break him. I don't know what I should do… I don't think he'd ever let me be the top."

"Then accept being bottom," Jin said simply, a teasing smile playing on his lips.

"You jerk… that's the advice you give me? Keep it to yourself when you're with Smart…

"…if you can actually make him yours and keep him under your control.".."

Jin took a sip of his drink and turned toward Leo.

"You know how long I've waited to have him in my hands, right?

I don't want to waste another second.

I'll make him mine, and he'll belong to me until I'm completely satisfied."

"What exactly are you planning?" Leo asked, a little uneasy.

"You know me," Jin said, blowing out a thin stream of cigarette smoke.

"'Once I decide on something

nothing will stop me."

Just wait and see."

"Please, don't go too hard on him.

I told you, he's nothing like the others you've been with…

He's really something special."

"That's exactly why I've waited so long for him.

If he were like the others, I would have claimed him the very first day I saw him."

"This is something new for me…

"You know I always preferred guys who let their legs fall open for me with just one look—easy, simple, exactly what I needed."

Guys I wanted to sleep with once and then erase from my memory.

But this time… fuck, it's different. And that difference turns me on even more.

When I think about Smart, I don't want to sleep with him just once—I want him tied to me every second.

When I see Smart's face turn red in front of me, when he loses control and tries so damn hard to hide it… you have no idea how much I love that moment.

He still hasn't realized it yet, but the moment my eyes landed on him… he had no escape.

He will be mine, and he will satisfy every crazy desire in my head."

Leo looked at him, chewing slowly, clearly surprised.

"Your mind has gotten really filthy, you know that, right?" he said with a small smirk.

"Or maybe you're already in love and you just don't realize it yet?"

"Me? In love? What the hell are you talking about?

Leo, I think you know me well…

The word love is something that doesn't exist," Jin said with full conviction.

"Heh, okay… I believed you," Leo replied with a touch of irony.

"Let's check on the guys now, see if they're here tonight," Leo said, lowering his sunglasses slightly to get a better look.

"There he is—my guy. Exactly where I expected him," Leo said.

"Look behind the counter.

I really don't get why the hell he works here.

He doesn't look like someone struggling financially…

So why would he choose this job?

Don't tell me there's someone important here?" Leo raised his voice, lowering his sunglasses to see better.

"I swear I'll kill him with my own hands if that's the reason…" Ren muttered under his breath.

Meanwhile, Jin's eyes finally landed on Smart

and something dark tightened inside him.

He gripped his glass so hard the drink spilled all over the floor.

"Just like I thought…

Why the hell did you come here?

You should only be in front of my eyes—every moment."

"Leo, I don't want to see Smart here ever again," Jin said, his voice sharp with irritation.

"Well, I don't want to see Ren here either," Leo shot back, leaning into his chair.

"So what do we do?"

"You know exactly what you have to do, don't you?

I don't want to come here again and see my guy in this place."

"Jin, stop. You can't go this far," Leo said sharply.

"Have you even thought about the consequences?

Why are you becoming so toxic?

What the hell are you trying to do?

He's not yours yet, and you're already doing all this?

Take a step back and think.

If Smart finds out one day… have you even considered that—"

""Maybe by then I'll be done with him, and I won't even care."

Jin cut in coldly before Leo could finish.

But Leo continued anyway:

"And what if you're not? What if you're still together when he finds out? Then what?"

Jin took a drag of his cigarette, exhaling slowly.

"If it's like you say… then I'd never let him find out the truth

Even if I had to lock him in the bedroom myself.

And even if he finds out anyway…"

He tilts his head slightly, smirking arrogantly,

"…he will still be mine."

"You're insane," Leo said, turning his gaze toward Ren.

Smart was serving a table full of guys who were a bit drunk.

He leaned over to place their drinks on the table when, suddenly, one of them draped a hand around Smart's waist.

Smart turned sharply, locking eyes with him, his voice sharp and warning:

"Hands where they belong… or I'll put them there myself."

The guy's body was clearly well-built, exuding strength.

"That sweet face of yours… it's coming with me tonight," he said, his tone commanding.

Smart grabbed his hand with all his strength and pushed it down. He leaned in closer and whispered softly,

"In your dreams… maybe I'll come."

"So go ahead, dream tonight—maybe it'll come true."

He was about to pull away when he felt another hand grab his arm, accompanied by a sharp shout:

"How dare you refuse me?" the guy growled, tugging hard at him.

Smart lowered his gaze to the hand on his arm, about to respond, when another hand gripped him tightly and pulled him back.

It was Ren—who had noticed something was happening and rushed straight to Smart.

Ren's eyes darkened, almost turning pitch‑black, and he could barely control his anger.

"Who the hell do you think you are, touching him?" he growled, squeezing the guy's wrist so hard the boy winced in pain.

"Ren, please… let's just go," Smart pleaded, tugging at Ren's arm.

"It's not worth it. Please, just leave."

"You're both going to pay for this tonight," the guy threatened, but Ren ignored him completely.

This scene unfolded right before Jin and Leo's eyes.

A surge of anger consumed them both, making it impossible to stay still.

Jin was ready to step in, but Leo barely managed to hold him back.

He lit a cigarette, his hands shaking from nerves and the fury he couldn't control.

Leo, too, nearly lost his composure at the sight of Ren in that situation.

The mere thought that someone could have laid a hand on Ren pushed him to the edge.

"I can't believe that guy touched my Smart! Does he even realize what the hell he did?" Jin shouted in anger, pounding his fist on the table.

"I know," Leo said quietly. "That guy also touched my Ren…

"Without saying another word, their eyes met.

In silence, both of them stood up immediately and strode toward the exit of the pub.

AFTER SCENE

Ren was watching Leo intently.

"If the phone rings… pick it up," he said, stretching his neck to see who it was.

Leo chuckled, reluctantly picking up the phone even though he didn't want to at that moment.

"Go on… tell me," his voice trembled slightly.

"Get ready… we're at Light tonight," Jin's voice came through, and he immediately hung up before Leo could react.

Leo turned to Ren with an awkward smile.

"Sorry… our plans won't work out today. I have to meet my brother…"

Leo took a deep breath.

"If you lie to me, you know the consequences, right?"

Leo looked him in the eyes and spoke in a seductive tone, taking a few steps closer and pressing a soft kiss to his jaw.

"I know… how could I even dare?" Leo said, giving a sweet smile, letting Ren feel the quiet authority behind his words.
