Chapter 59 - Beat ⁵⁹ ★“Does he know?”☆

"Does he know?"

"Smart???"

Smart flinched instantly, placing one hand over his heart.

Damn it—he scared me. Why is he yelling like that?

"What are you doing?" Jin asked, turning his head toward him.

"What am I doing?" Smart replied without taking his eyes off the road.

"I'm swimming—can't you see? Of course I'm driving. Are you blind?"

Both of his hands were gripping the steering wheel tightly, as if someone might snatch the car away at any second. He didn't even glance at Jin.

"Blind? I'd rather be blind than watch you drive like this. Even a turtle would overtake us," Jin said, sneaking a look at him from the corner of his eye.

"Stop teasing me," Smart muttered.

"You're the one who insisted on putting me behind the wheel. I told you I'm not very good at driving."

Then he added, a bit more seriously,

"It's night, the road is bad… I have to take care of your safety, don't I?"

"Now just endure it until we get there," he said quietly.

"And stop yelling—you're distracting me, okay? I'm trying to stay focused."

"We'd probably get there faster if we parked here and walked," Jin added, continuing to provoke him, just to get a reaction.

His entire goal was clear: to test Smart's patience until he snapped, just to see what he was truly capable of.

But Smart was prepared for this and remained completely calm, keeping up a normal demeanor. He had no intention of falling into Jin's trap.

Jin, on the other hand, had a strong feeling that Smart was playing with him, but he simply couldn't do anything. It was the first time in his life that he just sat and watched, powerless to react.

What troubled him the most was one question:

Why does Smart hide things that aren't really dangerous for their relationship? What's bothering him so much?

Leo's words suddenly echoed in his mind:

"He hasn't done it yet because he surely knows you well—he thinks that if he did, you would stop him from a lot of things."

Jin turned his face toward Smart and looked at him with a soft gaze, lost in his emotions.

Smart's profile was almost perfect— his eyes, nose, lips, jaw…

Everything looked as if it had been carefully drawn by hand.

Jin watched him as if starving for that being, his eyes slowly tracing the lines of Smart's face—his nose, his lips—then drifting lower, down to his neck.

For a brief moment, his mind betrayed him, and imagination took over.

He found himself picturing how much he wanted to savor that elegant neck, how badly he wanted to press his lips against that beautifully colored skin, to leave his mark on every inch of him.

The thought made him bite his lip without realizing it.

But at that very moment, it was as if he had been slapped awake.

He pulled back immediately, pretending that none of those thoughts had ever crossed his mind.

He swallowed lightly, as if trying to hide his discomfort.

Even though Smart's eyes were fixed on the road, his reflexes were sharp, and he could watch Jin from the corner of his eye at any moment.

He could feel it—Jin was devouring him with his gaze alone.

Your body language makes it obvious… your fantasies are unfolding, taking on a more intense form than usual!

I'd like to know what's going on inside your mind, what you're capable of creating.

How far does your imagination go with me!!

Damn… I want to know this so badly.

And yes! I want your fantasy to be wilder than ever.

I want that fantasy to exist only for me!!

These weren't words he spoke out loud, but thoughts he wished he could ask.

"Smart, every time I call, I want you to answer. I don't want a repeat of today… okay?" Jin said, his voice firm this time.

Smart pressed his lips together, pulled out his phone, and held it toward Jin.

"You can take it and see for yourself. I'm not lying—I really had it on silent."

Jin's gaze moved to the phone and noticed the wallpaper Smart had set:

The beauty he was looking at captured his full attention.

It was a photo of Smart, wearing a dark purple hoodie with the hood up over his head.

His bangs fell lightly over his eyes, and his gaze was so deep and sexy that it drew Jin in completely.

The photo was a half-profile, showing all of Smart's charm clearly!

It was probably a photo Smart had taken during a photoshoot in "Deep style."

Jin stared at the photo, unable to hide the proud smile he felt for the beauty of his boyfriend.

"Jin… see? I had it on silent. Go ahead, look," Smart continued, teasingly stretching the moment.

"No, there's no need… I trust you," Jin said calmly.

But as he tried to look elsewhere, he noticed there were more than three missed calls from him on the phone.

Smart hadn't even checked his phone since he went with Ren to the 'Beat Pub'.

The feeling of nervousness was even stronger than Jin's at that moment. He couldn't pretend he hadn't seen it. Not this time!

Smart simply withdrew his hand to put the phone back in place, when Jin snatched it from him in a swift motion.

Smart was left stunned, unable to understand what was going on with Jin.

"Let me set the phone to ring," Jin said, his voice now clearly irritated.

Smart just nodded.

"The passcode?" Jin gestured with his eyes for him to show it.

Point the phone at me," Smart replied calmly, not thinking about how Jin might feel since he hadn't given him the code.

Damn… he chose not to tell me the code!

Me… his boyfriend!

Still, in that moment of nerves, he held the phone in front of Smart's face, thinking deeply and realizing that Smart didn't fully trust him.

Meanwhile, Smart hadn't thought much at all. He simply took it quickly, unlocking the phone with his face, without overthinking a thing.

The first thing Jin noticed was the number—the one that had called Smart six times.

The whole pretext was exactly to see and check who was behind that number.

Jin immediately went to the messages, but there was nothing!

He checked WhatsApp too, but still nothing!! Empty!

Fuck, fuck, who could it be—

He took a deep breath.

"Smart," he said in a serious voice, "this number has called you six times. Who is it?"

Smart quickly turned his head, and when he saw that there really were six missed calls, he was speechless.

He couldn't speak, and chewed lightly.

Who the hell called me?

Could it be the person I'm thinking of??

"If it's Him, thank God I deleted the message," Smart thought, his heart tightening painfully.

Damn, why didn't I check the phone earlier before giving it to Jin!

Smart thought, unable to find a solution.

Now, Jin's eyes had taken on a different expression, wilder than ever!!!

Jin took a deep breath, trying to keep his composure.

"Stop the car now," his voice rang out more commanding and firmer than before.

Damn… we just calmed down, and now we're going to start arguing again? Smart thought as he stopped the car and replayed the scene in his mind.

Jin unbuckled his seatbelt and moved closer to Smart, approaching his face.

"Do you have something to tell me?"

Smart looked him in the eyes and took a deep breath, as if something was bothering him.

He didn't know exactly what to say, but he knew he had to act normal so things wouldn't escalate further.

He looked at Jin confidently, giving the impression that there was nothing to hide.

"As you can see, it's a number that isn't saved in my contacts… how am I supposed to know who it is?"

Should I do some magic to figure out who called?

He lowered his gaze slightly, showing that Jin's question had annoyed him.

Smart thought this was probably the best way to calm Jin's nerves, at least for now!

Jin smiled with a hint of irony.

He placed one hand gently on Smart's jaw, pressing slightly and never breaking eye contact.

"Should we call it and find out who it is?"

Smart frowned a little, but he couldn't show any hesitation in front of Jin.

Just a few missed calls, and he's already going insane.

"Imagine if he had found out about the message… I don't know how far his madness could go. What would he be capable of?"" – Smart thought, his heart pounding.

"Tell me," Jin said, preparing to dial.

"Should we call it? Don't make me wait long for an answer. You know my patience has a limit… and it's very short.

Don't make me push my patience to zero…"

Smart was just trying to figure out what Jin had in mind and what he wanted to achieve.

"Maybe he just wants to provoke me to see how I'll react," he thought.

Alright then, I'll try to turn this situation in my favor.

He looked Jin in the eyes and spoke with a soft, confident tone.

"If you don't believe me when I say I don't know who it is… then call it—if that's what you want."

"Go on… what are you waiting for? Was your patience really that short?"

Jin looked Smart straight in the eyes, slid his hand behind his neck, and pulled him forcefully toward his face.

"Look me in the eyes and tell me… would you dare to cross the line?"

That sentence. That tone.

Smart almost felt his breath catch.

Something heavy pressed down inside his chest.

They had just started their relationship, and Jin was already thinking dark thoughts.

It was too much.

The truth was, Smart hated that line.

He hated even the thought that someone could imagine he would do such a thing.

In that moment, his vision darkened, and his mind sank into an empty space where nothing else mattered.

After a few seconds, he drew in a few deep breaths, reminding himself to stay calm.

His Jin wasn't himself in that moment.

Jealousy had taken over—and was speaking for him.

When something hurt him, or when something displeased him, Smart often chose silence.

And this was exactly one of those times.

He looked into Jin's eyes and knew for certain that Jin didn't really mean what he was saying.

But Jin couldn't bear the silence.

It was suffocating. His mind was spiraling.

"Smart, answer me, damn it! Now!"

Smart said nothing.

He didn't want to continue the argument—but Jin couldn't understand that.

The jealousy boiling inside him was pushing him closer and closer to losing control.

This time, Jin gripped his neck even tighter, and a commanding, harsh, cutting voice escaped him.

"Push me any further, and I'll force you to speak!"

Jin didn't realize he was only making the situation worse with those threatening words.

With a slow, deliberate movement, Smart gently moved Jin's hand away from his neck.

"Force me?" he asked, his voice calm, almost teasing.

"Then… go ahead. Don't hesitate."

Jin looked him straight in the eyes.

"Smart, behave yourself. You're making me lose control," Jin shouted again, unaware of the effect he was having.

"Behave myself?"

Smart chuckled softly, a little embarrassed.

"I think you should turn your gaze inward and check your own behavior."

He leaned a little closer.

"Actually, I'm being gentle. I'm even asking you—inviting you—to act… to make me speak."

Jin's breathing grew heavier.

Smart's calmness only made him more aggressive, more reckless.

"Smart…" Jin whispered.

"Don't speak."

Smart put his finger over his lips.

"Don't push this further. Every word now could destroy us both."

But Jin wanted an answer.

And he wouldn't stop until he heard it.

"Let it destroy us! I don't care! Just say it!"

He looked him straight in the eyes.

"Would you dare?"

Smart felt even sadder.

Not because Jin doubted him—but because he still didn't understand the effect he was having.

That force.

That wild way of speaking.

That loss of control.

It said so much.

He reached out, lightly grasping Jin's jaw, and spoke again, calm, letting his gaze move from eyes to lips and back.

"Seems like you have no intention of stopping, huh?

You're free to think whatever you want. That's your right.

But… if you've come this far…

do you really think there's anything left to say between us?"
