Chapter 13
Francesca's POV.
The haunting silence that hung in the air sucked air out of my throat.
"Your wife to be?", He repeated.
"Yes. I was going to tell you about it, but you were busy with other things", Enzo explained.
We both stared at his father, waiting for him to show if he bought it or not.
"What's her name?", he asked.
"Francesca."
"And how did you meet her? What does she do for a living?"
It took Enzo a couple of minutes to think of something else. There was no way he was going to tell his father that a stripper that somehow turned into his sex doll.
"We met through a mutual friend a while back, and we've been in love ever since."
The old man's piercing eyes searched through my soul for a fault - something that would give us in.
"Good. I'm happy you finally took on my advice", he said and finally lowered the gun from my head. "You both are getting married tomorrow."
Wait. What?
I looked up in shock.
"Tomorrow?"
"Yes. If you both claim to be in love, then you both should get married as soon as possible. That's the only way I can believe that she's your wife, and the only way we can shut her up while being alive. Once she's part of the family, she's automatically signed a blood oath never to spill a word about the evil that goes on within us to any other soul."
What the fuck was going on?
A blood oath?
All of this just to keep my mouth shut and not say what I just saw?!
"Plus", Paolo looked up at his younger carbon copy and patted his back. "I need grandchildren. I'm not getting any younger", he sighed and made for the door. "Congratulations in advance", he said and left.
Was this man crazy?!!
How could I get married to someone who I didn't know?!!
Wasn't Enzo going to say something?!
Why the hell was he falling through with his?!
Enzo immediately grabbed me by the arm and took me down to the hallway into his room.
"What's going on?!", I exclaimed immediately as he got in and locked the door. "Why didn't you tell your father that I was only here for your pleasure?", I questioned, ignoring the pit shame that welled up in me as I asked that question.
"It was either that or he'd end your life there and then. I didn't ask you to go around looking for things that didn't concern you. You were a witness to that murder. Except you don't want to live, you're meant to be grateful to me for saving your life", he undid the buttons on his work shirt so that he could breathe properly.
"So... You mean we're getting married tomorrow?", I repeated, to be sure that I wasn't in a nightmare.
"Not so fast", he walked to his drawer and brought out a document with a pen. "You have to sign this contract", he gave it to me.
"What is this all about again?", I groaned, getting dizzy from the ridiculous situations I kept finding myself in these past few hours.
"You're going to be my wife for a year on paper, but the only thing you'll be used for throughout is to make sure I cum. Anything you witness throughout your stay with me,will not be said outside till you die, and after a year, you'll leave."
"Anything I witnessed? Like what I just went through? So there will be more?", I exclaimed in horror.
He ignored me and kept on going.
"Lastly, you're going to give me a child before you leave."
I gawked at him, utterly flabbergasted. "A child..."
"Yes. That's your only ticket to leaving me. Getting pregnant for me and giving me a child. I don't plan to settle down at any point of my life, but I need an heir to everything I own. So this is killing two birds with one stone", he folded his arms and waited for my response.
I couldn't believe this. What have I gotten myself into?
"Enzo, I agreed to be fucked, but to get married and witness murder. This is too much-"
"Two hundred million dollars. That's how much I'll pay you after you give me a son. I'll reward you with two hundred million dollars, and you can fly to any country of your choice to start a new life. Also, I'll make sure your mother gets treated by the best doctors, and I'll clear all the debts you've been owing your previous masters."
I went mute immediately.
This was too good to be true.
All of my prayers answered in one, if I get married to him?
Two hundred million dollars for a nobody like me?
With a healthy mum and a debt free life?
"Plus it's too late to go back now. You've witnessed what you've witnessed. You can't unsee it. This is the only way forward."
A spark of stubbornness occurred in my head. "And what if I don't sign it?"
"Do you want me to take you back to my father and tell him the truth? Do you want me to feed you to the lions? If not, I highly suggest you sign it", he stated with no hint of sympathy in his tone whatsoever.
"Fucking hell", I bit my lower lip.
