Chapter 46 - Human Emotions are Collectively Contagious

Xin looked around with curious eyes.

Along the way, people respectfully greeted Tsunade. Her popularity here was evident, but Tsunade generally didn't return the greetings, instead glancing at Xin beside her.

"A merchant like you must have seen even more magnificent cities, right?" she asked casually.

"Magnificent?" Xin shook his head, "If we're talking about magnificence, compared to the cities I've been to, this place is like a dilapidated village in a remote area. However, what I value isn't the so-called magnificence or grandeur, but the people here."

"Oh?" Tsunade seemed to gain some interest, turning her head to look at him, "What's different about the people?"

Tsunade now completely believed that Xin was from another world.

With so many incredible goods, there was no other explanation.

Therefore, she was somewhat curious what a person who had witnessed different worlds would think of Konoha.

"I said before that the Mystery Box are about changing destiny, right?" Xin withdrew his gaze from looking around and looked at Tsunade as well.

"You did say that," Tsunade nodded.

"However, not everyone in every world or every city desires to change their destiny." Xin's eyes held a hint of playfulness. "Human emotions are collectively contagious. Contentment, numbness, self-abandonment, or stubborn, unchangeable beliefs – all of these can make it difficult to spark the desire to change one's fate."

Tsunade seemed lost in thought.

War highlights the human aspect. Having experienced war and wandered around, Tsunade could actually understand what Xin meant.

Even she herself had been in a state of numb confusion for a long time.

"What would you do about people like that?" she asked.

"We wouldn't do anything," Xin shrugged. "We are merchants, not saviors. We don't force anyone to buy or sell. Whether they are willing to change their destiny, whether they can pay the price, whether they have the luck – these are all decided by the customer themselves. If a customer feels satisfied, they just need to stop buying Mystery Box. Once the time is up, their badge and membership status will be revoked."

These words, of course, were just for show, to enhance his mystique.

Doing business with a 'lazy fish' mentality is certainly not going to work.

Guidance and subtle influence, if possible, are still necessary.

Take Tsunade, for example.

If he hadn't offered resurrection, where would she get her current motivation?
