Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: A new adventure has emerged

[First time obtaining obsidian]

[Achievement achieved: Ice Bucket Challenge]

[Reward World Coins × 300]

[All the basic minerals in the main world have been obtained, and the game has been updated from beta version 0.9 to official version 1.0]

[The beginning of adventure & new challenges?]

[Easy mode, normal mode, and hard mode have been unlocked]

[The current default mode is Peaceful, players can modify it by themselves, and it will take effect after 0:00 the next day]

Did you see the system update?

Jack put the obsidian into his backpack and rubbed his eyes.

After a closer look, he realized that the scene before him was not his imagination.

"Aqing, come here!"

Keqing, who was wielding a diamond sword, hurried over.

"What's wrong?"

"I think I can adjust the world difficulty."

Jack brought up the system interface and placed it in front of Keqing.

"Adjust the difficulty... You mean we can fight those monsters now?"

"Yes, but I think peaceful mode is also a good way to develop. After loading the module, wouldn't it be great to go directly to the dungeon and pick up treasure chests for free?"

Jack closed the system notification interface, and then opened the module and integration package interface.

After some thought, I finally loaded the Dragon Adventure integration pack.

It is better to suffer a short pain than a long one. Now that I am basically diamond free, I can be a little more confident. If I continue to survive and clear the Nether, I will not improve much. It is better to develop directly in the module.

[The integration package is loading and will take effect after 0:00 the next day]

"Hey, Aqing, let's go home and get some diamonds first!"

...

In front of the grocery store.

Jack was sorting out his current wealth.

Three weeks have passed since I reclaimed the farmland. In addition to harvesting vegetables, I also earned miscellaneous income, which totaled 36,000 world coins. I later spent 10,000 to buy the Eye of God and 4,000 to buy two teleportation anchors. Currently, I have 22,000 left.

Diamonds in the grocery store are sold individually, 50 coins each.

I went to the mine with Keqing this morning and dug 5 diamonds in total.

Three were made into diamond drafts and some obsidian was dug.

Two of them were made into diamond swords to please my wife.

Considering that two people each have a set of diamond equipment, they will also need two sets of diamond armor, 1 diamond draft and 1 diamond sword, which will cost a total of 51 diamonds.

"Buy 80 first and keep some for later use."

After planning, 4,000 world currency balance was allocated, and finally 18,300 coins were left.

[Achievement achieved: Diamond Body Protection]

[Reward World Coins × 500]

"Not bad, I recovered some blood."

Immediately afterwards, Jack opened today's random store.

[Bottle of Enchantment: 1 World Coin]

[Enchant Book: Protection IV; 50 World Coins]

[Enchantment Book: Arthropod Killer IV; 50 World Coins]

[Enchantment Book: Undead Slayer IV; 50 World Coins]

[Enchantment Book: Sharpness IV; 50 World Coins]

[Super Lotto (1 time): 100 World Coins]

[Super Lotto (11 times): 1000 World Coins]

[Super Lotto (120 rounds): 10,000 World Coins]

Apparently, today is a special day for enchanted books.

Protection and Sharpness are both universal enchantments for armor and weapons. Arthropod Bane targets insect-like creatures such as spiders, while Undead Bane is effective against zombies, skeletons, and withers. Several special attack enchantments cannot be stacked.

As the saying goes, restraint is greater than heaven, and special attacks are like gods.

As he was about to load the mod and might be besieged by a large number of undead creatures, Jack felt that he needed to spend some money to get this undead killer.

I just went on a shopping spree and bought 3 of each type of enchantment book, which cost me 600 coins in one go.

"Diamonds are free anyway, so just get three weapons. Use the sharp ones for regular use, and switch to other weapons when you encounter monsters with special attacks."

Then he stared at the store interface left and right.

With a slip of the hand, he bought 11 lottery tickets.

A white light flashed, and Jack had 11 more lottery tickets in his hand.

"How to use it is... just tear it open, right?"

Looking at the instructions on the back of the Lotto tickets, Jack directly tore open 11 tickets.

In an instant, the 11 coupons in his hand turned into light and dissipated in the air, and then formed 11 light balls of different colors in front of him.

The special effects are really good, but the blue sky and white clouds are a bit heartbreaking.

8 white, 2 green, 1 blue.

[Congratulations, you have won...]

[World Coins×20]

[World Coins×20]

[World Coins×20]

[World Coins×50]

[World Coins×80]

[Flying Sword×1]

[Enchanted Book: Sharpness V × 1][World Coins × 50][Cute Maid Outfit × 1]

"The only blue guaranteed item is just… a costume?!"

Jack almost couldn't believe it.

Even something as improbable as time travel had already happened—so why was he still so unlucky?

"Well, let's at least see how 'cute' this so-called rare maid outfit really is."

After collecting his reward, Jack walked back into the villa.

In the kitchen, Keqing was happily humming the little tune he had taught her as she prepared lunch.

"Jack, you're back. Did you finish preparing the supplies?"

"There wasn't much to prepare, it's just, uh…"

The words stuck in his throat. Jack hesitated, not knowing how to bring it up.

How was he supposed to explain that he'd spent the hard-earned coins they both worked for on a lottery, only to end up winning—of all things—a maid outfit? And then, to top it off, ask her to try it on so he could see if it was worth the price?

He could already imagine Keqing pulling out her Mistcutter and giving him a "buff" on the spot.

Don't be fooled by her usual gentle and sweet demeanor—once she switched into housekeeper mode, she could be downright terrifying.

"Hm? What's wrong? You keep staring at me. Do I have something on my face?"

Faced with Keqing's pure and beautiful expression, Jack gritted his teeth, pulled out the maid outfit, and blurted:

"Just now, a shop refreshed some clothing… I thought it looked nice, so I bought it for you! Here!"

With a soft pop, a gift box tied with a ribbon appeared in his hand.

Keqing blinked in surprise. Her eyes moved between Jack and the gift, as if she'd already guessed the truth. She let out a soft little hmph and tucked the box into her Eye of God's personal storage.

"Fine then. You cook—I'll go upstairs and change."

Jack grabbed the spatula and began stir-frying, though his mind was miles away.

What he didn't notice was the faint smile curling Keqing's lips as she walked away.

In her heart, she thought this fool didn't need to worry so much. She didn't care about him spending recklessly.

Money didn't matter.

What mattered was that he played the role of the doting husband, and she, the housekeeper who fussed over him.

That—was sentiment.

Ten minutes later, the food was ready—two meat dishes and one vegetable dish.

As Jack took off his apron, he heard light footsteps behind him.

He turned, and there stood Keqing.

She was dressed in black and white maid attire—not the conservative European style, but a more elegant, Lolita-inspired design.

The off-shoulder cut and rose-lace cuffs accentuated her delicate, pale skin. The short skirt just skimmed her thighs, leaving a hint of mystery above her long, jade-like legs wrapped in white stockings. A pair of dainty leather shoes completed the look, black and white in perfect balance.

Caught under Jack's burning gaze, Keqing fidgeted with her twin ponytails, her cheeks flushed pink.

"So… how is it? Does it look good?"

"She is as light as a cloud veiling the moon, and as graceful as snowflakes drifting in the wind. Compared to my Ah Qing, even the Goddess of Luo River in Cao Zhi's poetry would pale in beauty."

Keqing didn't know Cao Zhi, nor the Goddess of Luo River. But Liyue's culture was close enough to ancient Shenzhou's that her refined literary sense could hear the splendor in his words.

Her heart swelled with joy at his praise.

Meanwhile, Jack gently stroked the "fur" of his little cat, smoothing her twin ponytails as she leaned in.

In that moment, both of them silently agreed—those 1,000 world coins had been well spent.
