Amber's expressive eyes looked expectantly at Jack.
As if waiting for him to say, "That was just Eula joking."
However, Jack didn't want to use such a clumsy lie.
As Lumine had said, since these girls' feelings were all directed at him, he had to stand in the eye of the storm himself.
"Eula was right. Keqing and Lumine are both my wings. I am such a fickle and sinfully deep man."
But the next second, Jack felt he had underestimated the "freedom" of the Mondstadters.
"Then, um, in our Mondstadt, the Anemo Archon Dvalin has 3 pairs of 6 wings."
What do you mean?
Amber, my little angel, are you implying something? You are implying something, aren't you?!
Jack didn't speak, and Amber didn't speak either, just kept sneaking glances at him.
"Speaking of which, where are you going now?"
Amber then remembered the task Acting Grand Master Jean had given her and exclaimed, "Oh no! I forgot I was here to find Klee!"
"Klee?"
"That's right! Klee was grounded by Acting Grand Master Jean a few days ago for fishing with bombs in Starfell Lake. She was supposed to be taken out for a little fresh air today.
But Acting Grand Master Jean and the others had to go out together to clear the monsters in the Whispering Woods, so they asked me to look after Klee."
Jack noticed that Amber was walking out of the Knights of Favonius headquarters rather than into it, and he surmised,
"Your Knights of Favonius' little sun has run away again?"
"Uh... Yes!"
"I don't have anything to do right now, so I'll accompany you to chase Klee."
This was a lie.
Having finally transmigrated to the world of Genshin Impact, Jack was also very curious to meet Klee, who was one of the few characters in the game who wasn't a "wife" but played the role of a "daughter."
"Then I'm truly grateful! I have an elemental locator made by Lisa here; it can detect Klee's escape route."
Amber took out something resembling a pocket watch.
As she pressed the button, a conspicuous fiery red elemental power thread stretched out in the direction of the South District.
"Oh no, she wouldn't have overheard Eula's conversation with Acting Grand Master Jean last night and run off to the Whispering Woods too, would she?"
"From a rational perspective, it's not impossible."
"Suddenly I feel a chill... Uh, Traveler, I wasn't talking about you, let's hurry and catch up!"
After being struck by the verbose literature from neighboring Liyue, Amber, to avoid making Jack uncomfortable, directly and decisively ran forward.
Jack followed behind her with a relaxed expression, sighing, "What a good girl."
...
Thump thump thump! —
"Wh-what the heck was that?!"
"Swann, what are you making a fuss about again?"
"Lawrence, just now, just now it seemed like something ran past, red, like a ghost."
"I think you haven't slept well, did you drink until late again last night?"
"I didn't drink! Someone definitely ran past just now, whoosh, I couldn't even see a shadow."
"Tch, I don't believe it, unless it passes by me again..."
Whoosh!
Whoosh whoosh!
Two shadows, one red and one black, openly rushed between the two Mondstadt City Guards.
Then, a biting cold wind swept over them.
Lawrence and Swann exchanged glances, both seeing terror in each other's eyes.
"Y-you see, I wasn't lying, there's definitely something unclean appearing today."
"This... Should we report it to the Knights of Favonius and let Acting Grand Master Jean handle it?"
"I agree!! Six-Fingered Jose wasn't lying, there really is a red demon roaming Mondstadt."
"Six-Fingered Jose? Isn't that the bard at the Angel's Share tavern? And you said you didn't go drinking last night!"
...
"Little Klee, don't run! Come back to Mondstadt City with me, I won't tell Acting Grand Master Jean that you escaped!"
Amber's long legs rapidly alternated, constantly leaping over trees, stone pillars, streetlights, and other structures, quickly closing the distance with the small red figure running ahead.
Such agile movements were enough to prove that Mondstadt's Reconnaissance Knight was not famous for nothing.
However, Amber's warning did not make Klee, who was running ahead, obedient. Instead, it only fueled the child's rebellious streak, making her run even faster.
But a child's stamina is limited after all.
Even though Klee was a Vision wielder, her small body quickly tired from sprinting at full speed. Distracted and out of breath, she missed a step and went tumbling headfirst toward the ground.
"Little Klee!—"
Amber panicked. She immediately ignored her own safety, flames bursting from her feet as she prepared to unleash even greater speed, even at the cost of tearing her muscles.
"Don't panic! I'm here."
A large hand suddenly pressed her shoulder down.
The volatile Pyro energy around Amber subsided, and in a blur, Jack, who had been behind her just moments ago, flashed ahead with lightning speed. He caught the falling Klee against his chest, cushioning her with his soft belly.
Thud!
A dull impact echoed as Jack slid across the sand, his back completely unprotected. But the little girl in his arms remained unharmed.
"Klee, are you okay?"
Klee groggily lifted her head and looked at Amber. "Klee… Klee is fine. So-sorry, Amber-jie-jie."
"It's good that you're fine. But Klee, the one you should apologize to isn't me."
At Amber's reminder, Klee suddenly realized she was still sitting on someone.
Her small head quickly turned—and upon seeing Jack beneath her, her timid, deer-like eyes immediately sparkled.
"Oh! It's Big Brother Traveler! You finally came back to see Klee!"
Klee immediately hugged Jack tightly, bouncing with excitement.
Her short legs kicked back and forth, a clear sign of her joy.
Jack gently patted her back. "Long time no see, Little Klee. Did you miss me?"
"Yes! Mommy said Big Brother went to a really faraway place and wouldn't be back for a long time. So Klee drew all her big adventures while you were gone and was waiting to show you when you came back!"
"Is that so? Klee is amazing."
Jack playfully tapped her little nose, enchanted by her serious expression.
For a moment, he couldn't help but wonder—if he and Keqing or Lumine had children one day, would they be as adorable as Little Klee?
The thought slipped into his heart, and an aura of doting fatherhood radiated from him.
At first glance, he and Klee truly did look like father and daughter.
Shaking his head, he pushed the dangerous thought aside and silently apologized to Alice before Amber stepped forward.
"Alright, Klee, stop clinging to your Big Brother. Let's hurry back to Mondstadt City, or we'll make Acting Grand Master Jean and the others worry."
"No, no! Klee wants to help Acting Grand Master Jean!"
At the mention of going back, Klee shook her little head like a rattle-drum.
"Klee, be good!" Amber crossed her arms in a big-sisterly pose.
But Klee only burrowed fearfully into Jack's chest and muttered, muffled, "Klee saw lots of furries yesterday… they set traps for Acting Grand Master Jean. Mommy said furries are bad guys. Klee wants to help fight bad guys!"
"Furries?"
Amber blinked in confusion at the child's "secret code."
"I think Klee means those guys."

A group of blue-furred Hydro Abyss Mages, resembling eerie dolls, began chanting spells as they launched an attack against Jack and the two girls.
