Chapter 49 - Chapter 49: Jack Who Can't Read the Room

"These are the materials Senior Lisa needs. Could you check if the quantity and types are all there?"

After changing into her usual maid-knight armor, Noelle seemed to have found her old self, unconsciously taking care of the three of them, placing three steaming hot cups of black tea in front of them.

Lisa habitually picked up her black tea: "Hmm, the material quality is good, and the black tea is also good. It's much better than someone's instant black tea at home."

"I only have instant black tea, so I apologize." Jack also picked up a cup and tasted it.

After one sip, his entire stomach felt warm.

He wasn't very good at tasting tea, but he could tell that this tea, whether in its aroma or its lingering sweetness, was far superior to his own modern industrial products.

So Jack unhesitatingly gave it his thumbs up.

"As expected of Noelle, the perfect maid-knight! It seems I've hit the jackpot!"

Lisa agreed: "You think you've hit the jackpot already? Our little Noelle hasn't even put in her full effort yet. Are you up to it, my dear?"

Keqing nearly spat out her tea, looking at Lisa resentfully: "Sister Lisa, do you witches always talk so... so strangely?"

After searching for a long time for a suitable word, the well-bred Keqing finally chose a relatively neutral adjective to describe Lisa, who spoke without filter.

Enough is enough. One Traveler was already headache-inducing, and now another Lisa.

Keqing wiped the cold sweat from her forehead: What should I do? It feels like this boisterous harem is getting out of control?

Jack patted Keqing's shoulder, giving her a reassuring look.

"Don't worry, I'm here."

"Oh, is that so? That's great!"

Lisa asked in confusion: "What riddle are you two playing at now?"

Keqing gave an embarrassed smile.

Jack gave her a reassuring look and explained: "A Qing is saying that she often feels out of place with you and Traveler because she's not 'perverted' enough, and she's worried about it."

"You want to die?!"

Keqing kicked Jack on the shin.

Jack's eyes widened: "A Qing, you've changed! You're no longer that beautiful, gentle, kind, generous..."

"Shut up! If you say another word, I... I'll stick Mistplitter Reforged into your nostril!"

Are you Bronya from Jarilo-VI? You just can't get over that voice actor meme, can you?

Jack drew a finger across his lips, indicating that he had shut up.

Noelle watched the group with a radiant smile.

As expected of the Honorary Knight! He can easily lift everyone's spirits! This is much better than herself, who only knows how to make black tea, do some housework, and do some physical labor!

I must learn from him!

"Alright, it's getting late. Now that we have the items, let's head back to the Magic Workshop. It's been a while since I've been back, so the equipment is probably dusty."

Lisa patted her skirt and stood up.

Jack and Keqing also stood up.

"Thank you very much for your hospitality, Noelle. When I have time, I'll invite you to my world to play. Since you've joined our team, you should naturally have a room there."

The word "harem" was inappropriate.

Jack changed it to "team" here.

That's right, a team of a Creator who is starting a venture to establish his own Pantheon.

"Okay! While you are away, I will work hard to improve myself and strive to gain Acting Grand Master Jean's recognition!"

"It's alright, you don't have to work that hard. Noelle, just maintaining the status quo is fine. If you become even more excellent, I'll feel like I'm not worthy of Noelle."

"P-please don't say that."

Noelle was uncharacteristically shy.

She lowered her head, looking at her invisible toes.

"—Let's go, Jack! Sister Lisa said her workshop isn't in a populated area, it's quite a long walk!"

"Okay! Coming!"

Jack responded to the two who had already reached the door, then took out a Dragonbone Sword, which was too heavy for ordinary people.

"I heard you often struggle with training equipment because your weapons aren't suitable. This sword, made from dragon bone, is quite durable. The Redhorn Stonethresher I gave you isn't suitable for training, so you can use this instead."

Noelle gratefully accepted Jack's gift.

Then she watched his figure disappear into the distance.

...

Far from the Knights of Favonius headquarters, in the residential area of Mondstadt's northwest corner.

There were very few ordinary residents here; it was mainly where Knights of Favonius members and their families lived.

Lisa's Magic Workshop was located here.

The three arrived in front of a detached Western-style house.

Lisa introduced: "Don't look at me like that, I didn't buy it myself. As an excellent Akademiya graduate, isn't it normal for the Knights of Favonius to give me a villa to prevent talent outflow?"

Keqing nodded and said: "Indeed, it's already difficult for outsiders to study at the Sumeru Akademiya, and to also earn the title of the most outstanding genius in nearly 200 years... If it were Ningguang, she might directly give a few hundred million mora."

Huh? Did I ask you guys?

Jack was only confused for half a second before realizing that Lisa's behavior was no different from his past self showing off a big catch after fishing.

She hadn't shown off before simply because she didn't have an audience.

A person with low emotional intelligence would still ask why, but a person with high emotional intelligence should at this moment...

"As expected of Lisa! You easily accomplished something we couldn't. You're truly amazing!"

"Hehe, my dear, you flatter me."

Miss Lisa covered her mouth, smiling, to avoid letting anyone see her upturned lips.

Then, with a click, the door opened.

In the entrance hall, a deep purple long sock was curled up in a ball, lying there. Besides that, various clothes, tools, and cups were scattered everywhere, giving off a strong sense of a single older woman's residence.

Lisa: "..."

Bang! Lisa slammed the door shut.

She turned her head, her eyes filled with explosive lightning: "My dear, you saw nothing and were never here. Come back in two hours, understand?"

"Ahem, the weather is really nice today. A Qing, let's go stroll around the East District Commercial Street. We passed by Angel's Share last time but didn't get to taste anything."

"Eh? Jack, weren't we here to drop off the Dragonspine Mountain materials at Sister Lisa's house? We're already here, why aren't we going in?"

A Qing! The air, read the air!

Jack kept winking at Keqing.

"Jack, what's wrong with your eyes? Are you uncomfortable? I'll blow on them for you."

Keqing was currently treating the task of transporting the Dragonspine Mountain materials as work, so her attention to matters outside of work had sharply decreased.

Otherwise, she would definitely have noticed the low pressure around Lisa.

To prevent the Knights of Favonius family residential area from experiencing a clear-sky thunderstorm, Jack could only pick up Keqing in a princess carry and then say to Lisa: "A Qing hasn't been to Mondstadt much, I'll take her for a stroll. I remember the way, see you tonight!"

After Jack and Keqing had both disappeared down the street.

Lisa's tense face finally relaxed.

How embarrassing! To be seen in such a messy state.

For a moment there, Lisa genuinely considered unleashing a thunderstorm and taking them all down with her.

Turning around, she walked into her house.

Looking at the chaotic arrangement, she mused: "Perhaps I should ask Noelle to come over and help clean up..."
