Chapter 199 - It wasn't just a mention

The morning was grey.

No clear sun…

And no complete darkness.

As if the world itself didn't know whether it wanted to start a new day or end everything.

Kim stood by the window.

His eyes were exhausted.

Nir sat behind him in silence.

Biath watched him without drawing near.

Something had changed.

Not in his features…

But in the distance between him and them.

Nir spoke first:

"You didn't sleep."

Kim didn't turn.

"Sleep… is for those who possess peace."

Silence.

Biath took a step forward.

"What did you see?"

A simple question…

But the air grew heavier.

Kim closed his left eye for a moment.

Then he said with a broken calmness:

"I was living a lie."

Nir froze.

"What do you mean?"

Kim finally turned.

He looked at them…

A gaze that belonged neither to a leader,

Nor to a warrior.

But to a lost soul.

"My mother… she didn't die as I thought."

"She wasn't human."

"She wasn't weak."

"She wasn't a victim."

His voice began to choke.

"She was protecting me from myself."

Biath whispered:

"Kim…"

But he continued.

"I am not just someone who fought the rulers."

"I am not just walking chaos."

"I am the cause of everything."

"I am the prophecy that everyone fears."

Nir stood up.

He approached him quickly.

"You are my friend."

"That is what you are."

Kim smiled a painful smile.

"If only I were just that… it would have been easier."

A long silence.

Then he said it.

With a terrifying stillness.

"I'm leaving you."

The air was cut short.

Nir: "What?"

Kim: "For a while."

"I need to search… for the truth."

"For my father."

"For the origin of this blood."

Biath drew closer, her voice trembling:

"And will we become a burden now?"

Kim fell silent.

This time… he didn't answer immediately.

Then he said:

"You are the only thing that makes me hesitate."

"And that… is dangerous."

Nir clenched his fist.

"Dangerous to what?"

Kim stepped toward him.

He placed his hand on his shoulder.

His voice grew deeper.

"If I stayed…"

"I would drag you into a war that isn't yours."

"I am the son of an angel and a demon."

"My blood is a declaration of war."

"And everyone who stands by me… becomes a target."

Biath's tears finally fell.

"Were we not with you in hell?"

"Did we not stand when you fell?"

Kim looked at her…

His eyes filled with something he couldn't say.

"That is exactly why… I am leaving."

Nir shouted:

"You're running away!"

Kim replied with lethal calm:

"No."

"I am protecting what I have left."

Silence.

Then a sentence that shattered everything.

Kim looked at the ground and said:

"I am not afraid to die."

"I am afraid… of being the reason you do."

Nir found no answer.

Biath gasped.

Kim continued:

"All my life… everyone who got close to me… ended."

"My mother."

"Mary."

"My family."

"I am a walking curse."

He approached the door.

He stopped for a moment.

Without turning, he said:

"If I return…"

"I return because I chose you."

"And if I don't…"

His voice dropped.

"Remember me… before I became a prophecy."

He opened the door.

The air rushed in with force.

The sun was behind him…

But his shadow was longer than the light.

He stepped out.

Inside the room…

Nir stood motionless.

Biath wept in silence.

But before Kim disappeared completely…

The Eye of Revelation flared for a second.

And he saw—

Two threads.

A thread binding him to Nir.

And a thread binding him to Biath.

Threads stronger than the prophecy itself.

He whispered to himself as he walked away:

"Even if I am the heir of chaos…"

"You… are my only choice."
