Chapter 149 - Chapter 149: Origin Awakening - The Splash Plate

Chapter 149: Origin Awakening - The Splash Plate

Ryan handed the Splash Plate to Greninja. Greninja shuddered and immediately entered a state of deep meditation. It sat cross-legged, quietly comprehending its own Origin.

The reward for the Origin Enlightenment was a strange orb of light. After Ryan confirmed receipt, an orb radiating various colors appeared in his hand.

He released Charizard and handed it to Charizard. Charizard carefully took the orb of light. As if sensing something, the orb instantly transformed into a red orb of light, like a blazing flame.

Charizard carefully held the orb against its chest. The light gradually merged into Charizard's body, and Charizard's entire body emanated a red glow.

Charizard, lying on the floor as if in deep sleep, began its comprehension.

Ryan also sat down on the sofa, released celebi and Blaziken, and held celebi, quietly waiting for their comprehension to complete.

Time passed, and after an unknown amount of time, Lillie and Sapphire opened the door and walked in. Lillie saw Charizard and Greninja and asked curiously, "Ryan, why did you teleport Charizard and Greninja here?"

"Huh? These are Ryan's Charizard and Greninja," Sapphire said curiously. "They look so powerful!"

"Shh! They're at a critical moment of their breakthrough. Let's wait until they wake up." Ryan gestured for silence. "You can release your Water and Fire Pokémon to observe. They'll learn something."

The two nodded and put their shopping away. Lillie released her Feebas, and Sapphire released her Combusken and Carvanha.

Lillie said to Ryan, "I'll go prepare some Pokéblocks. They'll definitely be hungry when they wake up."

Ryan nodded, agreeing with Lillie. Sapphire also sat on the sofa, holding Carvanha and Lillie's Feebas, and observed Charizard and Greninja intently.

Combusken walked over to Blaziken and sat down, carefully observing and absorbing Charizard's state.

After a while, Lillie brought out the finished Pokéblocks, and Charizard opened its eyes. A burst of flames instantly ignited around it. Charizard took a deep breath, and the flames were instantly absorbed back. Its piercing eyes seemed to burn with inner fire.

"Did it work?" Ryan asked with a smile.

Charizard nodded. It had finally grasped the true nature of combustion, and its flames were greatly enhanced. Now its flames could burn anything, even the water that normally resisted it!

Greninja, as if inspired by Charizard's awakening, opened its eyes and moved its hands through the air. Water streams appeared out of thin air, forming two water blades.

Greninja swung its two blades twice in the air, then called out to Ryan with satisfaction. Then the two water blades dissipated, leaving Greninja standing there like a sharpened blade, its presence so keen that even Charizard couldn't help but take notice.

Ryan rubbed his chin and smiled, "I didn't expect you'd comprehend that. It suits you perfectly."

Greninja had comprehended the sharpness of water. Perhaps influenced by the modified techniques Ryan had taught it, Greninja's Origin power was also leaning in this direction. If you were to ask what the sharpest blade in the world is, it would undoubtedly be water!

A water blade is essentially created using high pressure to rapidly project water through a concentrated point to create a cutting edge.

Honestly, the concept differs from a traditional blade. Ryan wondered how Greninja had the insight to combine the two concepts, truly comprehending the sharpness of water.

"Thank you for your hard work," Lillie said, bringing over two bowls of Pokéblocks.

Recently, Lillie's Pokéblock crafting had gotten better and better with the guidance of the master crafter. Charizard and Greninja caught the scent and immediately devoured the Pokéblocks with eager appetites.

"Well. The next step is to master the use of Origin power." Ryan said, "In the next period of time, Wallace will be here, so we can train with him."

Sapphire was confused and pulled Lillie aside, saying, "What is Ryan talking about? What Origin power?"

Lillie looked at Ryan, and Ryan nodded. Then Lillie explained to Sapphire, "Origin power is the power possessed by every Legendary Pokémon. Only by mastering Origin power can Pokémon truly enter the realm of Legendary status."

"What?!" Sapphire exclaimed in surprise, "So Ryan's Charizard and Greninja have become Legendary Pokémon?!"

"No, comprehending the Origin is only the first step toward becoming a Legendary. Ryan calls this stage 'Quasi-Legendary.' Only when you truly master Origin power can you be called a Legendary. Ryan divides Legendary Pokémon into Major Legendaries, Sub-Legendaries, and Minor Legendaries according to their mastery of Origin power. Only by mastering Origin power and applying it skillfully can you distinguish the strength of Legendary Pokémon." Lillie explained.

"So that's how it is," Sapphire nodded and said, "Ryan, you know a lot. Just now, you let Combusken and Carvanha watch Charizard and Greninja realize their Origin. This means they could eventually attain higher combat power, preparing for their future Origin realization, right?"

"That's pretty much it," Ryan said.

Afterward, Ryan called Liza and told her that Charizard had realized its Origin, so they wouldn't be going to Charicific Valley. Liza expressed her understanding and congratulated Charizard on this achievement.

After hanging up, Ryan pondered whether he should invest in technology research to develop holographic projection technology as soon as possible. Using a phone to communicate always felt a bit limited. Instant messengers and holographic communicators would appear in the Pokémon world eventually, but that was a long way off. Ryan considered developing a holographic communicator directly to replace outdated phones.

Ryan made his decision. Next, he let Charizard and Greninja rest first, let them get familiar with Origin power, and then have them train on the Legendary Island.

Charizard missed Ryan and insisted on traveling with him for a while before returning. Ryan thought about it and agreed. After all, Charizard had been training alone in Charicific Valley. Besides, Ryan had already unlocked 20 Pokémon slots, so one more wouldn't hurt.

To celebrate Charizard and Greninja's enlightenment, Ryan took Lillie, Sapphire, and a group of Pokémon to the hotel restaurant and ordered a large feast for them.

Ryan also called Ruby and asked her to come back for dinner. Upon hearing about the feast, Ruby immediately set her training aside. After all, she still had time, but meals like this were rare.

Less than ten minutes later, Ruby dragged Wallace to the hotel's private room, eyes lighting up at the dazzling array of dishes on the table.

Wallace stared at Charizard and Greninja in amazement, then asked Ryan, "Ryan, are these two your main team?"

"Yeah, they're pretty solid," Ryan said casually.

Wallace nearly choked, thinking to himself, "That's the understatement of the century!"
