Chapter 155 - Chapter 155: Lillie's First Legendary Pokémon

Chapter 155: Lillie's First Legendary Pokémon

Gladion and Wally's meeting was fateful. Gladion was traveling in the Hoenn region. Although he wasn't planning to participate in the League Conference, he was constantly battling trainers and honing his skills.

Upon arriving in Verdanturf, Gladion encountered Wally. Wally, envious of other trainers, had obtained his first Pokémon, Ralts, with Ruby's help. Seeing Gladion's strength, he challenged him. However, during their battle, Wally suffered an asthma attack, nearly collapsing.

Gladion quickly took Wally to the hospital for treatment, and through this encounter, Gladion and Wally became acquainted. Gladion sympathized with Wally's condition and offered to teach him some of his training knowledge.

Consequently, Gladion settled in Verdanturf. It wasn't until they were training in the valley that Shaymin descended from the sky, interrupting Gladion's plans.

Shaymin's weakened state reminded Wally of himself, and he decided to help it. Shaymin is a Pokémon with a keen sense of human nature, so its migration trusted it to Gladion and Wally's care.

To be frank, they were a migration that traveled the world, and it was impossible for them to stop for a single individual. They tried their best to heal Shaymin, but finding no cure, Shaymin's migration decided to entrust Shaymin to Gladion and Wally's care while they continued their journey.

This became an agreement between Gladion, Wally, and the Shaymin migration: they would return to the area a year later, hoping they could heal Shaymin, and they would reward them.

The Shaymin migration then departed, leaving the weakened Shaymin behind. Despite their best efforts, Gladion and Wally were unable to restore Shaymin's health. Gladion then thought of Ryan and notified Lillie to visit when they came to Hoenn.

Gladion placed all his hopes on Ryan, and he lived up to their expectations by healing Shaymin.

With Shaymin's story and Gladion's explanation, Ryan gained a general understanding.

He understood the Shaymin migration's decision. After all, that was their nature, an unavoidable one. So, they had no choice but to leave this seemingly incurable Shaymin behind.

Though it sounded harsh, Shaymin itself didn't blame the migration's decision. Ryan glanced at the blooming Gracidea flowers and said, "Gladion, did you plant these Gracidea flowers specifically?"

"Yes. I asked the Aether Foundation to find the Gracidea seeds. The climate here is perfect for Gracidea growth, allowing them to bloom year-round. This acre of flower field will be left as a resting place for the Shaymin," Gladion said, looking at the flower field.

Ryan nodded. He knew Gladion was someone who appeared cold but had a warm heart. Although he occasionally acted edgy, he was a good person. Otherwise, the Shaymin wouldn't have entrusted their companion to them.

Ruby looked at the flower field and said, "Gladion's so thoughtful, he actually grew an entire field of flowers."

Lillie took Shaymin from Gladion's arms and examined it closely. After all, such a rare Mythical Pokémon was still uncommon to see.

At that moment, Shaymin froze for a moment, then excitedly dove into the Gracidea flowers. Gracidea pollen coated Shaymin, and it instantly radiated an intense light, transforming into its Sky Forme.

In Sky Forme, Shaymin resembled a small reindeer, with longer legs than its Land Forme. It had a red scarf-like structure around its neck, green legs, and a head covered in even greener fur. White flower-like structures flanked its head.

It called out loudly, kicked off with its legs, and soared into the air. In the distance, many calls echoed. Sky Forme Shaymin flew over from afar, gradually converging around this Shaymin, nuzzling affectionately and expressing their longing after a year apart.

Then, one by one, the Shaymin descended, gathering in the field of Gracidea flowers. They called softly to Gladion and Wally, expressing their gratitude.

Gladion and Wally quickly shook their heads, saying, "You don't need to thank us. It was Ryan who saved Shaymin; otherwise, it wouldn't have recovered yet."

Upon hearing this, the Shaymin nodded in gratitude, turning towards Ryan. Then, with a loud call from the leading Shaymin, two Pokémon Eggs were brought forward, one to Gladion and Wally, the other to Ryan.

As the Pokémon Eggs were handed over, the Shaymin collected enough pollen from the Gracidea flowers.

Then, the Shaymin took to the sky, circling the group several times before soaring off into the distance with a loud call. The Shaymin that Gladion and Wally had been caring for paused for a moment before accelerating to catch up with the migration and fly into the distance.

"It seems that what I read about Shaymin in the ancient texts is correct," Lillie said wistfully as she watched the Shaymin migration moving away. "Shaymin must rely on the pollen of Gracidea flowers to transform into Sky Forme, but this form cannot be maintained for too long, so Shaymin spend their whole lives traveling in search of Gracidea flowers, while also purifying the air. They will not stay in one place. Wild Shaymin also have to search for Gracidea flowers. After transforming into Sky Forme, they will look for the next place with Gracidea flowers until they meet a Shaymin migration and join them."

Ryan smiled, pushed the Pokémon Egg into Lillie's arms and said, "Since you're so interested, then take good care of it."

"Wait, Ryan, this was given to you by the Shaymin. I can't take it!" Lillie said, looking at the Egg in her arms, and tried to hand it back to Ryan.

Ryan shook his head and said, "First of all, I'm not short of Legendary Pokémon, and you really don't have any high-powered battlers right now. So, just take this Shaymin. At least it can protect you on my behalf. Besides, do we need to be so formal about what's between us?"

Lillie looked at Ryan's serious face, smiled, and said, "You're such a softie! Then I'll take this Shaymin!"

Ruby and Sapphire looked at Ryan and Lillie with some exasperation. Looking at Gladion and Wally, they suddenly felt something was off. Gladion also pushed the Shaymin Pokémon Egg towards Wally and said, "Wally, you need it more than I do. Because Shaymin can purify the air, it will be very helpful for your asthma. Take good care of yourself. Don't you want to become healthy, become a trainer, and go out traveling? When you're better, we can travel together!"

Ruby and Sapphire felt uncomfortable. Ryan and Lillie looked sweet together, but Gladion and Wally's interaction felt strangely intense, almost brotherly but overly dramatic!

Ruby and Sapphire shook their heads, trying to clear their thoughts. They decided that watching Ryan and Lillie was much more normal by comparison!
