Chapter 290 - Chapter 290: Hoopa

Chapter 290: Hoopa

Upon hearing Ryan's words, everyone and the Pokémon fell silent, but Xerneas was filled with fighting spirit. It had waited too long for this day. The torment of those years was all for the chance to fight that being again, to avenge the destruction of the world. Even in that broken space, it honed itself. Everything was for the sake of standing before that entity, even if it meant dying in battle!

Ryan thought for a moment and said, "It seems we need to speed things up. I'm determined to get Hoopa."

When he watched the movie, Ryan was deeply impressed by Hoopa's abilities. After all, it was the first war between so many Legendary Pokémon, and even after so many years, Ryan remembered it very clearly. Combined with his experiences and observations in this world over the years, Ryan could guess that some of the Legendary Pokémon summoned by Hoopa were probably not from this dimension. For example, regarding the Shiny Rayquaza that appeared, Ryan had questioned Rayquaza and confirmed that there were no other Rayquaza on that planet besides it. Therefore, the Shiny Rayquaza summoned by Hoopa was somewhat suspicious. Based on his experience in Ultra Space, Ryan could only speculate that Hoopa could summon Legendary Pokémon from other dimensions.

Furthermore, Ryan carefully reviewed the ancient tablets brought back by his contacts multiple times but found no trace of any Legendary Pokémon, such as Mew, Magearna, or Hoopa.

Simply put, different alternate dimensions have different starting points, and these parallel worlds develop from a single primordial world through various "choices," resulting in multiple similar yet not entirely identical worlds. Taking the Hoenn region as an example, in one world, Team Magma awakened Groudon; in another, Team Aqua awakened Kyogre; and in yet another, both ancient Pokémon were awakened simultaneously. In some worlds, they gained the Primal Reversion ability, effectively creating multiple parallel worlds. Furthermore, some worlds have different protagonists, some have chosen Treecko as their starter, and some have chosen Torchic. These slight differences create countless similar yet distinct worlds.

Different choices at the starting point create two completely different worlds, or even more. So, theoretically, if Hoopa is strong enough, it could pull all the Legendary Pokémon from various worlds into the world Ryan is currently in. However, the consequences are obvious, as mentioned in the movie. Summoning Legendary Pokémon from multiple dimensions results in the complete destruction and disappearance of that area. If Arceus hadn't intervened in the movie to clean up the mess, the consequences would have been unimaginable.

Lillie glanced at Ryan, but didn't press the matter further. Lillie knew that Ryan had his reasons for not telling her, and asking too many questions would be counterproductive.

After figuring things out, Ryan realized he couldn't travel leisurely anymore. A sense of crisis pierced his back, and he doubted whether he could hold out for so long. If he wasn't mistaken, once that entity found what it was looking for, it would immediately attack their world.

After saying goodbye to the native Xerneas and Yveltal, Ryan recalled Diancie, grabbed Lillie, and jumped onto his Xerneas's back. Xerneas carried Ryan and Lillie towards the nearest city.

"Yveltal, what do you think about this?" the native Xerneas asked, watching the other Xerneas's departing figure.

"It seems quite credible. Aren't Mew and Ho-Oh guarding a part of that entity's body? It's very likely that it's the being they're talking about. But I'm a little confused. If it's such a powerful being, why is it so weak after coming to our world?" Yveltal said.

"Let's wait and see. If what that young man named Ryan said is true, then there will definitely be a great battle later. Let's focus on improving our own strength first."

"Okay."

The native Xerneas and Yveltal, the two Legendary Pokémon, exchanged a glance before parting ways and flying off to their respective destinations.

Meanwhile, Ryan and Lillie arrived at the nearest city, boarded a plane, and reached Dahara City in the Kalos region. Although it was near the desert, it wasn't barren like typical desert areas; on the contrary, it was a very prosperous and economically developed city, boasting not only an airport but also a port with numerous ships.

"The donuts here are very famous; let's go try some," Ryan said, looking at the tourist guide.

"Uh? Didn't we come here to find Hoopa?"

Lillie was immediately confused. Ryan had rushed to the city, but unusually, he seemed relaxed and not worried about Hoopa at all.

Ryan smiled without speaking. He had already inquired; there hadn't been any major news events in Dahara City. In Ryan's memory, Hoopa had fought its Unbound form in this city, staging a very exciting Legendary Pokémon battle. If something like that had actually happened here, it would definitely have been reported in the news, but Ryan's information channels didn't reveal any unusual events in Dahara City.

Taking Lillie's hand, Ryan first found a hotel for them to stay in. Although his memories of Hoopa were still relatively clear, when they would arrive was a real problem. Firstly, unlike the movie, Ash and his friends were still in Alola, and with the timeline now back on track, it was hard to say when Hoopa and its friends would arrive.

What Ryan hadn't expected was that this wait would last almost a month. This nearly month-long wait had almost worn down Ryan's patience. He could only spend his days strolling around with Lillie, watching the sunrise and sunset, and occasionally engaging in small romantic gestures; his days were incredibly relaxed.

Just when Ryan thought Hoopa wasn't planning on coming, a golden ring appeared in front of him, and a small hand reached out from it, taking away the donuts from their table and mischievously adding a super spicy Tamato Berry.

Ryan smiled. Patience pays off; he had finally waited for this little troublemaker!
