Chapter 5 - stats

[Host, since I am directly transmitting information in your brain, then logically I didn't speak a word, so your request is invalid too]

Asher's lips twitched, Was this system messing with him?

[Host, you are smart, you finally figured it out]

Asher really wanted to smack open his head to remove this thing, it really didn't feel like those supportive, overpowered systems at all.

[Host, don't even think about it. I have lost almost all of my energy to chase you and integrate with you]

[You don't know how impossibly low the chances were for me to find you near the ruins of my civilization, not to mention you were perfectly compatible with me, now if you smash your head, then I will die along with you]

"That was just a joke, now please shu— I mean stop transmitting your information to my brain for a moment," Asher was still in a state of disbelief over what had happened until now.

[Alright]

Neat, at least it listens to him, "So you have read all my memories?"

[Yes, I have]

Asher felt a little embarrassed, he had many things he could never tell anyone, "Are you the same thing as those systems in fantasy novels?"

[Well, technically yes, but I will say I am more like an assistant.]

[Unlike those systems that give you tasks to spank a woman's butt or whatnot and break the fundamental rules by producing things that are not possible even in mana-influenced worlds, I am different, I can only produce things that I have scanned before, and only if you provide enough Mana Points for me to do so]

"So basically you are weaker than those systems."

[Host, fantasy is different from reality, even I can write a novel where I am the ruler of the universe]

"Tch... Alright, forget it, tell me something, since you were on me... why did I feel intense pain? I can understand the recent one because of you, but what about the earlier one?"

[That was your transformation, Host, you were exposed to mana for the first time, and because of this, your whole body went through a transformation to integrate mana inside you]

Asher looked at his hand, "So, basically I can use magic?"

[Yes, manipulation of mana is called magic, though it depends on affinity too]

"Affinity? You mean elemental affinities. So if I have fire elemental affinity, I can use fire?"

[You are correct as well as wrong, Host]

Asher raised his eyebrows, "How so?"

[You see, even if you have an affinity to the fire element, you can still use water spells if you have learned them, in the end, it's just mana manipulation. Of course, you won't be able to manipulate water and produce water out of thin air like fire, it depends on affinity]

Asher understood it, "I see, so do you have any clue about the fact that why I was brought here and where am I?"

[Host, after reading your memories and seeing that purple mist... it is pretty obvious that you were summoned here using a Fate Stone, a very mysterious treasure that no one was able to understand how it works]

"Fate Stone? What's its relation with me, why did it bring me here?"

[Host, the work of the Fate Stone is to find a soul-resonating or, in other words, fated person of the user of the Fate Stone. Fated means that your souls are similar, and you guys are totally compatible with each other. In your view, if you see each other, you will fall in love]

Asher was stunned, suddenly his thoughts went to the two women, specifically the one with silver hair. Just thinking about her made his heart restless, was she?

"By any chance, am I fated to one of those women?" Asher knew it would understand which women he was talking about.

[Yes, indeed you are fated to the woman you were thinking about just now. Forgive me, but I wasn't able to scan them to tell you about what race they belong to, your fated was too strong, even stronger than the strongest people in my destroyed civilization]

[She was able to sense me when I tried to do so, as I don't trust them yet, so I can't reveal myself. No doubt she is your fated, but what if she sees me as a threat to you... so in the future, make sure to introduce me nicely, or I will be gone]

Asher was speechless, "Why the hell do you sound like a scammer?"

[How can you even call me that, those scammers on Earth were too stupid to use already known tactics for their endeavors]

Asher's face twitched, "Forget it, now since you are basically a system, you can give me my stats, right?"

[Of course I can do that, Host, I have already scanned you, so it's easy... but I can only give them one time for now, as I will not have any mana points left, unless you absorb mana and feed it to me, I can't do anything, if you give me mana, then I can give you almost everything after scanning them]

"Now you sound like a parasite, whatever, give me my stats."

[Alright, I will give them in system panel mode, which will be only visible to you since it's a trick to your mind, here]

A blue screen appeared in front of Asher's eyes...

There it was, Analysis. It was a quite well-arranged system, but, "Why is my affinity none?"

[Host, you are from a mana-null world, so it was pretty obvious, affinities are like evolution, they are passed genetically.]

Asher sighed, it seemed he could only learn skills to use magic.

"So what can you really do? You said you can produce anything as long as you scanned them?"

[That is true, but there are some limitations, I can't just create life, so don't expect me to create one just because I scanned someone]

Asher nodded, it was still quite useful, "What else can you do?"
