Zion's POV
I didn't hesitate to get straight to the point when Logan picked up.
"Windsor's gone," I said bluntly. "I think Sinclair has her somewhere in the South."
The silence that followed stretched long enough to make me wonder if he'd hung up.
I knew Logan had harbored some feelings for Windsor before. It didn't worry me much because those emotions had always been surface-level at best. Logan was incapable of real commitment. Windsor had probably shown him the compassion he desperately needed, and he mistook it for something deeper.
Finally, Logan let out a bitter laugh. "And why exactly should I care? She's your mate, right? Maybe she finally got smart and ran from whatever mess you dragged her into."
I clenched my jaw and pressed on. "Sinclair is behind this."
That killed his sarcasm instantly.
"This could be the break we need to take him down," I continued. "But we're running out of time. I need backup."
More silence filled the space between us.
