Chapter 9 - 9 (Wrapped in Warmth)

Milia quietly opened the bedroom door and stepped inside, moving with the grace that came naturally from years of training.

"What brings you here?" Sol asked, surprised by her sudden arrival.

With a playful smile and a mischievous glint in her eyes, Milia tilted her head. "Aside from wanting to see you?"

Her straightforward answer left Sol a little flustered. No matter how accustomed he was to her teasing nature, she still had a way of making him blush.

"Fufufu, I'm glad you can still get embarrassed like that," she chuckled softly, though her smile briefly faltered. "I was worried—"

"Worried?" Sol prompted.

"It's nothing. Anyway, I did want to see you, but the main reason I came was to remind you that Lady Edea is expecting you in her library for your lesson."

At her words, Sol jolted in alarm, cold sweat running down his back. He had completely forgotten about his appointment with his teacher, who valued punctuality above all else. If not for Milia's reminder, he would have been in serious trouble. Gratitude showed on his face as he smiled at her.

Edea Asmodeus, the "Witch of Time," was infamous for her strictness when it came to schedules. Any disruption to her routine was something she couldn't tolerate.

Sol was about to prepare for the lesson when Milia gently placed a hand on his chest, halting his movements. Her smile turned more alluring as she leaned closer.

"You don't have to go for a few hours yet," she coaxed. "Why not relax a little first?"

Sol hesitated, but Milia silenced him with a finger against his lips. With a playful but tender expression, she urged him to rest, assuring him she would take care of everything.

Though her tone carried a teasing edge, her affection was unmistakable. She wanted to soothe him, to ease the weight on his shoulders, and to remind him he wasn't alone.

Wrapped in her warmth, Sol slowly let go of his tension. He realized how much her presence comforted him. Despite all the sudden changes in his life, Milia's gentle care steadied his heart.

"Sol," she whispered, embracing him. "These past two days must have felt overwhelming. If you're ever tired or lost, know that I'll always be here to support you."

Her words filled him with a quiet sense of peace. "Thank you, Milia," he replied softly. "Your support means more to me than I can say."

At his gentle pat on her head, she flushed, pressing her cheek against his chest with shy happiness. "When you say it like that, it makes me feel embarrassed… but also really happy."

In that tender stillness, the two chose not to rush. Instead, they simply stayed close, wrapped in each other's warmth, drifting into a serene and blissful rest together.
