Chapter 22 - Chapter 19: Under Attack

The Rise of the God of Death

Chapter 19: Under Attack

After Daimon received the transferral ring from the merchant, he left the village and infused it with his full mana—away from prying eyes. The ring responded immediately, upgrading to the *pinnacle of the Excellence rank*, revealing its full potential: *350 free slots* and a mysterious hidden compartment.

From within that hidden slot, Daimon pulled out a blade cloaked in forgotten power—*the sword of the ring's creator*. As he grasped its hilt, he muttered in disbelief,

*"How did he acquire a sword from outer space…?"*

Upon infusing it with his lightning-aligned mana, the sword resonated with a perfect match. The weapon had once belonged to a *Lord-ranked swordsman*, a lightning specialist. Though their affinities differed, the sword welcomed Daimon's power. With a new weapon in hand, he set off toward the *City of the North*.

But the city was already under siege.

The *City of the South*, long-time rivals, launched a full-scale invasion. Led by a Vice General and *three powerful Commanders*, they overwhelmed the North's defenses. The difference in power was undeniable—tens of soldiers were slain by just a single commander. Citizens were captured, homes burned, and hope nearly vanished.

Among the captives were *Nil*, now recognized as the city lord's guardian, and *Lucy*, taken as a slave. They planned to execute Nil publicly, to mark the city's downfall.

Yet Nil, bound in chains, just grinned.

*"Your deadline is closer than you think…"*

And little Lucy, crying but defiant, whispered,

*"Uncle will come… and kill you all."*

Miles away, Daimon sensed the destruction. Smoke rose on the horizon. His expression darkened.

*"Lucy."*

And with that, he vanished from sight, sprinting with a speed no ordinary being could track.

In the ruined city, one of the commanders struck Lucy across the face, laughing cruelly,

*"No one's coming. You're doomed."*

Tears streaming, Lucy screamed from the depths of her heart,

*"UNCLE DAIMOOOOOON!"*

Suddenly, the battlefield froze.

A figure cloaked in black stood at the city's shattered gates, unnoticed until the pressure of his aura silenced all movement.

Every warrior—South and North—felt it.

*Daimon had arrived.*

No longer suppressing his energy, he unleashed his true aura. What everyone sensed… was not rage, not power—but *Death* itself.

His eyes locked on Lucy.

*"You dare touch… my Treasure."*

Nil smirked and turned to the stunned commander gripping him,

**"It's over.

You're doomed."**
