Chapter 102 - Chapter 102: The Mechanical Onslaught: Never Afraid of Numbers!

Countless citizens stared in shock, mouths agape, as the scene unfolded before them.

A second later, a massive army of Chitauri soldiers poured through the wormhole, flooding the skies in an unending torrent of metal and fire. The deafening roar of their invasion shattered the city's brief moment of curiosity, replacing it with raw, overwhelming terror.

No one was stupid everyone immediately understood what was happening.

The Chitauri had launched a sudden, full-scale assault, their advanced weaponry cutting through the city and its people like paper.

Tony Stark's eyes widened in horror as he witnessed the devastation. He clenched his jaw, thrusters igniting beneath him, and charged into battle without hesitation.

But he was only one man.

The Chitauri's numbers were simply overwhelming.

They spread like locusts, blanketing the city skyline.

Thankfully, just as the battle began to spiral out of control, S.H.I.E.L.D.'s aircraft arrived.

Inside one of the carriers, Nolan opened his eyes. Everyone on board already understood what was happening below.

Bruce Banner took a deep breath and said calmly, "Looks like it's time to let the Hulk stretch a bit."

Without another word, he leapt from the ship.

Thor, his eyes burning with anger, followed suit, Mjolnir blazing with lightning as he soared into the chaos below.

Nolan said nothing. He merely stepped to the edge of the ramp and dove after them, his black armor gleaming as he plummeted through the clouds.

Left behind, Natasha Romanoff, Clint Barton, and Steve Rogers exchanged uneasy glances.

They might have been wearing the latest versions of Nolan's black armor, but even so, none of them dared to jump from that height. A fall like that would kill even them.

As Nolan descended, the boosters on his armor roared to life, propelling him toward a Chitauri soldier riding a hovercraft.

In a blur, his blade flashed.

The alien and its vehicle split cleanly in two.

No energy shields. No defenses.

Nolan exhaled softly in relief but when he looked up again, that fleeting calm was crushed by the sheer magnitude of what he saw.

The massive wormhole was still expanding, spewing out Chitauri warriors in an endless, mechanical tide. The sky itself seemed swallowed by the invasion.

Even for someone like him, a wave of despair crept into his chest.

Down below, ordinary people could only watch, frozen in horror.

In Queens, a teenage boy named Peter Parker was watching television when his favorite show abruptly cut to a live broadcast of the attack.

His Aunt May, who had been cooking in the kitchen, blinked in confusion. "Baymax, what's that on the screen?"

Peter glanced at the white robot standing nearby.

The Parker household wasn't rich, but they owned a Baymax unit a personal medical assistant that had become popular in recent years.

"Unknown entities detected," Baymax replied. "Similar data is being uploaded to multiple global networks."

Uncle Ben walked in, his face grave. "This… this is war. The kind we've never seen before."

Then, realization struck. "May! Peter! We need to leave. Now! Find somewhere safe!"

Across New York, countless families were coming to the same conclusion.

Some people, however, refused to run.

"Damn monsters! I don't care where you came from get off my planet!"

A burly man grabbed his rifle and fired.

His aim was good one shot, one kill.

But before he could celebrate, a Chitauri soldier turned toward him and fired.

Half of his body vanished in a blinding flash.

A nearby child captured the moment on a phone, and within seconds, the clip flooded the internet.

"Oh my God," someone gasped in the livestream chat. "What are those things?!"

Panic spread like wildfire.

Even world leaders, watching the destruction unfold in real time, felt their confidence crumble.

The gap in technology was terrifying just one Chitauri weapon was enough to show how hopelessly outmatched humanity was.

And now, the Chitauri were everywhere.

Back at the Hive Base, alarms blared.

Everyone inside had seen the live footage of New York's destruction, and they knew what the sirens meant.

Sharon Carter and Jessica Jones looked deeply worried.

Only Nolan remained calm.

"Don't worry," he said quietly, standing up. "As long as I'm here, the Hive will not fall."

He turned toward the command console, issuing orders.

New York's battlefield had already been handed over to Red Queen the AI in charge of tactical coordination. Nolan's focus now was protecting the Hive first, and only then would he handle the crisis in New York personally.

Frank Castle watched the screens, eyes bloodshot. "Aliens…" he muttered. He had fought criminals, terrorists, monsters in human skin but never this.

Yet there was no time to hesitate.

The Chitauri were descending fast.

Frank raised his cybernetic arm. Behind him, hundreds of APU combat mechs stood ready.

"Fire!" he roared.

A storm of bullets filled the sky.

Hundreds of APU mechs unleashed their fury, creating a blazing wall of light and steel.

Even the Chitauri's overwhelming numbers faltered under the sheer might of Hive's firepower. Within minutes, the enemy assault was obliterated.

As Nolan had promised no one would harm the Hive.

Meanwhile, in downtown Manhattan, the T-X Terminator, still running on standby protocols, donned the Thunder Armor and tore through the enemy ranks.

But the Chitauri fell like rain, endless and unrelenting.

The Hulk rampaged across the battlefield, smashing everything in sight, roaring in frustration.

"Tony!" Captain America shouted as he deflected a plasma bolt with his shield. "We need a new plan!"

Tony smirked inside his helmet. "Don't worry. Our reinforcements just arrived."

Dozens of Iron Legion suits streaked through the air, followed by something even larger a massive drop pod crashing down from orbit.

The Hulkbuster armor.

It had been designed to fight the Hulk himself. But today, it would fight beside him.

"Let's smash!" Tony declared, slamming into the nearest Chitauri leviathan.

Explosions lit up the city.

Even in chaos, the sight of Tony's Iron Legion brought a glimmer of hope.

"Tony," Hawkeye called out, dodging a plasma bolt. "What's that big guy?"

Tony grinned. "My favorite toy."

He swung the Hulkbuster's massive fist, crushing a metallic serpent midair. The explosion painted the sky in orange light.

"The Hulkbuster," he said proudly, "my finest creation."

The crowd would have cheered if the Hulk hadn't punched him a second later.

For a heartbeat, the world went silent.

Their friendly rivalry drew a few strained laughs, easing the tension before battle swallowed them again.

"We need to close that portal!" Captain America shouted.

Above the chaos, at the top of Stark Tower, Thor and Loki clashed in a storm of thunder and sorcery.

Loki sneered, wielding the Mind Scepter with deadly grace. "Dear brother, your attacks are still as pathetic as ever."

"Loki!" Thor roared, "It's not too late. Come back with me to Asgard!"

But Loki only laughed. Shadows flickered then his true body appeared beside Thor, driving the scepter into his side.

Thor cried out in pain but swung his hammer in defiance.

The brothers' battle raged, lightning and magic tearing through the air.

With a cruel smile, Loki activated a runic circle beneath them. A glowing barrier flared to life, trapping Thor and sealing off the area from outside interference.

As long as the barrier held, no one could stop him.

Meanwhile, Natasha hijacked a Chitauri skimmer and sped toward the tower.

She spotted Thor through the shimmering barrier and frowned. Why wasn't he moving?

Before she could react, her vehicle slammed into something invisible. A massive explosion followed, and she tumbled to the ground, barely saved by her armor.

"This… just keeps getting better," she muttered, grimacing.

Inside the chaos, even Tony was beginning to lose hope.

He opened comms. "Nolan, please tell me your company has something anything left in reserve."

No reply.

"Nolan!" he shouted again.

Then, a deep mechanical hum filled the air.

Nolan finally turned, his voice calm but resolute. "Relax, Tony. From here on out… just sit back and watch."

The ground trembled.

A thunderous symphony of engines echoed across the city.

From every direction, swarms of machines advanced armored robots marching in formation, drones slicing through the air, their red optics glowing like fire.

Terminator units dropped from orbit like meteors, smashing into the streets before rising in perfect unison. NS-5 androids followed, their sleek silver bodies reflecting the flames of war.

Then came the SAR-1 combat drones, unleashing a storm of plasma and missiles.

Nolan stood atop a ruined skyscraper, his black armor glinting beneath the red sky.

A faint smile curved his lips.

"The mechanical tide," he murmured. "Never afraid of numbers."
