Silence fell over the group as Fugaku's words were unexpected, but most had been questioning Shisui's appearance at root. His movements had not been covert, so they were aware that he had met Danzo but what happened afterwards, they had no clue. The mention of a mangekyo sharingan stirred even more inner turmoil in the clan leaders. Koharu was about to interfere when Hiruzen's gaze silenced her.
"I don't know what you are talking about. Don't try to shift the conversation!" Danzo's words fell on deaf ears as Shusui's death took precedence."Shisui encountered an ambush while leading an Uchiha squad. The masked man, whose identity is still unknown, attacked using wood style and was bearing the Sharingan. When Shisui thought it better to bridge the gap between clan and village, his mangekyo sharingan was stolen. The very eye he used to risk his life to bring such intel to the village. Trusting you, Danzo to be a protector of the village he was ambushed again by your root operatives and lost his mangekyo sharingan and died of poison." With his last words, Fugaku looked at the Aburame clan leader.
Fugaku's words struck the silent crowd, many shocked and unaware of these undercurrents. Shikaku's expression changed as he glanced at Choza and Inoichi, sensing their neutrality would give way to siding with the clan faction.
Danzo stood with a dark face, he had no idea about the wood style user and the fact that he has chased away Shisui before obtained the intel churned his stomach but he couldn't let the others cast judgment onto him cause then he would lose root and Hiruzen's backing. Hiruzen stood aside, letting events unfold. He had learned that his efforts to keep a firm grip on the Hokage seat after Tobirama Senju's death had weakened the village. Perhaps now was the moment for the clan and village to unite."Blasphemy! Fugaku, you dare lie in front of the hokage!" His outstretched hand was pointing at Fugaku.
"Say that again!" Fugaku's Mangekyo flashed under the moonlight, its gaze searing into Danzo. Danzo instantly flickered back, his bandage falling away, Shisui's Mangekyo Sharingan gleaming in defiance against Fugaku's.
Danzo had reacted instinctively, such that when he came to it was already late." Danzooo!!" Fugaku bellowed the Susanoo, taking form as he launched towards Danzo."Damn it, stop them!" Hiruzen rushed forward, although he had suspected Danzo, seeing the truth in front of him, his gaze on Danzo turned into hatred. While that hatred was not steep, the fact that Shisui Uchiha, a potential pawn and guardian of the village, was lost to Danzo's irrational fear was the last straw. The Susanoo's arm slammed into Danzo, his bloodied figure sailing through the air.
"Don't push me, Fugaku!"
"Wind style: vacuum bullets!"
"Earth style: Earth wall." Fugaku flickered as the vacuum bullets pierced through the wall. Having just recently fought, he was low on chakra, but he had succeeded. Danzo had been exposed."Damn it!" Danzo cursed as he thought about the repercussions. There was no way he was getting off lightly. 'I will kill Fugaku here and use that jutsu on them.' Having thought of a plan, he went on the offensive."Shadow shuriken jutsu," countless shuriken rained down on Fugaku, who also retaliated using the Uchiha's shuriken technique. Shuriken bounced off one another, redirecting to Danzo's blind spots.
Just as they were about to continue, "Stop! As the hokage, Fugaku and Danzo, I order you stop." Hiruzen appeared, and with the other clan leader, they surrounded Fugaku and Danzo."Hiruzen! Don't be naïve. Cull the Uchiha while they are weakened now, you will never get another chance like this!" Danzo shouted his intent to fight lay bare."Uchiha clan!" Fugaku's shout was met with tens of Uchiha jonin and elite jonin surrounding the clan leaders. Fugaku encircled faced the hokage, "Lord Hokage, forgive me, but his head is mine. He is not leaving this compound alive. "His words caused Hiruzen to silently curse; he had thought Fugaku being less radical would come to reason."There is no need to go so far, Fugaku. You have exposed the truth, now let the village handle it." Shikaku's words shed light on the sentiment shared by the other clan leaders. Between Danzo's vacuum jutsus and Fugaku's mangekyo sharingan, they knew if they interfered, the result was crippling injuries or death.
"I want the hokage's word that Danzo will atone for his crimes."
"Fugaku, how dare you cast judgment! This matter is for the Hokage to decide!" Koharu's rebuke was met with a deadly glare by Homura and the clan leaders. Fugaku was coming to reason, but she had just screwed them over.
"Fugaku, this is why you should never trust them. Let's wipe them out here. We, the Uchiha, have no need for this crippled village. The clan will never be free of schemes from the hokage's faction!" Elder Setsuna's words were met with silent curses as most turned to the hokage.
"Danzo, stay your hand or I will put you down." Hiruzen, tired of this mess, wanted to de-escalate the situation. Though Danzo was calm outside, on the inside, he was furious at Hiruzen; his insistence felt like a betrayal. Though rash, he knew he couldn't kill or outrun everyone here. He was just about to surrender when Fugaku flickered his eyes, gleaming with killing intent."Fugaku!" The clan leaders shouted, but they were too late. Fugaku instantly appeared beside Danzo who responded with a kunai to the throat but he was late. Fugaku's firm hand yanked out Shisui's eye from Danzo, who scurried away, eyes burning with hatred.
"Fugaku! You rat bastard, I will kill you!" Fugaku retreated to towards the clan leader, sealing away the eye he turned to the hokage, " I was only claiming what belonged to the Uchiha."His words were met with stern looks and a glare from Hiruzen, though he understood he did not necessarily forgive.
"Surrender or else, Danzo."
