Chapter 155 - Chapter 155: Kiss! The Demon of Kissing is Here!

Being held by Hayashi Maki and pressed against the wall beside the lamppost was, of course, Eriri.

Her curse had started acting up again, so she had no choice but to bike over and have Hayashi Maki suppress it.

With him kissing her, Eriri was naturally nervous and incredibly embarrassed. But he was fairly gentle, and with the experience from last time, this time felt even more vivid.

Just as she was dying of embarrassment, an indignant voice sounded beside them.

"Hayashi, what exactly do you think you're doing?"

They parted, and Eriri—cheeks crimson—glanced at Miura Yumiko. Realizing a stranger had seen what just happened, she immediately hid her face against Hayashi Maki's chest. Looking up at him, she asked softly, "Maki-kun, is she your friend?"

"Just a classmate," Hayashi Maki said with a smile, ruffling her hair. "All set—head back for now, Eriri. We'll talk properly next time."

"…Okay."

Unhappy but seeing the hostility in Yumiko's eyes, Eriri flinched and quickly left—almost running. Eriri was timid, and Yumiko looked fierce; not wanting a confrontation, she fled.

Watching the twin-tailed girl leave, Yumiko snorted and demanded, "Hayashi, who is she? Can you look Mahiru in the eye after doing this?"

Hayashi Maki met her gaze calmly. "I don't see how that concerns you. Also, you just scared off my girlfriend—how are you going to make that up to me?"

"Huh? How does it not concern me? I'm Mahiru's friend; of course I have a right to ask! And isn't your girlfriend Mahiru? How can you cheat on her?"

Yumiko glared at him like he was something filthy.

Hayashi Maki smirked. "Who says you can only date one girlfriend? And don't change the subject. You chased off my girlfriend—how will you compensate me?"

"What?"

Yumiko stared at him in shock. "You want me to compensate you for that? You were the one who told her to go. How is that me 'scaring her off'?"

Hayashi Maki arched a brow and drew closer. "What else would you call it? You were glaring daggers at Eriri. If I hadn't sent her away, she'd have burst into tears. So yes—you scared her off."

"Heh. Yumiko, you'll compensate me yourself."

"You—what are you trying to do?" Yumiko's body trembled; she panicked and instinctively backed away.

It didn't help.

"Come here."

Hayashi Maki closed the distance in a flash and scooped her up, pinning her against the wall in a classic kabedon.

"Ah—w-what are you doing?"

Face blazing, Yumiko hammered his chest with tiny fists. Hayashi Maki simply caught her wrists and pressed them to the wall. With a practiced shift of his knee, he left the flustered girl unable to struggle.

"What could I be doing?"

Breathing in her faint fragrance, he leaned in with a crooked grin.

Tears welled in Yumiko's eyes. "How can you be like this? Hayashi, I'll stop meddling, okay? Let me go."

"Too late. That's what you get for butting in."

He pecked her lips with lightning speed.

Yumiko was stunned, instinctively wanting to cry out—only to be silenced by his forceful kiss.

After a while, seeing teardrops slide down her cheeks, he finally let go.

"Idiot—if you shout, do you want Shinka and the others to see? I don't mind. Can you handle them seeing you like this?"

Yumiko's heart lurched; she shook her head quickly. Of course she didn't want her friends to see her so rattled—though a part of her wished someone would come to her rescue.

While she wavered, Hayashi Maki's lips brushed her neck.

"That's better. Be good, Yumiko. You scared off Eriri—let me kiss you for a bit and I'll let you go."

Yumiko fumed—it wasn't her who scared the girl off! That Eriri ran because she was flustered. And what did he mean "let me kiss you for a bit"? There went her first kiss—her first hug—just like that.

Biting her lip, Yumiko turned her face away, not wanting to look at him. Her tears wouldn't stop. A straightforward girl pinned and kissed like this—how could she not cry?

Hayashi Maki kissed away the tears at the corners of her eyes and gave a crooked smile.

"So, Yumiko, don't you want to know why I'm doing this?"

"W-why? I don't remember offending you. And… I'll stay out of Mahiru's business, okay?"

He stole another brief kiss and murmured, "I don't believe you. You care most about your friends, don't you? Besides—Mahiru actually knows I have other girlfriends."

"She… she knows?"

Yumiko froze—her tears stopped instantly.

"Sure. If she didn't, I wouldn't be seeing anyone else. I've got Mahiru; you think I don't value her? As for why I'm going after you—it's because the way you look at Hayama annoys me."

"Hah? What's that got to do with Hayato-kun? Are you jealous?"

"Jealous? Of him?" Hayashi Maki gave her a hard kiss that left her breath short and her cheeks burning. Drawn into his topic, she somehow felt less afraid—curious, even.

"If you're not jealous, why does my look at him bother you?"

"Because I'm sick of you playing his shield. Hayama clearly likes someone else and has zero intention of dating you—yet he keeps stringing you along with that gentle act. That's what ticks me off."

"Eh? He… likes someone?" Yumiko stared at him, stunned.

"What else? Why do you think he never accepts one-on-one invites—only 'if everyone's going'? If he really liked you, is soccer practice that important? His dad's a famous lawyer—he'll land on his feet even without soccer. If he truly cared, wouldn't he skip practice and say yes to you?"

Yumiko's eyes filled again. "Liar. You're just jealous—Hayato-kun doesn't use me as a shield!"

"Heh. I've got Mahiru—what would I be jealous of?" He cut it off with another kiss. Yumiko tried to struggle, but pinned as she was, she could only close her eyes in helpless frustration.

Gradually, she seemed to slip into it—cheeks crimson, breathing quickening. Girls are emotional creatures.

For all his scummy behavior… he was handsome, and he hadn't hit her—just held and kissed her. That strange sensation sent her heart racing; her mind turned to mush, and she reflexively followed his lead.

After a long moment, Hayashi Maki finally released her mouth and wrists, and used a touch of mana to take the redness out of her wrists from struggling. Wiping her lips, he smiled.

"You know what to do now, right? If someone notices, I don't mind—but do you?"

Yumiko shoved him, face burning—she almost stumbled, and he steadied her by the waist. She jolted like she'd been shocked, slapped his hand away, and glared through gritted teeth.

"You pervert. Scum. I'm telling Mahiru. I'm calling the police!"

"Go ahead."

"You—you're not afraid?"

Most people would be. Hayashi Maki stepped in and kissed her deeply again. Yumiko pounded his chest to no effect. She'd even thought about biting his tongue to teach him a lesson, but he was too crafty, always sensing it and pinching to stop her. In the end she could only accept it, mortified.

When they finally parted, he said with a smile, "If I've got the nerve to kiss you, I'm ready to be hauled off, too. Call the cops if you like. And Mahiru knows about me—tell her if you want."

He patted her golden hair and turned away.

"Get back inside, or they'll dock your pay."

Yumiko stared blankly at his back, covering her mouth, stamping her foot in anger. Ugh! How could anyone be like this? She wasn't going to call the police anymore—but still… so hateful! How could he kiss her like that?

After a moment of turmoil, she straightened her clothes and skirt and went back inside. But her heart wouldn't calm down. That jerk Hayashi Maki's face kept flashing through her mind.
