I watched Kael struggle for words, and to be frank, it was the funniest shit I've seen today.
He opened his mouth and closed it… and then did it all over again like a drowning fish, his face now stained a bright shade of red.
I folded my arms across my chest, glaring at him, and when he still wouldn't speak, I drawled; "I guess we're done here then. I think you should take your leave no—"
"Wait, Leilani!" He called out quickly, but I didn't miss the way he blinked at Maya in confusion. His eyes darted between both of us for a millisecond and then he continued; "We're not done."
"What else is there to talk about?" I snapped, "…you just said you're sorry for 'almost killing me'. What else? Were you expecting that I'll jump to forgive you. After everything? After the shit you all have put me through?"
He lowered his head, his voice dropping into a whisper as he drawled; "But what else can I say besides sorry?"
"Maybe you should try leaving me the fuck alone for a start."
