As soon as Jay returned to the room and I saw the crazed look in his eyes, I immediately knew that something was up with his wolf.
I knew then and there that Kael and Zevran had to leave before he got triggered; and that was the only thing I thought about as I literally dragged Kael and Zevran out of the house before slamming the door in their faces.
I was panting by the time I was done with that, but on the bright side, Jay no longer looked so mad anymore. From the golden glint in his eyes, I instantly deduced that his wolf was still close to the surface but I wasn't scared.
Hell, I wasn't even bothered.
I simply walked over to him and began to caress his face gently, almost smiling when he leaned into my touch and closed his eyes, a low purr emanating from deep within his throat.
His eyes fluttered open slowly when I began to weave my fingers into his hair and he whispered quietly; "Are they gone now?"
"Yes, they are." I answered assuredly.
