This platform is obviously more lively. There are more small reptiles, Tiktiks, and Gruzes on the road, and even more cunning and insidious Gorms. Once a reptile or flying insect passes by the raised mound, it will be bitten by the Gorm that suddenly jumps out and then dragged into the deep pit.
Simon felt extremely disgusted with Gorm. These greedy guys seemed to never be full and kept eating all the time. Fortunately, the insects reproduced quickly, otherwise they would have been eaten up long ago.
Carefully avoiding these Gorms, Simon continued to advance. There were several wandering insect shells on the road. These were all dead. They were once intelligent insects, but now their bodies were resurrected by a mysterious power, but their consciousness was empty.
Different insect bodies have different behavior patterns after resurrection. Although they usually look dejected, they become active when they meet Simon. They want to kill Simon by ramming, butting, and trampling. Unfortunately, they are too stiff and are easily killed by Simon.
After they were killed, they also shed orange blood with a disgusting smell. Compared with the blood of reptiles like Gruz, although the color is similar, it is really not suitable for consumption.
As he walked, the space around the platform continued to shrink, as if it was getting closer and closer to the edge of the cave. Finally, he reached a stone wall with a spacious passage on it, connecting to the next cave.
This passage seems to be designed as a checkpoint, with steps and is very flat. It is impossible to see what is inside the passage, and you can only see it clearly by walking up the steps.
Simon had a feeling that there should be a Mother of Gruz here, and this was the design in the game.
Although he was not afraid of Gruz's mother, he did not dare to be careless.
According to the settings in the game, he was now at the back door of the passage, which was locked and would only be opened after defeating Mother Gruz. But now, Simon looked from afar and saw that the fence gate had not fallen.
He cautiously climbed the steps and looked into the checkpoint, only to see a thick hide on the ground and the bodies of several Gruz scattered around.
That thick hide belonged to Mother Gruz, and it was killed!
Simon was surprised and jumped into the level. The level was not big, but it seemed spacious because it was empty. There was an abstract sculpture of the White King on the wall and two fly lamps on the top.
The thick skin of the dead Mother Gruz was spread flat on the ground, along with a huge head. It looked like a carpet, but its pale and wrinkled shape was very distorted under the light, which would never satisfy the owner of the carpet. It was more like an evil and terrifying graffiti. Mother Gruz's head was limply tilted to the side, with a huge, deep wound on her forehead. Simon saw that the wound was the result of repeated blows from bone nails, and it was the only fatal wound.
As for why its body turned into a puddle, it was probably the result of the Gruz inside it breaking out. Those insects that crawled out of the mother's womb were now dead around its mother's body. The fatal wounds were still sharp, revealing the warrior's fierce and precise swordsmanship.
Simon gently stroked these beautiful wounds with his hands, which was simply an art. This kind of swordsmanship was like an industrial machine, simple and plain, but meaningful, allowing every swordsman to realize the long and hard training and excellent talent behind it.
After expressing his feelings, Simon guessed the reason for Gruz's unusual activity. He probably was busy preparing for the birth of the new Mother of Gruz.
The air was indeed filled with Gruz's agitated pheromones, but the message was too mixed, mostly unconscious mumbling, "Work hard, eat, eat, grow up..."
The commission from Shang Chong has a rough result. The cause of the incident should be that the unknown warrior killed the Mother of Gruz who was entrenched here, and then the Gruz people began to busy themselves with the birth of a new Mother of Gruz.
So what is missing now is conclusive proof.
Simon walked through the checkpoint and came to another cave, then followed the busy Gruzes to their secret nest, which was located in a remote area. There was a narrow hole in the wall. It was pitch black inside, but one could still clearly hear the heavy breathing and continuous chewing sounds echoing deep in the nest.
After thinking about it, Simon decided to venture deep into this Gruz lair to see with his own eyes whether a new Gruz Mother was growing up.
With his petite body, Simon didn't even need to lower his head to enter the cave. Holding a light fly lantern in his hand, he used a bone nail to push away Gruz who was busy on the road. He soon came to a fork in the road and chose one to enter at random.
There aren't as many traps in reality as in the game, so Simon walked smoothly. But as he went deeper, more and more artificial traces appeared around him, as if he had come to some lost ruins.
To Simon's disappointment, this passage did not go deep into the ruins, but just passed by them. The ruins themselves had collapsed and were buried under soil and rocks, making them not worth exploring.
Following the rumbling breathing sounds echoing in the passage, Simon went deeper and deeper. Fortunately, this road was passable. He came to a spacious cave, like a sunken basin. At the bottom lay a Gruz, which was obviously larger than its companions. There was a lot of food piled around it, and the Gruzes were still sending food here continuously. The big Gruz was eating frantically.
Simon had no intention of hunting these insects. He could not possibly kill them all, and the insects' vitality would allow them to reproduce endlessly.
Looking across the cave, there's a relatively large passageway. This is probably where Mother Gruz enters and exits. It's strange. She could live there alone, so why would she go there? Is she guarding something? Or is she being handed down a mission?
There was plenty of light in the cave, with light leaking in from the top, so Simon put away the lantern and walked along the edge to the other end of the cave. When he walked in, he found a side room, which should have been built by some kind of intelligent insects. It also had a mechanism door. The mechanism was right next to the door, a metal gate. After pulling it down, the door of the side room opened, and he entered with the lantern. This place had a lot of history, and it was estimated that it had never been maintained. All the light flies in the bulb above his head were dead.
There was an open box in the middle of the room. Simon leaned over to take a look and saw a pile of dead eggs and an amulet shaped like a Gruz.
At this time, Simon was surprised to find the amulet that had never appeared in the game. He took it out and saw two sockets on the back. It seemed that two amulet slots were needed to equip it.
What an unexpected gain. Simon was in a good mood. He followed the passage and left Gruz's nest.
