The next day, Min was busy trimming stems when the bell above the shop door chimed. Looking up, he felt his chest tighten—it was the same stranger from before.
"Good morning," the man greeted smoothly, his sharp smile in place. "I told you I'd be back."
Min forced a polite smile. "Welcome… Did you have something in mind today?"
The man strolled toward the counter, his steps unhurried. "Not particularly. I just thought I'd keep you company." His gaze flicked over Min's hands as he worked. "You're very precise. It's rare to see such care."
Min shifted uncomfortably, his fingers tightening slightly around the scissors. "I just do my best."
Before the man could say more, the door opened again. Kei stepped inside, his tall figure instantly changing the air of the shop. His gaze landed on the stranger, sharp and unwavering.
"Oh?" The man's smile widened. "And who might this be?"
"Kei," Min answered quickly, glancing between them. "He's… a regular here."
Kei moved closer, his presence calm but heavy. "And you are?"
"Just someone who appreciates good flowers," the stranger replied smoothly, tilting his head. "You must be important to Min, if he speaks of you like that."
Min blinked in surprise. "I didn't—" He stopped, his cheeks warming.
Kei didn't respond to the stranger's tease. Instead, he stepped to Min's side, his hand brushing against Min's briefly as he set down a small wrapped bundle of food. "Eat this later," he said, his voice low but firm.
The stranger's eyes gleamed with amusement. "Protective, aren't you?"
Kei's expression didn't change. "I don't see why I shouldn't be."
For a moment, the tension in the air felt almost tangible. Min fidgeted, wishing desperately to break it, but the stranger finally chuckled and turned toward the door.
"Well then, I'll let you both get back to work. But don't worry—" He glanced at Min one last time, his smile lingering. "I'll visit again."
The bell chimed as he left, leaving silence in his wake.
Min exhaled shakily. "…That was awkward."
Kei's gaze remained on the door. "Stay away from him when you can."
Min looked at Kei, his heart caught between unease and something warmer. "…You really are protective."
Kei finally met his eyes, his calm voice holding a quiet finality. "Only when it comes to you."
Min's breath hitched, and for a moment, he forgot how to reply.
