Chapter 8: Villain attack 2
Third Person POV
"Let the madness begin."
As soon as the young man whispered those words, the old man behind him raised his arms. Portals ripped open across the battlefield, and out stepped a horde of villains.
At least a hundred of them. Against barely thirty heroes.
The villains didn't wait for signals or orders—they charged the heroes and civilians immediately.
Chaos exploded. Screams filled the air, smoke rising as powers clashed. The difference in numbers became clear instantly: there would be many casualties.
Cathleen had left the strongest Pro Heroes in Washington, D.C. Some heroes were taking on five villains at once, but even that wasn't enough. They were drowning in sheer numbers.
And not all the heroes were combat-oriented—many were there for rescue and support.
And worst of all, the leader of this villain attack hadn't even made his move yet.
"This is bad! Why would that bastard be here? Wasn't he supposed to appear in New York?!" shouted Cow Lady as she slammed a villain's skull into the ground.
"It doesn't matter now, does it? We just need to hold the line and buy time. Let's hope Star wipes them out in New York and gets here fast," Electplant answered, electrocuting a villain into unconsciousness.
(AN: Both Cow Lady and Electplant made short appearances in the movie My Hero Academia: Two Heroes. Their rankings are unknown.)
Electplant leapt back, launching crackling bolts into the horde. "Don't let them reach the civilians! Evacuate them, now!" he barked.
...…..
"Now, now… we can't let them leave while the show's still going." Leonard's grin was sharp, his voice carrying like a preacher in a cathedral. He gestured, and the villain at his side stepped forward.
The man's quirk activated, and a small black dot appeared in the sky. It spread like spilled ink until the entire battlefield was sealed beneath a vast, suffocating dome.
The heroes froze. Their hearts sank.
They were trapped.
They couldn't fight and protect civilians at the same time. Despair rippled through the crowd.
"We… we're going to die," a civilian whispered.
Another dropped to his knees, broken.
Leonard threw back his head and laughed. It was not just laughter—it was a sermon.
"Yes! Despair! That is the truth of this world! Your heroes can't save you. They never could. Only the strong shape destiny, and the weak exist to be broken beneath their heels!"
His eyes gleamed with fanatic fire.
"You look at me and call me mad. But America is the mad one! My father saw the truth, and they silenced him. Locked him away because they feared him!" Leonard's voice rose to a roar, his words echoing within the dome like judgment.
"Now, you will see! When the strong seize what is rightfully theirs, when the weak are shackled, when the world bows to power—then there will be order! Then there will be peace! AND I—LEONARD SMITH—WILL BE THE ONE TO LEAD AMERICA TO ITS DESTINY!"
Spittle flew from his mouth, his arms stretched wide like a prophet at the altar. The battlefield quivered with his mania.
"Don't… don't give up! Star and Stripe will be here soon! Keep fighting! Just—don't give up!" a bloodied hero cried, his legs buckling beneath him.
But before he could say more, Leonard raised one hand. An invisible grip seized the hero, wrenching him into the air like a ragdoll.
"Why don't you worms understand? Bowing to me is the only salvation you'll ever have!" Leonard's fingers curled into a fist.
The hero's body convulsed, bones cracking audibly.
Leonard's quirk—Telekinesis—made him untouchable. He wove it around his body as a shield, a barrier that rendered Star's power useless. His very presence was suffocating.
"Please… someone help us," a little girl whispered, clutching her mother's arm.
"Everything will be alright. The heroes will save us," her mother lied, trying to keep her voice steady.
BOOOOM!
The dome shuddered violently as if struck by a god's hammer.
...…
Aaron's POV
One minute. That's all it took me to run home, grab my costume, and return to the explosion site.
What I found was a massive black dome sealing everything inside. The villains clearly wanted no one escaping.
More of the police force was gathering and surrounding the barrier to keep anyone from getting too close. So, I had to sneak in silently.
I touched the barrier. Solid. I pressed harder—nothing.
Then I unleashed Titan's Pulse at 100%. My body had grown strong enough to handle its maximum power without backlash. Still, the barrier didn't move an inch.
Fine. Plan B.
I activated my sixth quirk—Wind Manipulation—and flew upward, stopping above the dome. Titan's Pulse surged through me again, and this time I used Double Up to push my strength even further.
200% Titan's Pulse.
With Push & Pull, I accelerated my arm to unleash a strike beyond anything I'd thrown before.
BOOOOOOM!
My fist detonated against the barrier. It shook violently… but held.
Stronger than the barrier I'd broken when rescuing Melissa. Damn.
"Alright then," I muttered, grinding my teeth. I focused my strikes on one point, unleashing a flurry of punches.
BOOOOM!
BOOOOM!
BOOOOM!
The dome trembled but refused to shatter.
"What a ridiculously sturdy barrier. Not even my barrier quirk is this strong."
Each strike carried the same weight as Midoriya's 20% OFA. The sheer force would have leveled buildings—yet still, it wasn't enough.
Then an idea sparked.
"Let's try this…"
I flew hundreds of meters into the sky, halting directly above the dome. The wind gathered, spiraling into a massive spinning drill.
Next, I coated myself with my barrier quirk. The shimmering blue shell clung tight to my body like a second skin.
Focus. Maintain the shapes. No slip-ups.
Then—I activated every quirk at once.
With Push & Pull accelerating my descent, I plummeted toward the dome at breakneck speed, the spinning wind drill leading the charge.
CRAAAAASH!
The impact was deafening. The dome shattered under the force, the barrier crumbling apart. The air itself screamed as the barrier shattered, shards of black energy raining down like glass.
I immediately deactivated Wind Manipulation and the barrier quirk. Couldn't let anyone know I had multiple quirks.
Silence washed over the battlefield. For one long moment, everyone froze, staring upward.
Then a voice cried out: "It's… it's HERO!"
Murmurs spread instantly, hope flickering in desperate eyes.
I ignored it. My gaze swept the battlefield. Too many villains. Too few heroes. They were drowning.
Fine. Time to thin the herd.
"What are you gawking at?! EVACUATE!" I roared. Then I dove in—into the massacre.
The heroes and officers snapped out of their stupor, rallying to the evacuation.
Third Person POV
The police and rescue heroes seized the opportunity, guiding civilians out of harm's way once more.
Overhead, a helicopter hovered. A news reporter and cameraman broadcasted the battle live to every TV screen in America.
"We've just arrived at the site where the villains are attacking," the reporter's voice trembled slightly, though she forced composure. "The destruction already is catastrophic… but this may only be the beginning."
She glanced at the heroes below, battered and bloodied, yet still standing. "Still, they're fighting. We must believe in their victory."
The cameraman suddenly nudged her, pointing. "Look! Over there! Someone's cutting through the villains like nothing!"
"Zoom in!" she ordered.
The lens focused, and her eyes widened. A smile spread across her face.
"It's Hero. He's here—fighting alongside the pros. From the looks of it, he's cutting down the enemy at incredible speed, reducing their overwhelming numbers."
On the battlefield, Aaron's blade flashed.
Since acquiring Wind Manipulation, his fighting style had shifted. Less brute force. More speed. The short blade strapped to his back suited him perfectly.
'Too dangerous alive.' He cut one down.
'That one dies.' Another down.
'These… knock them out.' He decided.
Aaron was analyzing his surroundings even when fighting.
Not every villain died—only the most troublesome ones, or those with quirks he desired. He felt no guilt. They'd chosen their path, as he had his.
I neared another one but the villain sensed my presence and swung his right arm in a wide arc, but unfortunately for him I was still too fast for him.
I ducked under his arm and punched him in the face. I am using Titan's Pulse and Double Up to finish this as quickly as possible. Making me as strong as Midoriya at OFA 18%.
Aaand he fell—until suddenly, searing flames erupted, forcing Aaron back.
From the inferno, a man in a crimson suit emerged.
"You've been quite the headache for the boss," the man sneered, strolling forward. "First, you ruined our plans by rescuing that little brat of David's. Then you raided one of our bases and freed all those children—cost us plenty of trouble, you know."
His eyes narrowed, a cruel grin spreading.
"And now, here you are again, standing in our way. But don't worry—I won't kill you. The boss wants that honor for himself. He'll carve you apart personally."
The man snapped his fingers. A torrent of raging fire roared toward Aaron.
