Chapter 12 - chapter 12:

Sajid used his powers again and again. By the time it was getting dark, he had gotten enough fruit for his daily quota. Unlike most people, Sajid feels less hungry, and he needs to eat less to keep his body in optimal condition. After getting his food, Sajid felt full, and it was getting dark. Sajid decided to go home to rest. After reaching home, Sajid decided to meditate before sleeping. Sajid started meditating and looked for changes in his body. As Sajid was meditating, he could feel that the power jinn had slightly improved. This made him think that the more he uses his power, the more he can improve his power and get better control over his power. But all of these can only happen if his body can keep up with his increased magical power.

Sajid was also able to sense that his powers had different facets and levels to them. It reminded him of the Jinn's saying that the power given to people is very unique and only a handful of people can understand it and use it effectively. Sajid felt excited that, in the future, his powers might be able to give him more of a boost. After meditating, Sajid decided to sleep for the day.

The next morning, Sajid decided to start a new and again start practising to climb a tree. He then chose a relatively modest tree and started training. By the time it was afternoon, he finally managed to get the hang of it. By now, he can climb a modest tree relatively easily, and he knows exactly where to put his foot while climbing a tree. But still climbing that huge tree that Rajesh lives in will be a lot of work.

Still, Sajid wanted to give it a try. So he went to Rajesh's house and saw that huge tree again and how high the branch was where Rajesh's home was located. Sajid felt nervous, but he still wanted to try to find out where his weakness was. Sajid called Rajesh, but he did not respond. He called again, and this time he got the answer from behind. He saw that Rajesh was carrying some bags, and the fragrance of meat and fruit was coming from them.

Rajesh probably came from his hunt and exchanged his game with the villagers for food and other daily necessities. Rajesh asked Sajid if he was ready and also told him that if he could climb that tree by today, he (Rajesh) would cook him some of his hunted bear meat. Sajid realised that Rajesh probably wanted to encourage him to do his best. Sajid replied that he will do his best.

Saying that, Sajid went near the tree, took deep breaths, and started climbing the tree. At first, he was nervous, and he started to get his bearings, and he started to climb faster and higher. Finally, Sajid was very close to Rajesh's home, but he was tired and his body was not moving at all. Sajid decided to take a stop for a few moments to catch his breath. But while he was catching his breath, Sajid saw that Rajesh was climbing the tree very easily. Climbing would not have been the right word here, as he was just literally walking from the trunk of the tree to his house while carrying his food. Along the way, he patted his shoulder for encouragement.

The scene was just like his vision; he used his power on this tree to try to figure out how Rajesh commutes daily. Seeing Rajesh's incredible skill, a renewed vigor awoke in Sajid. He started again climbing the tree and finally managed to get to Rajesh's house. Rajesh smiled at him and told him to enter his house. Upon entering Rajesh's house, the first thing he noticed that the different kinds of weapons that were hung up on the wall, as well as his trophies of animal parts from his hunts.

Different kinds of animal parts were hung up on his wall, but mostly heads and teeth. Sajid realised that Rajesh likes to keep animal parts, especially heads of animals, as trophies to decorate his house. Rajesh's house was simple and clean. There were no tables and chairs, only one bed and a small shelf where he had put his utensils. Sajid sat on the floor while Rajesh was busy preparing the food. Rajesh gave Sajid meat and rice in a bamboo leaf, and he himself got the same food and started eating. Sajid also started eating and found that the taste was delicious.

After getting his fill, a thought pops up in Sajid's mind about where Rajesh will keep the rest of the meat and how he is going to preserve it. So he asked Rajesh, and in reply, Rajesh told him that there is a villager who has the power to keep things fresh and cold. He got him to use his powers on his food, so the food will be kept fresh for a few more days. Hearing that, Sajid asked Rajesh another question to Rajesh that if everyone had powers in this village.

Rajesh replied that most had powers in this village. Mostly the old folk, but the new generation did not. Because their parents do not want their child to suffer the same fate as them and want them to be free. Rajesh then told him some of the backstory of this village. Rajesh told Sajid that the village of Fatehpur was just an ordinary village in the past, and its members were simple humans. They just wanted to survive in this godforsaken forest. Many of this village's inhabitants were not born here and came from outside.

Some were criminals, thieves, rapists, and committed other crimes. While some could bear the sultan's rule and wanted to rebel while some just could not afford to live in the cities and support their families tried their luck on loans. Some could not afford to pay the payments, and as a result, they came to this forest to hide from their collectors. While many people came to this forest for different reasons and under different circumstances, they all got united in this forest to survive; they could not leave this forest.
