Tuni discovered that Nemo was renting a house in a secluded spot in Downhill. As soon as they had the address, Tuni, Bipin, Dev, and Aalo set out for Nemo's place. Nayan stayed back at the office, just in case she was needed.
On the way, Bipin noticed that Dev looked worried while Aalo appeared lost in thought—their demeanors completely contrary to their usual natures.
Then, his gaze shifted to Tuni, who was sitting beside him; she looked exhausted. Glancing in the rearview mirror, Bipin saw that the sparkle in his eyes and the smile that usually played on his lips were missing. That has faded with time. When he first joined the police force, it was his dream; now, it has become a duty.
Bipin stopped the car in front of Nemo's house. Everyone stepped out and walked towards the entrance. As soon as Dev gave the door a gentle push, it swung open.
They immediately stepped inside.Tuni realized that they were far too late; what was bound to happen had already happened.
Upon entering, they saw the floor covered in blood and blood spatters on the walls. A dead body lay amidst the blood—the head severed from the torso.Tuni and Bipin couldn't believe that anyone could be so cruel.
Aalo noticed that the corpse's hands were tied. She instructed the forensic team to arrive quickly. After a thorough examination of the body and the surrounding area, the forensic team was allowed to take the body away for an autopsy.
Back at the office, everyone was worried; the investigation had effectively stalled, returning to the very point where it had begun after Nemo's death.
However, Bipin noticed that Dev did not appear worried—something Bipin appreciated, as he was not used to seeing Dev look anxious.
Dev had no worries because he knew there was no point in worrying; what was bound to happen would happen.
Bipin looked towards the Aalo and asked, "What happens now?" "The killer knew that Nemo lived in a secluded spot—a place where they could come and go undisturbed, without being noticed by anyone."
Tuni said, "I suspect the killer was someone Nemo knew personally. We've examined the entire house, and there are no signs of forced entry or broken locks on the doors or windows."
As soon as he heard Tuni's words, Dev exclaimed, "The landlord of the house where Nemo was renting a room—he could come and go whenever he pleased, since he would certainly have a key to the front door. The landlord could easily have killed Nemo. He might well be the real murderer."
Nayan nodded in agreement with Dev.
Bipin said, "Then let the landlord be asked to come here—for questioning."
"No," Alo replied in a stern voice. "The situation isn't the same as before; it has split into two parts. First, we need to find out whom the killer will target after Nemo, because saving the next victim is our responsibility. Catching the actual killer comes after that."
As soon as Aalo spoke, Dev interjected, "How are we supposed to figure out whom the killer will target next? And how can you be so certain that the killer will definitely commit another murder?"
Aalo looked at Dev with a languid gaze and said, "Your brain isn't working at all these days. I mean, answering all your questions... you look so foolish... the kind of questions you ask."
This was the first time Bipin saw Dev get angry. It seemed to Bipin as though Aalo was adding fuel to the fire burning within Dev. Although Dev forced a smile onto his lips, his expression remained unchanged. Seeing Dev in such a state, a sense of joy stirred within Aalo.
Then, Aalo began speaking confidently, "We need to locate the village where Nemo lived twenty-seven years ago. Everything that has happened so far suggests that these murders are somehow linked to that village." Everyone agreed with Aalo.
