When Marco opened his eyes again, he found himself back in the snow, witnessing a terrifying battle.
A massive Treant, composed of Weirwood, was locked in combat with a giant Ice Monster. They seemed like two world-destroying beasts, unleashing their power with abandon, as if they would shatter the entire space around them.
At the moment, the Treant appeared to have the upper hand. Its giant, white trunk seemed to pulse with endless power, and each attack forced the Ice Monster to retreat.
The sharp claws, made of sturdy branches, inherited the Weirwood's resilience. Each strike tore away large chunks of the Ice Monster's icy blue "flesh." The Ice Monster was driven back, looking as if it were about to fall!
Just as the Ice Monster seemed on the verge of collapse, the Treant furiously swung a claw. The Ice Monster braced itself with its left side to deflect the blow. Suddenly, a surge of immense power erupted from its body, and its right hand coalesced into a giant ice spear.
The Ice Monster seized the opportunity, firmly holding its ground against the Treant's attack. With its right hand, it thrust the spear, plunging it deep into the Treant's chest.
Frigid, bone-chilling, azure energy rapidly ravaged the Treant's body. A torrent of red liquid gushed from its chest. Yet, the giant Treant refused to yield. In its pain, it drove its own sharp claws deep into the Ice Monster's back.
The Ice Monster howled in agony, unleashing all its strength. It slammed into the Treant, sending it flying far away. With this blow, a considerable distance separated the two behemoths. Severely wounded, neither of the colossal monsters dared to attack, instead glaring fixedly at each other.
After a tense standoff, the Treant abruptly yanked the ice spear from its chest. It tossed the spear aside, and a green light flashed from its chest. The massive wound visibly began to heal, as if it had been gathering strength to mend itself.
Once its wound was healed, the Treant charged towards the Ice Monster, whose back was streaming with blue blood. Powerful energy crackled on its right claw, as if it intended a killing blow. Just as the Treant's claw was about to strike the Ice Monster's head, the Ice Monster suddenly opened its mouth and spewed out a stream of eerie blue energy.
The corrosive blue energy carried a terrifying impact force. The Treant, caught off guard, was slammed by this powerful force, sending it flying a great distance.
The blue energy burned the Treant's body like fire. After tumbling several times on the ground, the Treant finally stopped. Its body was severely damaged, and red liquid flowed everywhere. From a distance, it seemed to have lost consciousness, and its body was contorted into a bizarre arc.
Marco, seeing this, felt a subtle unease. He immediately wanted to run over and check, but found his body completely unable to move. He could only stand there and watch quietly. However, Marco saw the Treant's fingers twitch slightly!
The Ice Monster weakly roared, dragging its injured body towards the Treant. Blue light shimmered on its ice claws, as if preparing to deliver the final blow to the Treant.
Just as it was about to attack the Treant, the Treant's body contracted violently, transforming into a wooden serpent. This twisted, broken wooden serpent quickly wrapped around the Ice Monster.
The Ice Monster's limbs and body were tightly bound. The wooden serpent wriggled frantically, squeezing the Ice Monster's body. Then, seizing its chance, it burrowed directly into the Ice Monster's mouth.
Due to his severe injuries, the Ice Monster was completely unable to resist. The wooden serpent directly invaded its body, and the Ice Monster's body began to swell. One by one, wooden thorns emerged from the cracks in its body.
The Ice Monster collapsed to the ground, howling in agony. Its body continuously slammed against the ground, and the sound of its anguished cries spread outwards like a tangible force, cracking the frozen ground around it. The two massive monsters were locked in a stalemate, neither yielding.
After several more minutes, the Ice Monster could no longer hold on. Its body exploded, and "flesh" made of ice and snow splattered everywhere.
The wooden serpent, composed of the white Weirwood trunk, appeared on the scattered remains of the Ice Monster, covered in blood. After violently contracting, its body gradually shrank, returning to the form of the Three-Eyed Crow.
He was covered in wounds and looked very disheveled. He looked at Marco's location and shouted loudly:
"Marcol, my lord! It seems I can only wait for the next opportunity. Run! It's coming!"
"Awooo!"
A tremendous roar echoed throughout the space. The area immediately transformed into streaks of energy. Marco lost all consciousness after the roar.
Beneath the weirwood tree, Marco slowly opened his eyes, gently sighing. Moonshadow immediately rushed over, supporting him as she asked:
"Marcol! What's wrong? I felt the turbulent power within you. Did you encounter something terrifying? I can still sense the resentment contained within that consciousness!"
Marco gently patted her hand, saying, "I'm fine! Don't worry. However, your Green Seer might not be able to come. Leaf, you should try to contact him! I need to return to the castle to find some information. This time, he may have encountered a tricky opponent!"
Marco's combat interface didn't show any notification of the death of his summoned creatures, so he guessed that the Three-Eyed Crow hadn't died yet.
The last creature that appeared reminded Marco of a certain mysterious being. There were many ancient legends in the world of Game of Thrones, and the legends of gods had never ceased. However, the descriptions of the Long Night were surprisingly consistent.
In every legend, a story was described: a dark god brought an endless "Long Night," and in the end, a great hero ended the dark age.
Marco slowly stood up, calling Moonshadow over. Together, they walked towards Griffin Fortress. He needed to look up some information now. Maester Aemon from the Night's Watch had given him some materials when Marco visited.
After returning to the castle, Marco immediately began searching the bookshelves. He had always been very interested in the legends of gods in this world and had been collecting their information because, whether in the TV series or the novels, there had always been traces of gods in this world.
Marco didn't know when they would appear, nor did he know their abilities. However, if he were truly to conquer the world in the future, he would likely have to face them. Although the gods' powers in the television series seemed weak, any being called a "god" in any world was never easy to deal with.
Fortunately, Maester Aemon of the Black Castle had a lot of information and notes. He had spent a lot of effort searching for these materials when he was trying to hatch dragon eggs. After Marco revealed his identity to him, he also received a lot of information. The last time the Wolf Fang group returned to Skagos Island, they brought it all back together.
Marco searched for a long time and finally found the information he was interested in in a notebook called "Yi Ti Legends." The guy from earlier looked a lot like a certain dark god from the Yi Ti legends.
Yi Ti was a region in the eastern part of Essos. It lay east of Qarth and the Bone Mountains, on the north shore of the Jade Sea. East of Yi Ti were the legendary Shadow Lands and Asshai, where Daenerys's three dragon eggs came from.
Yi Ti had always been a mysterious eastern land in the eyes of the people of Essos and Westeros. Its existence was like that of the ancient Middle Kingdom on Earth. The Thirteen of Qarth (the black, fat guy who wanted to freeload off Daenerys) had accumulated a lot of wealth through trade with Yi Ti.
In the Yi Ti legends, the two most famous main gods were the Night Lion and the Daughter of Light, representing life and death, light and darkness, respectively.
In the mythical legends, the descendants of these two gods became the rulers of the world. However, when it came to the last empress, her brother usurped the throne, causing the people to suffer. They were then punished by the Night Lion, which brought about the endless Long Night.
Marco wrote this information down on paper with a quill. The Long Night, the Night Lion, the stones that fell from the sky, the Daughter of Light. After integrating this information, Marco found that these things actually matched up with some of the present beings.
This Night Lion likely represents the legendary Other God. The Lord of Light and the Daughter of Light are also probably the same, or perhaps successors in some sense.
"So, where did this stone that fell from the sky come from? Is it the same one the Three-Eyed Crow encountered? Do these entities have a connection to that Red Comet?"
Marco muttered to himself. This stone, which fell from the sky, had destroyed two civilizations. The strange legends surrounding it made Marco inevitably think of the "Red Comet," which was also related to the sky.
Back on Earth in his previous life, some experts had proposed that the Red Comet represented the return of magic in the world of Game of Thrones. Dragons were resurrected after the Red Comet appeared, and magic reappeared as well. Many people in that world believed that magic was related to dragons, but Marco thought that the comet was the true source of magic.
"It seems I need to speed up the construction progress. If that Three-Eyed Crow is really turned into a White Walker, my future days won't be good at all!"
Just as Marco was about to open the construction sequence, Moonshadow's voice suddenly came from the side. She said to Marco:
"Marcol! Leaf and the others have contacted the Green Seer, but he seems very weak. He can no longer communicate with you like before. They said you must return to the Weirwood Tree!"
After Moonshadow finished speaking, a bee in her hand turned into specks of starlight and disappeared into the air. Seeing Marco's curious gaze, Moonshadow smiled and explained:
"I summoned these bees, they can send messages for me!"
"Oh! How far can they send messages?"
Marco asked curiously. This thing was comparable to a telephone! If developed well, Marco could completely achieve remote command and strategic deployment in the future.
"As long as there's a Weirwood Tree, I can summon them. Especially inside the castle, they can appear whenever I want. But unfortunately, the words they can record are too short."
Moonshadow's words instantly excited Marco. He grabbed Moonshadow's hand and said:
"Really? Then let's go to the Weirwood Tree first. Afterwards, we'll test this new ability. If it really works, it will be a great help to me, thank you, Moonshadow!"
Hearing Marco's words, Moonshadow's face instantly flushed red, seemingly a bit shy. She said to Marco:
"Yes! Okay! As long as it helps you, I will definitely do my best!"
Marco was currently preoccupied with the matter of the Night Lion, and didn't notice Moonshadow's current state. Compared to the Forest Child form she'd previously taken, Moonshadow now seemed even more human. She was now a being with emotions and reactions.
Marco led Moonshadow all the way to the weirwood tree. When they arrived, Leaf hurried forward. At this time, the Moonstone was wrapped in vines, its condition somewhat similar to Brynden's.
Seeing Marco arrive, the Moonstone raised its eyes, one blue and one green, and said to Marco:
"Lord Marcol! You don't need to worry about me. I'm still alive. However, the Other God used some special ability to destroy the last trace of my memory regarding spacetime magic. I don't think I'll be able to use it anymore!"
"Now, the only way is for me to conduct a one-on-one consciousness transformation with this child, but I estimate that the Night King and his forces will definitely try their best to stop him. We must reconsider how to solve this problem!"
"So, this is the first time you've seen that guy? What exactly is it?"
Marco asked the Three-Eyed Crow.
"My memories are now even more chaotic. I don't remember many things before the Battle of the Dawn. I can feel that it has been constantly eroding my memories. Each time I change bodies, a portion of my memories disappears!"
The Three-Eyed Crow said, a little despondent.
He was now just a collection of soul and memories. The power in his body would come out and cause trouble from time to time. The battle had already ended this time, but in the end, that unknown being came out to cause trouble again, directly rendering the Three-Eyed Crow's efforts during this period completely useless!
"Didn't you just say the Night King? Did it appear too?"
Marco asked next.
"This time, it actually came directly to my green dream realm, and that monster was summoned by him! Lord Marcol! The wildlings are basically almost integrated now. Some tribes in the Haunted Forest have fled to near Hardhome. I think you can start that plan. With that place as a springboard, you can also safely bring this child over to me!"
"Alright! Let's do it like this for now! I will start as soon as possible, and you must cooperate there too!"
"Yes! Lord Marcol!"
