Back in the years in small town of wealder,there was once two friends by name Charlie and Chandra.Charlie came from a noble family and Chandra from middle class family ,they were very close despite the difference in their status.
Their relationship continued even when they turned into young adults,but one thing separated them,Chandra and Charlie felled in love with the same person with out each other's knowledge.
"Charlie,there will be a party held in the palace this evening, the royal family invited us."Chandra cheerfully said.
"Were your family invited?"Chandra asked
"Yes"Charlie replied
"Oh!,i wish the prince would notice in today's event "Chandra said with a dreamy look.Charlie peeped at her and looked away,up till now she finds it hard to believe that she and her felled in love with the same person,she didn't know how to tell her that she's also praying for the same thing.
"Charlie are you with me?"Chandra asked when she noticed that Charlie's expression looks absent and distance.
"Mm....um ...yea...what did you say?"Charlie asked
"I said that i wish that prince Xandros will notice me at the party."Chandra repeated.
"Ohh!yes,me too ''Charlie said as she brushed off some invisible dirt on her skirt.
"Um..Chandra,i guess it's time to take my leave ''Charlie said as she stood up
"Is everything alright?, your coachman has not arrived yet"Chandra asked concerned.
'She is even more beautiful than me, even though she did not come from a noble family."the thought only infuriated her more.
"And who are you to tell me what to do and when not to?."Charlie asked fully enraged by the thought.
"Charlie..."Chandra whispered.
"Am out of here "Charlie said and left lea ving Chandra dumbfounded .
"What happened to your friend?"Marilyn, Chandra's mother asked.
"I don't know,mom "Chandra responded as worry mared her face.
"Leave her alone for a while,she will come around,i believe."Marilyn said.
"Your dad will be back soon, Let's prepare dinner."Marilyn said said and tugged her in side
As the party commenced that evening,every one especially the maidens dressed beautifully not knowing who will be the lucky one.
"Every one , your presence is needed at the dining hall"The royal butler announced gaining everyone's attention.
"You all know the reason for celebration,and my son has to a conclusion on who to make his bride."The king said in a deep monotonous voice.The maidens looked at each other and excitedly waited for the person to be called out.
"Chandra from the wallory's family"The king said and waited for the person to come out but no one did.
Chandra couldn't believe that she was choosed by the prince,she stood and was lost in thoughts until prince Xandros gently pulled forward to sit beside him, every one was dumbfounded and Charlie stood by the side surprised at before her expression drastically changed at the thought of not being choosed after all she did for the prince to notice her.
"This can't be happening, among all the nobles the prince choosed this middle class girl."Charlie said in a low voice between clenched teeth.She left the celebration and went back to lick her wounds in solitude.
"Charlie dear, you did not inform us before leaving."Marianne, Charlie's mother said as she walked to where she is sitting.
"Mom,is something wrong with my appearance,am i not goodlooking?,why is it that i don't get want ever i want ."Charlie asked admist of tears.
"What are you talking about dear, you are blessed to have everything,so what else do you want?"Marianne asked her voice laced with affection and motherly love.
"Why did the prince choose Chandra in stead of me?"she asked subbing.
"Chandra is the one who he loves, don't worry,i know that you are made for someone more better than the prince."Marianne said as she tried to console her,she knew that her daughter loved the prince but he had made his choice no one can deny fate.
"Mom, is there something you can do to get the prince to choose me instead?"Charlie asked looking at her mother 's face.
"Nothing dear, nothing."she said her face holding a distance look as she remembered her time as a maiden.
