A little after nine in the morning.
Tokyo, Nerima Ward.
Lin, carrying Akashiya Moka, returned to his residence, landing in the courtyard.
The barrier around him dissipated.
Without immediately setting Akashiya Moka down, he carried her into the living room.
He sat down on the sofa.
He looked down at Akashiya Moka.
Akashiya Moka tilted her head up slightly to look at Lin, a faint blush lingering on her fair, lovely face.
Their eyes met.
Each saw their own reflection in the other's eyes.
Lin leaned down.
He captured a soft, red lip.
Akashiya Moka closed her eyes, still responding with timid inexperience, her hands still wrapped around Lin's neck.
They parted after about five minutes.
Akashiya Moka's eyes were somewhat glazed over as she panted, her face flushed crimson.
He waited for her to gradually come to her senses.
Lin looked at her, smiled, and said, "By the way, Moka, there was something I forgot to tell you before."
"What is it?"
"Before you, I actually already had a retainer."
"Eh?!"
Akashiya Moka was a little surprised.
Then, an unusual emotion couldn't help but bubble up inside her.
It was a bit like jealousy.
She had originally thought she was Lin's first retainer, perhaps even his only one.
However, she wasn't the only one.
She wasn't even the first.
Lin looked directly into Akashiya Moka's eyes and said with a serious expression:
"Moka, listen to me."
"I know I'm fickle and greedy, so there will be others who become my retainers in the future."
"I won't make promises I can't keep."
"But I can guarantee one thing."
"No matter how many retainers I have in the future, you, Moka, will always be unique in my heart."
"I will never abandon you."
"In my heart, there's no first or last among you; I'll treat you all equally, because you are all equally important to me."
He was being completely honest with Akashiya Moka.
He directly delivered his 'all of you are my wings' declaration of universal love.
Perhaps doing so was a bit unnecessary.
But Lin decided to do it anyway.
After all, since Akashiya Moka and the others had decided to become his retainers, he had to be honest with them.
Akashiya Moka: "..."
Listening to Lin's confession, their eyes locked, she could seemingly feel the sincerity coming from the bottom of his heart.
She was silent, her gaze flickering.
A moment of inner conflict flashed by.
She quickly made her decision.
She got up and straddled Lin's lap, meeting his gaze.
A watery ripple appeared in her eyes, and a blush crept onto her pretty face:
"Kiss me."
Although she couldn't be Lin's only retainer, her deepest desire was to never be separated from him.
So the outcome was clear.
Besides, neither she nor Lin were ordinary people. One was a vampire, the other was, well, a person with superpowers.
They were beings different from ordinary humans.
Some viewpoints of ordinary people couldn't be rigidly applied to them.
For instance, having only one partner?
As far as she knew, her adoptive father, Shuzen Issa, had more than one partner, and her sisters had different mothers.
So she quickly accepted the fact that Lin would have many retainers.
She was willing to trust Lin.
To believe his promise.
Because in that promise just now, Lin didn't say anything like, 'you're the most important one in my heart.'
Within the cross's alternate dimension.
Inner Moka, who shared this memory, frowned slightly, her gaze flickering for a moment before her brows relaxed.
Since Lin had already conquered her with his 'strength' before.
Then as long as Lin didn't abandon her, she wouldn't give up either.
Seeing that Akashiya Moka had made her decision, Lin's gaze softened into a gentle smile as he tenderly captured her red lips.
Akashiya Moka wrapped her arms around his neck.
Although she was gradually becoming more proactive.
She wasn't as bold as Inner Moka.
"Let's go to the room," she whispered, her face beet red.
Her beautiful eyes shimmered like a lake at dawn, rippling with light.
Her affection seemed to condense into something tangible.
Things having come to this, and hearing Akashiya Moka say as much, Lin certainly wasn't going to play the part of a saint and remain unmoved.
Gently supporting her perky bottom with his left hand, he stood up and headed upstairs.
Everything fell into place naturally.
A barrier enveloped the bedroom.
Two and a half hours later.
After finishing their special training, Lin used Sky Magic on Akashiya Moka.
Then he let Inner Moka come out.
Her state was the same as after she had drunk his blood before.
Her pupils turned blood-red, and her long pink hair turned silver-white.
"Again!"
She pushed Lin down.
Looking at the assertive Inner Moka.
A pleased curve formed on Lin's lips.
He closed his eyes, pillowed his hands behind his head, and let Inner Moka play as she pleased.
He didn't have to do anything now.
After all, he'd worked so hard for so long, wasn't it time to enjoy himself a little?
A certain street in Meguro Ward, Tokyo.
Just as Lin was carrying Akashiya Moka upstairs to the bedroom.
"Hm?"
Yotsuya Miko, who was out shopping with Yurikawa Hana, paused for a moment.
A strange sensation flashed through her.
It was as if something had suddenly been placed atop her head.
This strange feeling in her heart came as quickly as it went.
So she didn't think much of it.
The confusion merely flickered through her mind.
She continued shopping with Yurikawa Hana.
During this time, Yotsuya Miko discovered that it was just as Lin had said.
Her best friend, Yurikawa Hana, had the kind of constitution that easily attracted vengeful spirits, and another one had latched onto her.
Yotsuya Miko kept a straight face, ignoring the vengeful spirit.
She suppressed the small bit of fear that arose from her conditioned reflex.
Time passed without notice, and soon it was noon.
Instead of going their separate ways, Yotsuya Miko and Yurikawa Hana found a nice-looking shop to eat at.
Another half an hour passed.
Having finished lunch, the two headed for Meguro Station; it was time to go home.
"Wait..."
After arriving near the station, Yotsuya Miko stopped, feigning as if she'd suddenly remembered something.
"What's wrong?"
Yurikawa Hana quickly looked at her.
Yotsuya Miko smiled slightly and said, "Sorry, Hana, I just remembered there was something I forgot to do."
"You go on ahead."
"What is it?"
"It's just a small thing. You head back first, I've got to go."
As soon as the words left her mouth, Yotsuya Miko, as if having made some kind of resolution, turned and left without hesitation.
As she turned and walked away.
The evil spirit that had been fixated on Yurikawa Hana seemed to sense something, looked towards Yotsuya Miko, and followed her.
"Sigh..."
Watching Yotsuya Miko's retreating back, Yurikawa Hana couldn't help but feel stunned, a strange feeling in her heart.
She didn't know why.
She suddenly felt as if an invisible barrier had formed between her and Yotsuya Miko, that things weren't the same as before.
What on earth happened?
Could it be because of Lin?
