Chapter 2 - Act 2 – Academy Entrance Exam

I once read a book on magic and saw a little bit about force users.

They are wizards who manipulate prana into pulling, pushing, and pressing forces.

However, only very few wizards are capable of becoming force users. Even if there are a thousand wizards, only three to five of them will be capable of becoming force users.

I never knew the power of force users was like this.

"Those of you who can withstand my power without fainting or vomiting, please come with us."

"The rest of you, please go to the medical treatment room, please return to your respective places."

Some of the guides began to turn around and walk towards the examination room.

What the hell was that?

It seemed that many people protested against this, especially the one next to me.

The remaining guides began to carry the fainted people and hold back the protests of the failed candidates.

Those of us who survived began to follow the guides into the room.

It seemed that only a quarter of the initial test takers had passed.

"Hey."

Suddenly, a girl called out to me from beside me.

"Oh, yes, hi."

"Have we met or do I know you?"

I asked in confusion because he suddenly greeted me.

"Haha, no, I saw you were very tense, so I just greeted you."

He was a bit strange, he smiled very easily at people he didn"t know.

I ignored him because I didn"t know him very well either.

Finally, we arrived at the academy"s main hall. The room was very spacious and magnificent, reflecting how influential the academy was.

In the middle of the hall, I saw five crystal balls on a large table, which looked like they would require both hands to lift.

"Finally, we have arrived at our second test."

The guide, who was a force user, began to speak again, and before I knew it, he was behind the crystal ball table.

I felt a little scared that he might make a sound.

"Calm down, I won"t recklessly use my powers here."

"Allow me to introduce myself, I am Rey Agata."

"I will test you here."

"This second test is to assess your strength and type of pure power using these crystal balls."

"Please line up neatly in front of these crystal balls and touch them."

One by one, the prospective students began to place their hands on it. The balls began to emit colourful rays, indicating the type of prana manipulation they possessed. Occasionally, some of the balls did not emit any colour at all.

Red symbolised that their prana was powerful in manipulating fire, blue symbolised water, yellow symbolised lightning, white symbolised wind, brown symbolised earth, green indicated that their prana was capable of healing and accelerating the regeneration of bodies infused with their prana, and sometimes the ball glows, indicating they are users of light power or a blessing from the gods, as the priests would say.

Usually, wizards emit red, blue, yellow, white, and brown colours, and sometimes green.

Priests most often get green and light. They are very fanatical about people who emit light in their crystal balls, considering it a blessing from the gods directly to that person.

t was my turn to step forward and touch the ball. I reached out my hand and the ball began to glow with a dark colour.

"Wow, this colour is very rare."

"Finally, there is another potential Force user like me."

"I"m very touched."

I was surprised to see the leader of the guides smiling brightly.

"Wow, this is crazy."

I looked towards the source of the voice and saw that it was coming from another guide and the girl who had greeted me earlier.

Crazy, her crystal ball was emitting five colours.

Usually, only high-level wizards emit three or four colours.

I was stunned to see this.

The girl looked at me. She laughed and raised her index and middle fingers.

"Hihi, you saw that, right?"

Who was that girl?

A slender, slightly petite girl with pink hair.

Ah, never mind, why am I even thinking about that?

"Alright, you may proceed to the battle simulation room behind me."

Guide Rey instructed me to move on to the next room.

"Thank you, guide Rey."

I walked towards the next room.

After entering this room, I looked around. This room was like a training room or a battle arena.

"Welcome, prospective academy students."

"For this second test, you will fight each other in groups of five with the other participants."

One of the guides welcomed us.

"Alright... the five of you who just arrived, please take the weapons that suit you and head to the centre of the room."

The guide pointed to me, the two people before me, and the two people after me who entered the room.

The five of us climbed onto the arena stage with the weapons we were allowed to take.

I took a sword because I had studied the basics of sword fighting before coming here.

"Hello, my name is Jessica."

"I hope we can become good friends after this."

Those friendly words came from the pink-haired girl I had met earlier.

Everyone else remained silent, to stay focused.

"All right, let the battle commence."

Everyone immediately moved to attack, and a man suddenly attacked me with his sword.

I parried his attack with the sword I had brought with me.

His attack was very heavy. It was like holding back a bull"s charge.

Another dwarf tried to attack us by throwing an alchemist"s bottle at us.

We both jumped in opposite directions.

It"s difficult to fight in a free-for-all like this. I have to watch everyone here. They could suddenly attack me from behind.

"One down."

What?

We looked at the person who had fallen. It turned out to be the person who had attacked Jessica earlier.

He was so skilled that he quickly knocked his opponent down.

"Oh, sorry, did I hurt you?"

The girl even asked the person she knocked down. Her behaviour was a bit strange.

Seeing this, the man beside me attacked her blindly.

Suddenly, the silhouette of an antelope appeared behind her and sent the man flying far backwards.

What the hell was that?

The person I had struggled to defeat was easily sent flying backwards.

"I surrender."

Suddenly, the dwarf girl raised her hands and surrendered.

"How could I possibly fight someone who can so easily fly others around like that, especially without casting a spell?"

The dwarf girl stepped down from the arena. It was a shame she withdrew, because she had talent in alchemy.

I just stood there watching her.

What should I do to attack her?

The more I looked at her, the more annoyed I felt that she continued to act so gentle. Even though she had just flown someone away.

What should I do?

I also just found out that I have force user abilities. No wonder I practised various elemental spells and only made a little progress. Even though I am a descendant of a great wizard.

Let me just try it, using the wind element in my feet as a propellant and I"ll try to attack her.

I executed my strategy. I began gathering prana in my feet, transformed it into wind element, and used it like a spring to propel myself towards him at high speed.

Suddenly, the antelope silhouette appeared again.

After witnessing the previous incident, I tried gathering prana in my hands to dodge sideways and avoid being hit by the wind that had sent the man flying earlier.

Wuushh,,,

I managed to dodge.

I gathered prana in my feet again to use as a spring like before.

I was about to attack him.

Suddenly, the silhouette of another animal appeared, not an antelope this time.

Was it an elephant?

Suddenly

Bughh,,,

A powerful blow from below struck my stomach, causing me to gradually lose consciousness.

Everything went black.

--

I slowly opened my eyes.

Ugh...

Where am I?
