Charizard were rare in the central region of the valley, but there were still a dozen or so. Without exception, every single one radiated overwhelming strength.
Though none were quite on par with Scarface, they were far from ordinary Charizard.
"Elite Four level… every single one of them?" Yozora was stunned. The heritage of this Charizard Valley runs too deep…
However—
Even faced with these powerful Elite Four–level Charizard, Yozora's own Charizard showed little interest. After all, it had already defeated Scarface. Compared to that battle, these weaker Charizard hardly stirred its fighting spirit.
Seeing this, Liza chuckled, pointing ahead. "Come on. Up there lies the King's domain. Even I rarely set foot inside that place."
With that, the group set out toward the King's territory.
The King's domain stretched across a wide expanse, lush with mountain springs, trees, and birdsong. Compared to the central region, this land was even more vibrant, almost idyllic.
Within it dwelled another dozen Charizard—but one among them stood apart.
A colossal Charizard lay upon the ground, its massive body stretching well over three meters long. Its sheer bulk gave it the appearance of a living fortress.
The others were all female Charizard, attendants of the King—his harem—ensuring the continuation of strong bloodlines.
"Hiss…"
The instant Yozora and his Charizard laid eyes upon the King, both froze.
Especially Yozora.
He had expected the reigning King to be extraordinary, worthy of having defeated Scarface in his prime and seized the throne.
But witnessing it in person still left him reeling.
The Overlord Charizard! Its body exceeded three meters in length—this was undoubtedly an Overlord Charizard!
Pokémon: Overlord CharizardType: Fire + FlyingLevel: ?Potential: Tier 3 LegendaryDescription: An exceptional monarch within its species, exuding an aura of absolute dominance.
As expected—it was indeed an Overlord Charizard.
Yet even more shocking, Yozora's system could not discern its level.
That could only mean one thing: its level was too high. At the very least, Champion tier.
Terrifying—an actual Champion-level Charizard, and a wild one at that!
"Roooar!"
At the sight of the Valley King, Yozora's Charizard first froze in awe, then suddenly let out a furious roar.
Fighting spirit.
Wild, uncontainable fighting spirit burst forth from its eyes.
"Fwoooosh—"
Without waiting for orders, Charizard unleashed a blazing stream of fire straight at the Overlord's back.
But the Overlord Charizard did not stir. It remained sprawled on the ground, breathing steadily, its chest rising and falling like the beat of a colossal drum.
Indeed, this was a true beast—its organs massive, its breath booming like thunder. Even without wanting to, Yozora and Liza heard every resounding inhale.
The flames, however, accomplished nothing.
Not even enough to rouse the King from its slumber.
Charizard was furious. The fire it took such pride in hadn't even managed to awaken its opponent. The humiliation burned like acid.
Through their bond, Yozora felt Charizard's anger surge. He immediately raised his Key Stone—
Brilliant light flared.
Once again, Mega Charizard X emerged, cloaked in obsidian scales. It wasted no time, spewing hellish blue flames that engulfed the Overlord.
This time, the Overlord Charizard finally stirred.
With a thunderous motion, it rose to its feet.
The sheer size of it—those powerful limbs, that fearsome yet majestic face, the mountainous pressure of its presence—was enough to freeze the blood.
Yozora held his ground, but Liza, guardian of Charizard Valley, trembled despite herself.
…
The Overlord Charizard stood calmly within the inferno, utterly unbothered. Its gaze on Mega Charizard X carried only faint disdain.
Even in Mega Evolution, Yozora's Charizard had merely managed to wake it—not harm it.
Too terrifying. A true nightmare given form.
"Charizard—use Thunder Punch!" Yozora commanded.
Fire-type moves would do little, but Electric attacks could strike for double damage. That gap could be decisive.
"Roooar!"
Obeying, Mega Charizard X lunged forward, soaring up to meet the Overlord.
The size difference was overwhelming—one barely over two meters, the other towering beyond three. In the King's shadow, even the fearsome Mega Charizard looked frail and pale.
Yet it did not falter. Its claws crackled with lightning as it hammered a flurry of Thunder Punches into the King's massive belly.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
Over a dozen blows landed in rapid succession, sparks dancing across the Overlord's scales.
But the King did not budge. Its swollen chest bore only faint marks, as if brushed by static.
Super effective damage—quadruple effectiveness—yet not even a scratch.
The gulf between them was too vast.
Champion tier. And likely far beyond even that…
"Huuh—"
Then, the Overlord finally moved.
Its mountainous presence surged as it drew in a deep breath—
—and exhaled.
Just a single breath. But to Mega Charizard X, it was a hurricane. The gust knocked it stumbling backward.
Before it could recover, the Overlord's thick, muscular tail lashed forward.
Wham!
The impact was like a thunderclap. Mega Charizard X shot through the air like a cannonball, slamming into the ground dozens of meters away.
Light shimmered—Mega Evolution faded. Yozora's Charizard reverted to its normal form, its eyes shut tight in unconsciousness.
Too terrifying.
Even Mega Charizard had been crushed, and crushed effortlessly.
The Overlord had not used a single move. Just its breath. Just its tail. Ordinary attacks, yet they had felled a Mega Evolution in moments.
The difference between them was beyond comprehension.
…
By evening, on the outskirts of Charizard Valley—
After its victory, the Valley King turned away, leaving only the silhouette of its mighty back. With it, its harem of Charizard swiftly drove Yozora, Liza, and the others from the domain.
The King's majesty was not to be defiled.
"Charizard, how do you feel?"
Yozora knelt beside his partner, who had remained unconscious ever since the battle.
Only after a full day of careful tending did Charizard finally stir awake.
…
…
