Chapter 33 - Chapter 33. A Much Better Worker.

Shen Xingyan decided not to interfere with the skeletons' work anymore. Harvesting the wheat and planting the new seeds had significantly depleted his stamina, which was now approaching a critical level.

He found a spot at the edge of the field, sat down to rest, and recover his strength. Only now did he have time to think about distributing his free attribute points.

Shen Xingyan brought up his stats panel and, chewing on two steamed buns to restore his stamina, carefully studied the information. After admiring his improved stats, he focused his attention on the free points section.

Looking at the six free attribute points, he fell into deep thought.

When he reached level two, he had put points into Primal Energy because of the increased land area—he didn't have enough energy to simultaneously use his professional skill on all four mu of land, which led to an inefficient use of resources.

By his calculations, each mu of land required about 5 Primal Energy points. Now that his domain had increased to five mu, the old 20 points were once again insufficient.

In a normal situation, he should have added 5 free points to Primal Energy to solve this problem.

But he was reluctant to spend them this way—after all, it was a whole 5 points! If he invested them in any physical stat and later transferred them to the real world, it would be equivalent to several years of hard training.

And now these points were simply "wasted" on Primal Energy. How could he make such a decision so easily?

However, thinking rationally and considering the long-term perspective, Shen Xingyan understood that investing points in Primal Energy was only a matter of time.

Although after reaching level 10, his Primal Energy would increase with each level-up, in the foreseeable future, there would only be more opportunities to break Star Source world records.

Take the current potatoes with a 20-day growth cycle—would there be any farmer capable of continuously staying in the Star Source world for the entire maturation period? Shen Xingyan believed there were none, and even those who could spend ten consecutive days there were very few. Otherwise, he wouldn't have become the wheat record holder.

But his little skeletons could work without a break, without knowing fatigue. No one else had these conditions, so the probability of breaking the potato record was very high.

For a time, he even thought about planting different crops on each mu of land to try and break several records at once. But he didn't do it—stability was more important now. Experiments were only acceptable with a stable foundation; otherwise, it would be too risky.

Judging by the rewards from his two previous records, the Star Source always gave him additional land. This would probably be a part of his future rewards, and the natural increase in his Primal Energy would definitely not be enough—he would have to use his free attribute points.

Realizing this, Shen Xingyan felt a certain sense of resignation. He had a premonition that all his future free points would have to be invested in Primal Energy, and his other stats would only be able to grow naturally.

As much as he wanted to do otherwise, there was no choice. For the greater good, he put five points into Primal Energy with a heavy heart.

"My poor free points!" Shen Xingyan mentally commemorated his heroically sacrificed attribute points.

Now his Primal Energy had increased from 20 to 25 points. He decided not to allocate the one remaining point for now—let it stay there for a bit; it was nice to look at. Although in the future, even this point would likely go toward increasing his Primal Energy.

Having finished distributing the points, Shen Xingyan shook himself off and raised his head, looking at the spacious field where the little skeletons were working together harmoniously under Wangcai's leadership. His recent despondency instantly vanished, replaced by a feeling of satisfaction.

Wangcai in his straw hat truly looked like a real foreman. He would bend over, doing his work, then lift his head to watch the other skeletons—a true supervisor, which brought a smile to Shen Xingyan's face.

"My first skeleton is really capable. It's a shame he can't eat, otherwise with such zeal for work, he would definitely deserve a chicken leg as a reward!" Shen Xingyan thought with a smile.

Thanks to the rest and the buns, his stamina soon recovered to 12 points. Not lingering at the edge of the field anymore, he joined Wangcai and the other skeletons.

Working alongside them, Shen Xingyan tried to teach them new farming principles. To more reliably break the record, he had studied relevant materials and researched ways to increase crop yields.

Analyzing various cases recorded in the database, he had identified a common factor for success: meticulous cultivation.

This method involved completing the care tasks issued by the Star Source in a more detailed and thorough manner. For most professionals, who could barely keep up with the normal prompts, such an approach was useless, but Shen Xingyan decided to try it. If scientific research confirmed that it increased yields, it was worth a shot.

Now that the new seeds had just been planted, it was time to put this concept into practice.

So while working, Shen Xingyan tried to transfer his knowledge to Wangcai and the other skeletons, explaining how to achieve perfection in their work and gradually increase efficiency.

However, he had overestimated the little skeletons' capacity for understanding.

After his explanations, the skeletons seemed to completely fail to grasp the meaning of his instructions and continued to perform the same crude movements, no different from what he had taught them before.

Seeing that teaching the new principles didn't yield the desired results, Shen Xingyan felt a bit of disappointment. But he didn't give up and once again pinned his hopes on his reliable assistant, Wangcai.

When he individually and in detail explained his concept to Wangcai, showing how to better perform watering, weeding, pest control, and other agricultural tasks, the skeleton captain, whether he truly understood the essence or simply copied Shen Xingyan's movements, started working much better than before.
