Raizen and Saffi stayed frozen for a few seconds after the final chord.
It looked like a graceful ending pose, but it definitely didn't feel like it. It felt like a mistake they didn't know how to fix.
Then Raizen realized where his hands still were, and his brain finally caught up.
He let go quickly, but gently, stepping back like he didn't want to trouble Saffi. She straightened at the same time, smoothing her shirt without looking at anyone, cheeks still very warm. Both were out of breath in a way that had nothing to do with effort.
For a second, neither of them spoke.
They just stood there, trying to pretend this was normal.
But then...
Clap.
Clap.
Clap.
Slow. Theatrical. Dramatic.
Raizen's shoulders tensed before his mind even processed who it was. He heard this kind of sound before.
