Chapter 19 - New Pieces On The Board

Somewhere in America.

A dungeon appeared and a few A-rank hunters who were around quickly went to subdue it. Through the dungeon gate, a man walked out - tattered clothes, muscular build, long, overgrown hair falling low over his back and partly over his eyes, a rough beard and a very intimidating aura.

Few seconds after their initial attack on the man, they all lay on the floor, knocked out cold. Except for one who he slowly walked towards.

The hunter kept moving back as the man approached, finally coming to a stop when his back hit the wall. "Wh-who are you? Wh-what, D-do you want?" The hunter spoke in English.

The man from the dungeon stood right above the hunter was Korean. "I don't know how to speak English much. I'm trying to explain but they keep attacking." He muttered to himself. "But..." With a weird accented English, he spoke, pointing at the hunter. "Me, Ilhwan Sung... You..." He pointed to himself with a smile. "I... Want... To... Go... Home."

Korea.

Minho's home.

Minho sat with his mother in the living room where they watched a movie together. A fun night. Something that was very rare ever since Joonho left them. For the first time in what felt like forever, he could see his mother smile genuinely without having something disturbing behind it. Her face was clearer and beaming with happiness.

For that moment, it felt as if all the work 'Heart Of Void' did over the months, making him what he currently is, was all tripped off in this one night. He couldn't have gotten a better reward from the system.

Time passed and it was getting late, so they bade each other goodnight and went to their rooms.

Minho got to his room and sat at the edge of the bed, thinking - this happiness wasn't going to last long and he could feel it. He can't always be there, and what the system was turning him into was equally as scary as it was interesting. The screen flickered to life.

[Name: Lee Minho

• EXP: 480/2000

• Attributes: Strength 380, Stamina 330, Agility 330, Intelligence 400, Perception 340, Destructive Potential: 3000.]

Herald of Annihilation…that sounded cool, but it also sounded dangerous. He asked for it anyways, there's no running away now, is there?

He opened his inventory. Leveling up, he had obtained several weapons and artifacts and now his eyes were fixed on the one he got today.

[Dragon Fang.

• Tier: SS

• Abilities: First hit brutality.

- Soul hit.

- All attributes +50 (temporary)]

It was undeniably his strongest weapon current. He then went to the one that disturbed him the most.

[Partial Dragonification (locked): 1/2 requirements met.]

"Partial Dragonification..." He muttered. "Is it turning me into a dragon or something?" He sighed and laid back on the bed, dismissing the system. "How do I tell mom, before it's too late?"

Just then, his phone rang.

"Huh?" He carried the phone and saw an unknown number. "Who else calls me other mom? Hmm…I wonder who it is." He picked up and remained quiet, waiting for the caller to speak first.

"Hello? I-is anyone there?" A female voice came from the speaker, nervous.

Now he remembered. It was that lady from the Hunters Association. "Yes."

"Oh, h-hi there, Hunter Lee—s-sorry, I mean Minho."

"Oh hey, uhh... Chairman's assistant's assistant. How may I help you?"

She giggled a little, before clearing her throat. Minho brought the phone away from his ear and looked at the screen, raising an eyebrow, before putting it back.

"It's Yun Ah-Ra, not…Chairman's assistant's assistant." Ah-Ra said. "Well, about the…um…meeting. I mean, we could work with your time, we're not disrupting your schedule, are we?"

"Maybe. I don't have a schedule. If something needs my attention, I'd go to the most relevant." Minho replied, sitting up.

"Oh, okay~"

"12 pm. I can work with that. Not a guarantee by the way." He added.

"Alright, I'll inform the chairman right away." Ah-Ra nodded. "Wait don't cut the call!" She blurted, a little too fast. She put the phone on her chest, taking a deep breath, steadying herself.

The system screen came to life in Minho's vision. He raised an eyebrow. "Uhh, I think we'll talk tomorrow." He cut the call.

Ah-Ra finally summoning confidence, put the phone to her ear, fiddling with her hair. Her voice dropping low. "Um…thank you for helping us in the—" She paused. "Hello? Hello, Minho?" She looked at the phone realizing the call was cut.

She picked up her pillow and tossed it away, and slumped onto her bed face first, screamed and then went back to take her pillow from the ground with a dejected look. Everytime she closes her eyes, he keeps showing up and she feels like opening her eyes to see his hands on her forehead again. Wait what? "Ehh? Eeehhhh? What am I thinking?"

Meanwhile, Minho stared at the system message. It was strange.

Disciples? Leadership? Monarchs? Army? "What is all this?" He muttered. "Is there a war?" A devilish grin touched his face. "You should've said so." He had already gotten addicted to violence. "Come on, tell me who you are."

As if to reply him, a new screen appeared beside the first one. This one turned out to be more eye catching than the previous. It was quest.
