Three Days Later...
Korean Hunters Association.
Sung Jinwoo walked to a stop front of the compound. It was swarming with journalists and the security was tight at the entrance.
"What's happening here?" He muttered. "Why does this look just like the day I was about to get reevaluated?"
"You have been evaluated before?" A voice came from behind. Too familiar for him to mistake it.
He turned around to find Liu Zhigang walking up to him with his personal guards who were trying to stop the media from coming too close. A faint imperceptible smile touched his lips. "Liu Zhigang…" he trailed off.
Liu Zhigang stopped beside him, looked at the crowd for a while before turning to Jinwoo. The look on Jinwoo's face was too knowing. As if Jinwoo knew for a long time. Not to even talk of the way he addressed him casually. "Hmm… have we met before?"
Jinwoo blinked. "Eh?" After all, in this timeline, they wouldn't have ever dreamed of meeting. "Oh… uhh, no. Not really."
Liu's gaze held for a moment longer before turning back to the crowd. "Are you here for evaluation, Hunter...?"
"Sung Jinwoo. Yes, I came for evaluation. But it seems a top ranking hunter has been discovered, so I might leave it to another day." Jinwoo replied.
"Mm, top ranking indeed." Liu smiled. "Say, you are not a low rank hunter yourself, Hunter Sung Jinwoo, am I right?"
Jinwoo's eyes narrowed a little. 'Of course, he's a genius when it comes to perception and detecting. He really is a monster everywhere, tch.' he thought, then he spoke aloud. "I can't say. My results in there would determine if I am or not."
Liu Zhigang chuckled lightly. "Then follow me, Sung Jinwoo," He turned to Jinwoo. "As a friend who also came for evaluation."
Jinwoo remained quiet for a while. He hadn't expected to even get in today. But it'd be best to show himself now, and get enough freedom, in case he comes across the one threat he's been looking for. The sooner the better. "Thank you." He bowed his head.
Liu Zhigang smiled and led the way. The media personnels tried to get to Liu Zhigang, but his guards didn't allow it.
"National Level Hunter, Liu Zhigang, what is the purpose of your stay in Korea?"
"National Hunter, Liu Zhigang, is there something special about the person being evaluated today?"
"Is it true you came for the Breaker as well, Hunter Liu?"
The questions flew from all directions, but he didn't reply any.
The security and Woo Jinchul stopped him by the entrance, requesting he goes in alone.
"Ah, I have to to take this one with me." He pointed at Jinwoo. "Make this an exclusion."
Jinchul eyed Jinwoo for a second longer before agreeing. "I'll let this one go, I suppose."
Jinwoo looked mock-offended. 'Why is it suddenly getting on my nerves that none of these people remember me?' he thought as he walked in with Jinchul.
They walked past the sterile walls of the hallway leading to the reevaluation test room. Jinwoo spotted all the S-ranks, making him question who is it that was getting evaluated today as he sat on the beach while Liu Zhigang entered the room.
Some of the S-ranks looked at him, wondering who he was. He spotted Cha Hae-In, but she didn't even spare him a glance - her focus on whoever was getting evaluated. The unsettlement of it all was getting to his neck. Why would his own wife not even care who he is? Why in the world?
Inside the evaluation room...
Minho stood in front of the evaluation orb - a huge black ball that seemed to pulse with energy. By the side, stood Chairman Go Gun-Hee and National Level Hunter, Liu Zhigang with a the personnel recording the evaluation results.
"Go ahead, sir," the recorder said to Minho, gesturing for him to place his hand on the orb.
Minho's expression was deadpan, right from the moment he stepped out of his house. He slowly walked up and placed his hand on it. All he had to do was exert his power into it, but he was having second thoughts.
"Go on." Chairman Go prompted him to continue.
Minho breathed out, letting himself relax. Then he let his power flow, slowly at first. The recorder's reading were moving slowly from E to D to C, then a sudden spike to S.
Outside, Jinwoo's eyes widened. 'Could it be...' his thought trailed.
Liu Zhigang chuckled. "Mm, why are you holding back, Hunter…?"
"Minho," Chairman Go completed.
Minho barely stopped himself from throwing a glare at the National Level Hunter. "Tch,"
Minho drew everything back. The readings drop to zero, leaving the recorder confused. He was about to say something when Chairman Go told him to keep quiet. What was coming was more dangerous.
Outside...
The sudden fall made Jinwoo confused. Before he could think it any further, one of the staffs there came up to him. "Are you the person with National Level Hunter, Liu Zhigang?"
"Oh, yes." He nodded, standing up.
"Follow me." The staff said, leading Jinwoo to a seperate evaluation room.
Jinwoo exhaled and walked up to the evaluation orb.
Meanwhile inside Minho's evaluation room, the air became tight. "Are you sure you want me to push everything?" He muttered.
"Hunter Minho, we…" Chairman Go flicked between him and Liu Zhigang. "both know that you're a National Level Hunter. It is best for you to do so, as it will also give you a wider scale of freedom on whatever you plan to do…" He stopped, his smile faltering. "That is not wrong."
Minho sighed. "Fine then,"
On the other side, Jinwoo was just about to place his hand on his.
Then, Minho let out a monstrous surge of aura. The readings on recorder's tablet went red, going out of expected range.
Chairman Go and Liu Zhigang's eyes widened in shock. They were expecting great power, yes. But not this much.
Liu tried making sense of it. 'Did… the he get stronger or something?'
Outside, the S-ranks were utterly speechless and somehow terrified. Baek Yoonho gritted his teeth.
Even hunters from outside the facility could feel the intensity.
In Jinwoo's evaluation room...
Jinwoo smiled faintly. "It better not be what I'm thinking." He muttered, placing his hand gently on the orb. "I'd better let him know I'm here."
The S-ranks were still in shock when another monstrous aura came in.
"Hm?" Minho raised a brow.
Two disaster class auras clashing. What a drama to unfold.
