THUD!
The head of a beast fell to the, rolling to the feet of a demon. It took a lot of steps back before it got split in two.
Minho stood in the dungeon, surrounded by the bodies of dead beasts and demons.
He dismissed the dagger in hand and walked further into the dungeon.
However, it wasn't the kind of dungeon he was expecting.
As he continued walking, he started to see what seemed to be a dim light coming from ahead. Soon, he got to the source.
It was an opening, leading outside, as if he was just inside a cave. The mana coming from the other side of that entrance was immense.
Minho eventually walked out of the cave realized that was a clifftop, but what was below surprised him even more.
Numerous monsters, from trolls to demons to beasts and insectoids.
Minho's eyes scanned through the vast space filled with demons.
After a deep inhale in through the nose and out the mouth, he smiled. "My my, it's not everyday you come across such a beautiful situation, is it?"
He summoned Antares's Sword and jogged back. With a run, he jumped off, soaring high in the sky with an excited grin on his face.
A sickening thud boomed as he hit the ground, sending tons of monsters flying.
The monsters charged at him and he readied himself, waiting.
As they got close, Minho gave a spinning slash.
At first it was just all the monsters in a 20 meter radius that got cleaved in two, but after a second flames erupted, following that exact pattern, doubling the distance and burning the demons to ash.
Minho's smile widened and he let out a low chuckle. He started blitzing past them at an insane speed.
A second or two after his departure, flames followed.
The sword actually emitted flames on each strike, but Minho was too fast that the effect only came on seconds after he had already struck.
Minho skidded to a halt at some point and looked back at the ashes and scorched earth. He was sure he'd killed about a hundred or so, but the demons were still chocked up.
This was The Abyss.
A pocket dimension where Yogumunt, the Monarch of Transfiguration, sneakily stole and gathered some of the armies of the other monarchs.
Though he couldn't control them, he still continued, believing he could meet the being of equivalent exchange and request for power to do so.
A means of trying to become the strongest Monarch. Though he couldn't obtain that of a few Monarchs. Legia, Sillad and Antares.
However, he had to expose himself for the sake of exterminating a threat like Minho, diverting the Monarchs' focus from his schemes, saying it was a safety measure.
Minho dismissed Antares's sword. "I should try this thing out," he said, voice low.
He raised a hand joining his thumb and middle finger as if holding onto something and then he drew it to the side, a streak of fire following his hand.
He moved his hand, gracefully, enjoying the scenery of the fire as the monsters approached.
Finally stopping it above his head, he snapped the fingers and a ball of fire started to form over his hand.
With a swift motion, he shot it towards the charge.
It was a simple explosion at first contact, but then a deafening boom echoed through the Abyss, lighting the vast expanse.
The ones behind him paused as Minho slowly turned to them with hands in his pockets.
As the flame danced, casting an orange glow.
What the monsters were seeing was a crimson-eyed silhouette with fire behind it and a devilish grin stretched across its face.
Minho removed one hand and extended it behind him and brought it forward in a smooth arc.
The fire from behind him stretched, following the side he drew, burning the monsters to crisps.
Behind the flames hadn't reduced a bit and were even doing more damage to the surrounding, with no sign of dying down soon.
The Flames of Unending Destruction truly destroyed anything in its path until it was no more.
… …
Outside.
Rakkan walked upstairs to meet Eslin and Bihami. They both took defensive stances, but Rakkan knew well to not try do anything stupid and get carried away.
Experience really was the best teacher.
"I do not have time for you," he said, opening a gate by his side. His eyes swept across the bar, seeing all his men dead.
"Where is my King?" Eslin growled, her face contorted in rage.
Rakkan smiled. "A place where he will not be back for—"
"Did someone say King?"
Rakkan's eyes went wide and a sudden cold jolted up his spine. "How?"
He slowly turned to see Minho ascending the underground staircase.
"Why do you look like you just saw a ghost… Father?" Minho asked.
'I should not engage. This is all diverting from the plan. Does this mean he cleared the Abyss? Impossible. I need to return first. This is wrong.' Wasting no time, Rakkan jumped into the gate and it sealed shut.
Minho's eyes were focused. "What is the relationship between those two bastards? Is the old man working for the Beast Monarch?"
"My dearest King," Eslin called, walking up to Minho with his phone. "A message."
Minho collected it and saw an email from a anonymous email, saying:
