Chapter 40 - ε Cygni Aa

— Where do we start looking?

— Didn't we just miss a street? Don't you two remember where home is?

— So, the house is right there. The problem is finding the lab; it seems to have disappeared.

"Hana, I remember he had a pretty rough passage. Isn't it likely he's in the same place, just lower down?"

Apollo's new high-ranking squadron was confused. Elizabeth couldn't have written it wrong; her memory is photographic, and thanks to her shadows, she can find anything. Dionísio begged for just a quick flyover around the neighborhood, but Cassandra refused. Nicolas, Maria, and Henrique listened and observed everything closely, making it impossible for them not to see when Dionísio would fly.

— Cassandra, your organization is so big and powerful, doesn't it have memory erasers like men in black?

"They do." He led Hana to the curb. "Actually, your dad has it, but look, we're looking for his lab where he keeps his toys."

"Cassandra." Margarida tugged at the sleeve of her suit. "And if we use it to find Antares and Argos, they were in this lab a year ago. And a peacock and a scorpion—they're pretty normal animals."

Cassandra straightened the sleeve of her suit, walked over to Calisto, and whispered in her ear.

"Kids, you've seen a peacock, right? Want to see one up close? If you want, just turn around and close your eyes, and only open them when Auntie here tells you to. Are we even?"

— Okay!— The three agreed in Harmony.

The fingers were brought to the long, fleshy red lips; the hand caught fire, making them bleed. The piercings hidden in the red flesh came out. The scorpion's tail began to unfold, dropping to the ground, which at the same time gave rise to a small scorpion. The same happened with the wings; they fell to the ground, giving rise to a peacock.

"Do you want my services, Lady Pythia?" Argos bowed.

— Shut up, you scandalous person! — Margarida tried to hit Argos' head, but he dodged it.

—It's an insult to Hera's former informant, telling her to shut up. I have her to tell the four winds everything I know!— He opened his tail.

— You screwed up. — He sat down on the curb again.

The children, beings with a radar better than NASA's own probe, with a better capture than an air traffic control tower, turned their attention to the peacock, when it opened its majestic fan, showing its beautiful feathers.

— Children, stay here!

—How cute! Not even the little speckled hen is as pretty!

The peacock saw what he had done, and what it would do to him. In fear, he took flight, but being a peacock, it didn't last long; it served more to help the children, thirsty for his cuteness, catch him quickly.

"Hey kids, give it to me." Hana didn't miss the chance. "I want to make some chicken soup, I need it!"

"Oh, Hana, how cruel." Maria slid her hand from the peacock's head to the end of its tail. "He's so cute. What's his name?"

"His name is Argos." He got up from the curb. "We actually came here to take him to his house, it's somewhere around here. Could you help me?"

— Of course!— He dropped to the ground. — Go on Argos, find your house.

Everyone's attention was on the peacock. He had no control over himself and was embarrassed, so he closed his tail and stepped back. He then gracefully opened his fan again and began to parade among the crowd.

Some were hesitant, Calisto restrained himself from shooting an arrow at his head. Hana hid her instincts, so as not to act like a chicken-eating fox. Margarida was held by Dionísio. Heleno was calmly clapping.

Cassandra, placed her shoulders on the curb, and her hands on her chin, taking advantage of the passage of that star, even created fireworks around Argos as she paraded, she even made Calisto use the winds to create an electronic beat.

"Thank you all here! I'm honored to have you all here! Heleno, who helped me with my wife's look, is not only a blacksmith but also a top fashion designer."

— Holy shit, he didn't shut up.

— Guys, forget it, did I say it was a peacock? It's actually a very rare parrot, straight from the Peruvian Amazon.

—reco-reco! Reco-reco! Reco-reco!

Argos remained like a parrot, repeating phrases that the children on the mountain spoke, while he showed the way to his house, which had been talked about so much.

An empty lot, used by the neighborhood as a landfill, lay ahead, littered with discarded furniture, televisions, beds, and decaying objects. Still in character, she discussed how to get to the lab. Amidst a pile of trash, Cassandra found doors leading to the basement.

— Auntie, are you sure that's the parrot's house?

"All of it. He has to stay in the dark, he even sleeps upside down like a bat." Hana grabbed him by the legs and placed him upside down. "SLEEP, PARROT!"

— See, he's sleeping. — Margarida released him into the air. — He even wakes up quickly. — Give Hana a high five.

— Yes. Bye guys, it was really cool. Our parents are calling us. — The three of them left in harmony.

The scorpion that had previously been hiding in Cassandra's suit pocket leaped out, its six legs touching the ground, enlarging them. Argos closed his fan and sighed, happy to have done exactly what his mistress asked.

"Now we're going in. Is everyone ready?" He shifted the furniture thrown in the vacant lot. "Anything could happen from now on. As the boss, I'm warning everyone to be prepared. I know Heleno is cool."

"Calisto and I are cool." His body was pushed forward with curiosity. "Now we're going to play pyramid robbers. I can't wait to see inside. It's been five years."

"Before we go in." Dionysus flapped his wings, heading toward Margaret. "Could you give me that sword of yours? I'll give you my scepter," invoked Mr. Tirsus. "With it, you can take the form of a maenad and wield it; it's more appropriate for you."

"Of course, young god." Eunuch reached his hand to the ground. The roots of the nearby trees pulled up the earth, revealing Eunuch's sword. "You already know how it works."

The eunuch handed the sword to Dionysus, who placed his fingers on the child's chin. Daisy's mouth was opened. Dionysus opened his other hand, and some wine gushed from his Thyrsus into his hand. He handed the Thyrsus to Daisy and made her swallow the wine.

Margarita's forehead was covered with a vine bearing a few grapes. Her body was covered with branches; in the blink of an eye, Margarita's hair took on a voluminous, curly, reddish-brown color. Meanwhile, her body took on its adult form. Her nakedness was covered with a chiton, which was overlaid with a wolf's skin.

"Now you're a Bacchante. You don't have to bother me by calling me master or sir. I'm fine with that."

— First of all, thank you. For now, I feel like I've recovered half my giant strength. And screw you! I would never call you master, little macaw!
