Alright, time to see what these boxes hold! "Hey, System," I say, "open those ten Supply Boxes, please!"
[Affirmative. Opening Supply Boxes.]
The Digivice screen flashes as each box pops open in quick succession. I cross my fingers, hoping for some rare items or maybe even another Digi-Egg.
[Supply Box Rewards:]
[Digi-Coin: 20]
[Digi-Coin: 90]
[Digi-Coin: 120]
…
[Behemoth (Purple)]
I'm already used to getting Digi-Coins, so I hardly pay attention to it, but then I see the purple reward.
"What the heck is a Behemoth? Sounds like some kinda monster,"
Suddenly, the Digi-Home air grows heavy. A low growl echoes around the room, and the ground vibrates. The light flickers, casting dancing shadows on the walls. Then, with a flash of dark energy, a motorcycle materializes right in front of me. Not just any motorcycle, mind you. This thing is straight out of a nightmare.
It's sleek and jagged, with crimson edges and black plating that looks like it was forged from burning steel. The wheels are engulfed in eerie, hellish flames that don't seem to burn the floor, and a glaring, skull-like emblem is fixed at its front, with glowing red eyes that seem to stare right into my soul. I take a step back, feeling a primal fear grip me.
Agumon and Gabumon growl, stepping in front of me protectively. Gatomon's fur stands on end, and even BlackGatomon seems unnerved, her tail twitching nervously. Koromon and Punimon hide behind my legs, whimpering softly. Cutemon shivers. The bike exudes an oppressive aura, a feeling of raw power and barely restrained chaos.
"Okay, what the heck is that thing?" I ask, my voice barely above a whisper. "System, you got any intel on this… Behemoth?"
[Analyzing… Behemoth: Cursed motorcycle from the Digital World. Most famously associated with Beelzebumon. A monstrous machine with a will of its own, Behemoth is more than just a vehicle—it is a living construct imbued with dark energy, bound to drag its rider into destruction.]
My eyes widen as I get a closer look. "No way…" I mutter, recognizing the bike from Digimon Tamers. This is Beelzebumon's ride, Behemoth. How did I manage to pull something like this from a purple Supply Box? It feels like I won the lottery.
"Dude, that is one wicked ride," I exclaim, adrenaline coursing through my veins. The gamer side of me yearns to hop on and take it for a spin, but the warning from the System hangs heavy in the air.
"Ethan, no!" Gatomon says, her voice sharp with concern. "The System said it's cursed! It's dangerous!"
"Yeah, Kepler," BlackGatomon chimes in, a rare note of caution in her tone. "Don't be an idiot. That thing looks like it'll eat your soul."
Agumon and Gabumon nod in agreement, their expressions grim. Even Cutemon peeks out from behind my legs, its eyes wide with worry.
"C'mon, guys, relax," I say, trying to sound confident, though a knot of apprehension tightens in my stomach. "It'll be fine. What's life without a little risk, right? Besides, how often do you get a chance to ride Behemoth?"
I ignore their protests and approach the motorcycle. The dark aura intensifies as I get closer, and the skull emblem's eyes seem to bore into me. I swing my leg over the seat, gripping the handlebars. The leather feels strangely warm, almost alive, beneath my hands.
"See? Nothing to worry about," I say, forcing a smile.
The moment my butt hits the seat, it is as if a switch flips in my brain. The world around me warps and distorts, and a cacophony of voices explodes in my head. They scream for destruction, for chaos, for the unleashing of pure, unadulterated power.
"Destroy… destroy… obliterate… consume…" the voices drone, their whispers turning into a deafening roar.
My mind feels like it is tearing apart, my thoughts no longer my own. I am consumed by an insatiable hunger, a desire to tear down everything in my path. The Digi-Home, my friends, my responsibilities—they all fade away, replaced by a burning need to unleash havoc.
"RRRAAAAAHHHH!" I roar, my voice distorted and guttural.
My hands grip the throttle, twisting it with a manic intensity. Behemoth roars to life, the hellish flames beneath its wheels intensifying. Without a second thought, I release the clutch, and the motorcycle lunges forward.
I rocket around the Digi-Home, leaving trails of fire and destruction in my wake. The once-pristine landscape is quickly reduced to a smoldering ruin. I laugh, a wild, unhinged sound that echoes through the digital space. I am no longer Ethan Kepler, the sarcastic gamer. I am a vessel for chaos, a harbinger of doom.
Gatomon, BlackGatomon, Agumon, and Gabumon spring into action, realizing the gravity of the situation.
"Ethan, stop!" Gatomon yells, but her voice is lost in the roar of the engine and the madness in my mind.
"We have to get him off that thing!" BlackGatomon shouts, her eyes blazing with determination.
They charge towards me, dodging the fiery trails left by Behemoth. Agumon launches a Pepper Breath attack, but the flames dissipate harmlessly against the motorcycle's dark aura. Gabumon tries to tackle me, but I swerve, sending him crashing into the Digi-Lab.
"This is insane!" I hear Gatomon yell as I circle around again.
"Cat's Eye!" Gatomon shouts, attempting to use her hypnotic gaze, but the voices in my head drown out her influence, and I barrel towards her, heedless of the danger.
BlackGatomon leaps onto the motorcycle, clawing at my arms, trying to break my grip on the handlebars. I shake her off, sending her tumbling to the ground. Agumon and Gabumon, battered but unbowed, try to flank me, attempting to coordinate an attack.
The struggle feels like an eternity. I am vaguely aware of their efforts to stop me, but the voices in my head drown out everything else. I am trapped in a whirlwind of destruction, with no hope of escape.
Finally, after what feels like an age, Gatomon manages to leap onto the motorcycle from behind, wrapping her arms around my chest. With a surge of holy power, she channels her energy into me, fighting against the dark influence of Behemoth.
"Ethan, fight it!" she cries, her voice clear and strong despite the chaos. "You have to break free!"
Her words cut through the madness, a flicker of my old self returning to the surface. I clench my jaw, battling against the voices in my head, struggling to regain control.
With a final, Herculean effort, I manage to pry my hands from the handlebars. The motorcycle swerves wildly, throwing me and Gatomon off. We crash to the ground, landing hard.
The moment I am separated from Behemoth, the voices vanish, and my mind clears. I gasp for breath, my body trembling with exhaustion. The Digi-Home is in ruins, smoldering craters and twisted metal littering the landscape.
I look up and see Gatomon, BlackGatomon, Agumon, and Gabumon staring down at me, their expressions a mix of relief and concern. Cutemon and the babies peek out from behind Gatomon.
"Ethan… are you okay?" Gatomon asks, her voice filled with worry.
I nod weakly, still trying to process what just happened. "Yeah… I think so," I say, my voice hoarse. "What… what was that?"
"You were possessed," Gatomon says, her voice serious. "Behemoth took over your mind."
I shudder, the memory of the voices and the destructive urge sending a chill down my spine. "Thanks, guys. I owe you all big time. You saved my bacon… again."
Cutemon hurries over, her little paws glowing with a soft, pink light. She touches my arm, and a soothing warmth spreads through my body, easing the aches and pains from the crash. "Are you feeling better, chu~?" she asks, her voice filled with concern.
"Much better, Cutemon. Thanks," I say, giving her a grateful smile.
BlackGatomon scoffs. "Idiot move, Boss. I thought you were smarter than that. You can't just jump on a cursed motorcycle without thinking things through."
"Yeah, yeah, I know, I know. I screwed up," I admit, hanging my head. "I got cocky, and I almost got us all killed. Sorry."
I look at the demonic motorcycle, still smoldering in the distance. The thing is awesome. But after my near-death experience, I'm nervous. This is gonna take some work.
"But I'm not giving up," I say, my voice filled with determination. "Taming that thing isn't gonna be easy, but I swear, I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna tame Behemoth."
