Episode 16 —
The chamber pulsed with energy as Ryker slowly rose from his coffin, towering above Clover. His eyes—sharp, calculating—fixed on him, and for a moment, the young hero felt like a child caught in the glare of a storm.
"You've been busy while I slept," Ryker said, voice low but firm. A faint smile tugged at his lips, though it carried the weight of authority. "Impressive… but reckless Clover swallowed hard. "I… I trained… seven days in the chamber."
Ryker shook his head, the shadows of the coffin stretching across the floor. "Seven days, huh? Not bad… but you're still careless. Overconfidence will get you killed. Remember that.
He stepped closer, the air thick with tension. Then, almost casually, he waved a hand. "You've done enough for today. Go home before morning. You have your first day at Vanguardaum Academy—don't show up exhausted, or I'll personally make sure you regret it."
Clover nodded, heart pounding. "Y-Yes, sir.
Ryker's gaze softened for the briefest moment. "Clover… this is only the beginning. Be ready for what's coming."
As Clover turned to leave, the chamber seemed to sigh, the lights dimming slightly. Nyx followed silently, tail flicking in silent judgment. Aurora zipped around him, whispering, "You survived… barely."
And as he stepped toward the massive steel door, Clover felt the weight of what lay ahead. Vanguardaum Academy. New faces. New challenges.
The chamber fell silent… and Ryker's piercing gaze followed him all the way out.Episode 16 — Scene Two: Homebound Dash
Clover stepped out of the chamber, Aetherfang secured in his sheath, Aurora hovering beside him, flickering with quiet amusement. The city streets stretched before him, quiet under the early dawn.
"Home… fast, Clover muttered, feeling the surge of speed still humming in his veins. His body moved almost instinctively, every step precise, every reflex sharp.
Shadows flickered in the alley ahead—Vigilantes. Low-tier thugs, thinking they could cause trouble. Clover didn't even hesitate. Aetherfang pulsed faintly in response to his Essentia, and he blurred past them, a streak of silver and blue. Dodges, pivots, jumps—all effortless. They swung wildly, missing by inches.
Aurora zipped alongside him, teasing, "Try to keep up, Clover!"
He laughed breathlessly. "You'resupposed toguide not compete!"Moments later, Clover reached his window, scaling effortlessly. He slipped inside, laying Aetherfang carefully in its sheath. Aurora hovered nearby, light dimming softly. Clover flopped onto his bed, exhaustion finally hitting. Morning came too soon. The sunlight cut across his room, and a familiar voice called:
"Clover! School! Vanguardaum Academy!"
He groaned, realizing he had overslept. Seven days of chamber training in minutes outside—and now he was running late for his first real day at the academy.
Clover paused at the foot of the stairs, looking at Clara sitting by the window, fingers tracing the folds of a book. Her white cane leaned against the wall, silent yet present.
"Morning, Clara," he said softly, forcing a cheerful tone.
She smiled faintly. "You're leaving for school today, right?"
Clover knelt beside her, hiding the ache in his chest. "Yeah… I'll be gone a lot, but it's for the best. Big school, lots of learning… you know, fun stuff.
Clara tilted her head. "You always make it sound fun."
He chuckled, pretending ease. "Of course. Someone's gotta make school sound exciting. You'll be fine, sis. I'll come back every weekend, promise."
Her small hand reached for his. "I'll miss you." Clover swallowed, squeezing her fingers gently. "I'll miss you too. But you'll be okay. Mom's here. And… I'll call every day. Really.
Clara nodded, trusting him, unaware of the weight of his true responsibilities. Clover rose, glancing at his sword strapped to his back. "Alright… time to conquer the academy."
Clover stood by the gate, Aetherfang sheathed on his back, Aurora hovering quietly beside him. Akira's eyes, calm and mature, met his.
"You really have to go?" she asked softly, her voice steady, but there was an edge of something unspoken.
Clover forced a grin. "Yeah… it's just school, Akira. I'll be fine. Don't worry about me."
She stepped closer, placing a hand on his shoulder. "You're not just going to school, Clover. You're stepping into something bigger. Promise me you'll stay careful."
"I promise," he said, though his heart clenched. He wanted to tell her everything, but words failed him.
Akira smiled faintly, brushing a strand of hair behind his ear. "You're growing up too fast… Just don't forget us—don't forget me."
Clover swallowed, nodding. "I'll… never forget."
With a final squeeze of her hand, he turned, the wind carrying him forward. Aurora's light danced around him, and even with all his new strength, Clover felt a pang of longing as he ran toward his first day at Vanguardaum Academy.
Here's a continuation scene based on your instructions:--
"Clover! Breakfast!" a familiar voice called.Coming, Mom!" Clover shouted back, ducking through the front gate. He hadn't even stopped to catch his breath.
As he climbed through his window, the soft morning light hit the living room. His mom, Camilla, stood there, arms crossed, eyes sharp.
"My son… ready for your first day?" she asked, tilting her head toward his back. "And what is that you're carrying?"
Clover froze for a moment, realizing Aetherfang was still sheathed and strapped across his back.
"You don't… want to know," he muttered, quickly sliding it under his coat.
Camilla frowned, shaking her head. "I just hope you aren't… seeing Ryker or getting into trouble again. That man—"
Before she could finish, Clover's phone buzzed violently in his pocket. He jumped, startled, and pulled it out.
"Shage? he answered, voice low.
"Clover," a Strict urgent voice said on the other end. "Don't worry about your mom. Listen carefully—there's something you need to know before you go to school today."
Clover's pulse quickened. Something was happening. Whatever it was, it couldn't wait. The caller said don't worry I will hear from him so Camilla said clover take this money with u
Clover adjusted the strap of his coat, Aetherfang safely hidden beneath, and walked alongside Akira, her calm presence a quiet anchor.
"You trained… a lot last night, didn't you?" she asked softly, noticing the faint stiffness in his movements.
"Yeah," Clover said with a grin. "Feels… amazing.
As they reached the bus stop, Akira's phone buzzed. She glanced at it, her expression flickering for a moment.
"Uh… Clover, wait," she murmured. "Someone's calling… I should—"
"Don't worry, I'll be fine," he said, though she shook her head with a small smile.
"I'll see you this weekend," she said quickly. "I'll send you a letter, or… well, wait a minute. I'll come with you."
Clover blinked. "Huh?" Just then, his mother's voice called from the house across the street: "Clover! Uncle Shage is waiting for you at Vanguardaum Academy—he's your math teacher!"
Akira gave him a reassuring nod. "Let's go. Today's the first day, right? Don't let nerves get in the way."
The bus rumbled to a stop, doors sliding open. Clover and Akira climbed in together, finding seats near the middle. Clover slid Aetherfang into its sheath on his back, feeling the familiar weight settle.
He glanced at Akira, who gave him an encouraging smile. "Ready?" she asked.
"Ready," Clover said, excitement and nerves intertwining.
As the bus pulled away from the quiet streets toward Vanguardaum Academy, Clover felt the world stretching ahead. New faces, new challenges—and Uncle Shage waiting to greet him—were just the beginning of the next chapter of his journey .
. The bus hissed to a stop, doors sliding open. Clover tightened the strap of his coat, Aetherfang hidden beneath, and Akira's calm hand brushed his arm. But the moment the doors swung wide, the air in the bus changed.
Zane "Slip" Roderick sauntered in first, eyes glinting with mischief. Every step radiated confidence, like he owned the aisle.
Rina "Viper" Solis followed, her presence a quiet storm. Four burly men sitting near the front froze under her gaze. One by one, each man stood, almost against his will, fumbling with his bag, dazed by the subtle pull of her charm. She slid past them gracefully, a sly smile on her lips as she claimed the seats, leaving a trail of confusion and muttered curses behind.
Lila "Whisper" Moreau drifted in next, silent as smoke. Her sharp eyes scanned the bus, daring anyone to meet her stare. Every movement she made was deliberate, calculated, unnerving.
Ty "Fang" Corven lingered at the back, leaning casually against a seat. His grin was magnetic, his voice smooth as silk. He winked at a pair of girls, his charm making them giggle nervously, their cheeks pink. The air seemed lighter where he stood—yet tinged with danger.
Slip's chuckle broke the tension, low and predatory. "Well… well… the new kids are finally here. Let's see how long it takes them to figure out they're not in control."
Clover felt his pulse spike. Akira's hand tightened on his arm, her eyes sharp and wary.
And then, as the bus lurched forward, Clover caught it—the unspoken rule of this ride: they didn't just break rules, they bent reality to their favor.
He swallowed hard. New faces, new school… and now, new predators sitting across from him.
The game had begun.
