"Ito what do you mean?" a girl asked.
"Yeah, what's going on?" another student asked.
"We are in—"
"Change and meet me in the indoor pool."
Ito was cut short by a teacher—supposedly our P.E teacher. He came down to our classroom to call us out for class.
The man was hairy, quite short, and rather chubby–especially for a physical education teacher.
Also, who has P.E on the first day of school? Anyway, I'm sure Ito was about to tell us about the fight.
Talk about horrible timing.
We all followed a straight line walking to our locker rooms which were divided by gender.
"What do you think Ito wanted to say?"
"I don't know, maybe it's about the fight."
"I hope it isn't."
The boys from my class were talking about the fight; they were probably anxious since they didn't know the conclusion of the matter.
"Yeah, me too. But why did they even do it? I understand Inoue, like that guy is always something. But Miyamura? Isn't he on the volleyball team?"
"Yeah, I hope he doesn't think of doing anything reckless before he gets removed from the volleyball team."
"You're just scared that when he leaves, there won't be any more bonuses from him being in the official volleyball team."
Bonuses, huh?
From the way it sounds, I'm sure that a bonus is more significant than just a benefit–since it sounds like it also helps people who aren't from the club activity.
Maybe you get it if you become important in a club since he mentioned him being in the official volleyball team.
"You make me sound like a bad guy."
"But if he tries something like this, things might…"
"Nah, don't worry. He doesn't have the gall, the girls will get angry, and we all know that he definitely doesn't want that," Another spoke up, he put emphasis on 'definitely'.
"Yeah you know how he is; he's like a hungry lion except he hunts girls."
"Yeah, an enemy of the female gender."
Their words—it's probably to ease their anxiety.
The way Class Beta treated us showed that they treated our class differently.
Well, not really since they cut the line in front of some other classes too but their insults somewhat reflected their feelings towards us.
Moreover, considering the fact that we were divided based on how useful we are to society–ignoring the fact it was just a rumor–they probably thought of us as trash, perhaps even worse than that.
There was also the fact that no one from any other class spoke up for us except Class Alpha–but that wasn't even a class action.
Even Class Delta and Class Gamma were silent, it was clear that we weren't particularly valued by the other classes.
It's quite sad, isn't it?
"Yeah, like what a simp!"
The boys laughed merrily, discussing Miyamura behind his back. I felt kinda bad for him.
Though I didn't say a word because I was sure they would target me next, and I was sure of two other things.
One was that they wouldn't hold back, and two was that they wouldn't even hide it like they did for Miyamura.
Don't get hurt, Eiya!
I'm sure when I get friends, they'll protect me! Nah, I highly doubt it.
I carried a grim expression till we finally arrived at the locker room to change into our swimwear—the school already prepared one for us.
I went to my locker and on seeing my swimwear I sighed.
"Heugh."
It wasn't particularly bad, though it could have been better. It was black with gold on its sides, it also had the school emblem at the front–just like the blazer.
Though it wasn't the best, that wasn't why I sighed, it was because in this school, you can't choose not to do swimming classes.
Talk about student autonomy.
The entire thought of swimming was jarring to say the least, not because I couldn't, in fact I could swim quite well, it was because of Ayato.
I wish I could just hide in the locker room.
As we were changing, some of the guys were still hesitant to change despite being in the same class for a term, well I'm sure most didn't want to show too much skin.
I guess in a way, guys are like girls.
After everyone put on their swimwear, we all came out to the pool.
The pool was divided into two, one with swimming lanes and the other without it—both being about 15 meters each.
"Line up."
We scrambled trying to line up at the stern call of our P.E teacher, we lined up horizontally and I ended up beside Suzuki.
What should I do? I'm already here so it seems I must swim, huh?
"Nakamura," Suzuki whispered.
"Huh? What?" I whispered back.
"You're really ripped, you know that."
"Oh, you think so, thanks," I grinned nervously.
"So, spill it. Are you secretly an athlete or what?"
"Oh, no. My family really likes exercise so…"
"Oh, I see. Well, I guess you're lucky since you were forced, right?"
Lucky? Well, I suppose you could say that.
"Hey, you two shut up."
The teacher noticed us talking and shut it down immediately.
"Now as we all know this is the first swimming class since that incident happened—"
"Sorry to cut you short but what happened?" a student asked.
"Don't interrupt my class also, did you forget? I'm talking about the one where a student almost drowned."
Oh, so this is their first swimming class, I guess it explains the behavior of some of the boys.
I bet the ones who aren't shy have already gone to a water park or something.
"Anyway, let's begin. I'm sure you all know how to swim so we'll start with drills."
"Um sir, I don't know how to," A lone girl raised her hand.
"Don't worry, I'll teach you the basics. If you can't swim, go to the shallow side of the pool so I can teach you."
"C-Can't I just go back to class instead?"
The girl was probably shy about showing skin and was self-conscious about her looks—as she was on the slender side.
However, our teacher didn't relent and convinced her to swim—he did this to everyone that asked if they could skip class.
After doing specific drills, we were free to do whatever we wanted so I sat on a bench.
However, I later found out that if you didn't want to participate you could stay in class, though if you came to the pool and put on swimwear you couldn't leave.
Meaning I had wasted my time coming here for no reason. The girls with smaller chest sizes didn't come almost like it was planned except for that girl from earlier, maybe she didn't have many friends.
Anyway, the realisation that I could have avoided this just left me exasperated.
"What a drag."

Author's Note:
Quick question. Why are all P.E teachers not fit? Okay fine, my first P.E teacher was a fit woman but the second/last one had a large stomach.
I remember one day in class, when I was still in the 8th Grade, he said we could ask him anything and he wouldn't get upset.
So a girl asked why he had a big tummy, and we all started laughing–it was quite funny indeed.
You know I saw him recently and not only does he have a big tummy but he also has a bald head.
Anyway, please remember to comment, leave a review, and share.
Thanks for reading the chapter and see you in the next one.
