Chapter 50 - Chapter 49: Asura's Wrath

As both Garp and Jack had attacked one another, their crews also started their own fight, as they then began to attack each other with the same intensity that their captains displayed.

Kuzan ended up facing Issho and Aramaki, while Bogard found himself fighting against Laffitte and Kuwajima.

The rest of the Wicked Wench crew were fending off the marine soldiers, all while Jack and Garp remained locked in a fierce struggle that was centered entirely between the two of them.

Jack had used his devil fruit ability to transform himself into the hybrid version of his fruit, allowing him to move with a speed where the lightning on his body combined with his strength to the point that it nearly surpassed the speed that Kizaru claimed he traveled.

Garp, however, was not just some random person on the sea, as he was completely serious during his fight against Jack, especially after being reminded of events in the past.

Garp felt that Jack was someone who could easily destroy the current balance and quietness of the sea, particularly since Roger and Whitebeard were already roaming around as the two strongest figures of that era.

"You brat, you are much too young to be challenging me, gahahahaha," Garp said, as the two of them had a brief standstill where their clash split the sky itself while their Haki collided with such strength that the clouds above them were pushed aside.

Even though they were momentarily locked against one another, Jack's entire body was screaming with excitement, since he finally found himself in a battle that he believed he deserved.

Jack also knew that the only thing he could use as a proper match against Garp was the strength of his physical abilities, since his Haki was starting to show its weakness.

It still lacked the intensity that was required to face someone like Garp, a man who had exchanged blows with both Roger and Whitebeard countless times.

This was the main reason why Jack continued to rely heavily on his devil fruit, as he then covered his sword with growing layers of lightning that he further coated with Haki.

He moved away from Garp to build momentum for his next attack, while Garp raised both arms and stood in a defensive stance, observing Jack with careful focus as he followed the young pirate's every movement.

"ThunderClap: Hundredth Fold," Jack yelled, moving in a quick zigzag pattern that blurred his body. He then launched a series of attacks toward Garp, who covered his arms with armament haki while countering every incoming strike that Jack sent toward him.

"Gatling Punches," Garp shouted back, ensuring that every strike that Jack produced was met and countered immediately.

They moved faster and faster, to the point that the ground beneath them cracked, while Jack continued building his momentum until he reached the final hundred thousandth strike.

His body then became enveloped with lightning that formed into the shape of a dragon's head, which violently surged toward Garp as Jack prepared the finishing blow.

"Thunderclap: DRAGON'S HEAD," Jack yelled, as the dragon-shaped lightning roared. Jack channeled his Conqueror's Haki and Armament Haki into the attack, and the lightning shifted from blue to a red color that resembled the dragon that Guy had summoned during his final move against Madara.

"GALAXY DIVIDE," Garp responded. He had charged his fist with armament Haki the moment he sensed Jack building momentum.

When their techniques finally collided, an explosion erupted that shook the entire island, while the others who were participating in their own battles stopped to look.

Even the marines, who held absolute trust in Garp, found themselves surprised that a new pirate like Jack was capable of matching the Marine Hero with such intensity.

This was something usually reserved for only the most powerful people on the sea, such as Whitebeard, the recognized strongest man alive, and Gol D. Roger, the rival whom Garp had matched countless times.

They now observed Garp, who normally treated most battles with a relaxed and joking nature unless facing someone on Roger's level, wearing the same serious expression he only used against the Pirate King.

Yet now he was showing it to a young man who did not even have a bounty near one billion.

"What are you doing Garp-san, defeat and arrest him already," Kuzan muttered, trusting fully in his mentor as he stared at both Jack and Garp who were breathing loudly, trying to recover.

This was the first time Jack had felt such exertion ever since he reached his current level with the Hercules Method.

"Mr. Monkey D. Garp, you are a great marine but even more than that, you are someone with a D. lineage. What are you still doing in the Marines when you know the kind of people that you are serving," Jack said as he slowly straightened his posture and recovered from his fatigue.

"A pirate like you does not have the capacity to understand the meaning of sacrificing for the greater good. Your only concerns are yourselves and your own self-interest," Garp replied.

"Look at your own situation before lecturing me about that. All of you are dogs on a tight leash. You have no right to preach about the greater good when you also kill the innocent people you claim to protect from us pirates. Do not pretend that you are clean when you are covered in dried blood," Jack answered. Jack knew that Garp understood exactly what he meant, and Garp's silence confirmed it.

After a few moments passed, Jack transformed into the full beast form of his devil fruit, gaining four additional arms until he had six in total.

The anger that Jack carried began to intensify, and the people around him felt a surge of energy that ignited their own anger toward the negative moments in their lives.

Jack and his crew were surprised by this effect, since this was the first time Jack had used the full beast form.

His crew displayed expressions that resembled Rock Lee and Guy when they opened their inner gates.

Their bodies then produced lightning that wrapped around them, forcing Garp and the other marines to jump back, leaving Jack and his crew standing alone while the lightning continued to build in intensity.

It grew to the point that the surrounding air vibrated, and Jack suddenly absorbed everything. His crew returned to their original appearances, yet they felt entirely drained and emotionless, as if their feelings had been removed for a moment.

Jack, on the other hand, was overloaded with power. His skin changed from its usual blue into a deep red, and Garp sensed that something enormous was about to explode.

Jack lifted one of his arms above his head while lightning collected around it, brightening to an overwhelming level.

The figure of lightning above him grew more and more until it shined so brightly that the sound of a million chirping birds filled the air. Jack and his attack continued to brighten until Garp yelled for everyone to retreat.

"GET BACK," Garp shouted. Bogard and Kuzan reacted immediately, with Kuzan creating a large mountain of ice that he used to push the other marines away from the island.

Everyone except Garp was forced back. Jack's crew waited without emotion, stuck in an empty state as their captain continued gathering energy.

"ASURA'S WRATH," Jack yelled. He released a massive beam of lightning that tore through everything in its path and vaporized anything it touched. Garp responded with his own technique.

"INFINITUM EXPLOSION," Garp shouted as he poured every bit of Haki he possessed into his fist and met Jack's attack head on.

The collision between the two attacks created another explosion, much stronger than the first one. Garp dodged and jumped back after redirecting most of it, while Aramaki grabbed Jack and pulled him away.

Aramaki ordered everyone to run toward their ship while Jack continued releasing the laser like attack behind them, keeping Garp occupied since the marines had already retreated with Kuzan's help.

After a while, Jack ran out of strength and finally collapsed from severe exhaustion, but his crew managed to leave the island.

The area where Jack's attack had struck was completely vaporized, revealing the bottom layer of the island and forming a massive shore like crater.

The marines survived only because of Garp and Kuzan, who had softened the impact significantly.
