"To… stop her?" Vita caught something strange in my words. I smiled at her, though the warmth never reached my eyes.
My gaze burned with quiet rage, like a serpent coiled to strike at the first sign of threat.
"How will you stop her, Ma'am?" Vita questioned.
My smile deepened while my stare turned ice-cold, studying Vita with newfound curiosity.
"Vita, have you ever done something wicked to someone before?"
"N—Not that I can think of, Ma'am," Vita stammered nervously. Somehow, I had suddenly developed the same intimidating presence that Mr. Benjamin possessed—we seemed like a perfect pair in Vita's thoughts at that moment.
This energy forced people to bow their heads and comply with every command, or face consequences.
Vita had been terrified during her first encounter with Mr. Carlos Benjamin because his presence made her feel as though she faced execution despite her innocence.
