"Hold up, you used your pocket money to invest in this place?" I stared at Carlos with obvious doubt. "Exactly how much pocket money are we discussing?"
Carlos gave a casual shrug. "Just pocket money. A modest investment—about a million."
My eyes nearly bulged out when he dropped that number. A 'modest investment'? Right. Of course, for someone like Carlos who was basically born clutching a platinum credit card, a million probably felt like loose change.
