I filled my glass with the freshly brewed tea, its warmth radiating through the ceramic. Wine would've been perfect for tonight, but pregnancy meant zero risks for my baby.

Call me overprotective, but this little miracle was something I'd dreamed of for years. Nothing and no one would threaten it.

Barefoot, I padded across the wooden floor wearing only the purple lingerie I'd chosen to surprise Carlos when he walked through that door. The cabin's heater kept everything cozy, so the sheer fabric felt just right against my skin.

This place was ridiculous—luxury disguised as rustic charm. Full amenities, round-the-clock room service, even a voice-activated assistant for whatever I needed.

I settled onto the sofa facing the massive window.
